Hi everyone, my name is Helen and i am 30 years old, my husband and i are considering going for IVF. We are very nervous about the whole process.
My husband has Kleinfelter Syndrome which means he cant have children. So we would have to go for a sperm donor. I already have a 14 year old son from a previous relationship. Is there anybody out there that could recommend a fertility clinic, i have been searching on the internet for Irish clinics but im not really sure where to start.
I'm new to this site but on my 2nd round of IVF. We are very hopeful this time around and were lucky to have really
healthy embryos., so everything is crossed. It's daunting but I have to say that the clinic we are at, the Merrion Fertility Clinic of Merrion Square in Dublin are just excellent. I have heard mixed reviews from different people regarding all clinics in Dublin but the staff in the Merrion are just totally amazing and so supportive. I think they do a magnificent job and have made me feel so relaxed and looked after. This is my experience of course and everyones is different, but like you I was very scared at first. There is a great book called fertility and conception by Zita West a fertility expert in England which gives great advice about trying for a baby naturally and IVF. She is due over in Dubin again for another conference that you can go to. Anyway I'm babbling here but her advice regarding clinics was to best location for you, opening hours, reputation and success rates - you can ask them or check their website, specialist expertise, level of general care, availability of counselling and waiting times.

Thank you for the post. I have tried the Merrion Fertility Clinic but they dont use sperm donors and that is what we would be looking for. I had a look at the Hari clinic in the Rotunda Hospital as that is where we had our inital tests 7 years ago.
God its all so exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. Thank you for the website i will have a look at that.
