Sitting here with my pants unsnapped because of the 10 follies, all over 24mm as of yesterday. I woke up at 12:45am for my partner to do my Ovidrel shot. The retrieval is scheduled for 11:45am Wednesday (tomorrow). I think I'm less nervous about that "surgery" than I am the progesterone shots that start up on Thursday. Besides icing the area, are there other tricks for injecting PIO?

Holy giant follies Meinemo!!! I can't answer your questions since this is my first IVF and I won't be doing PIO, but wow that's a lot of big follies you got cooking there. Wishing you lots of good luck for tomorrow's retrieval and definitely let us know how it goes!! :D

I've been testing since 5dp5dt with $tree hpt's and all have been negative. Beta is tomorrow but I really feel like it didn't work for me.

Meinemo - I try to follow this thread as much as possible and I want wish everyone the best of luck. But, I wanted to provide some more tips that I have learned regarding the PIO shots. It is helpful to have the medication in the syringe at room temperature or even warming it up under some facet water before injecting to help prevent so much irritation (obviously you would want to warm the medication in the syringe not the entire bottle of medication). Also, try to lie down on your stomach or side if that is too uncomfortable because it is best to relax the muscle and not have it tense up while injecting the medication.

I hope this helps!

Lou – I just read your post about you feeling nauseated and very tired. I vote for pregnant also. When is your beta scheduled for?

Ronda – I hope that you are doing well. It is always good to see your posts.

Karenthescorpio (Karen) – I hope you hear good news regarding your report and are able to start Lupron soon. I know that you must be excited to get everything going.

Hi everyone...boy do I feel out of the loop. So many new girls and people moving along in their cycles. I'll just give you guys a quick update.

Our ultrasound yesterday showed that the hemorriage had gotten bigger (even though I'm not bleeding anymore) and they could only find one gestational sac. So, it looks like we miscarried one of the twins. The good news is the other is looking great. Measured at 6weeks 6days and hp was 122bpm. RE told me to stop the PIO shots and do the progestrone suppositories instead and released me to my regular OB. I saw the nurse there today who did bw, urine sample, pap smear, breast exam, manual pelvic exam, and flu shot. She said uterus was measuring where it should be and that I could come back in two weeks for an ultrasound to make sure the hemorriage is healing.

Lou- dont worry I'm sure you are BFP with all your symptoms. Are you going to POAS? When is your beta?

Lauren319- Congrats on being Preggo! I bet you cant wait to go out and buy lots of pink things. Who knows maybe we are carrying girls together. :)

Klinger- glad you heard lots of clicking at your u/s and that you are stimming nicely.

Ester- Dont worry about the lupron/follistim combo. I was on that for both cycles and never got bitchy and only had a couple of headaches.

Ryann- Your poor dad! I'm sorry he is still having the shock treatments. I hope his heart rights itself soon. Not sure why your counter is going backwards but I'm glad you'll be doing your FET soon.

Sorry ladies that's all I can remember for now. Best of luck to everyone!

Krys- Congrats! Your preggers! awesome news!

Hopeforbabies- congrats to you, too! I'm sorry you lost one of the twins. :( Yeah for a great beta and heartbeat!

Meinemo- Good luck at retrieval! Regarding the shots, I found that heating the progesterone in the syringe until it was warm to really help. I used an electric heating pad. I also gave myself my own shots. It hurt less that way. I think the anticipation was worse when someone else did it for me. I stood in the bathroom in front of the mirror, leaned my weight to the opposite side of injection side/hip. Some people lay down if someone else is doing it. I found it easier and less dramatic just to do it standing. But lean your weight off of the side that is getting the shot so the muscle is relaxed. Afterwards I put a hand massage on the most gentle vibration setting and massaged it for 3 minutes to help prevent knots. You can also have your partner rub it. Also, after your retrieval have your nurse draw circles on your hips to indentify the "target area". If you are hitting the right spot it shouldn't hurt. Good luck!!!!!

Riogirl- thanks for your sweet note. It's been rough for sure but being able to try again brings so much hope. And I'm feeling very positive and excited about this cycle. I'm doing the exact same protocol that worked the last time. No reason it won't work again! I'm declaring it!

Lou- How you feeling today? We are all on pins and needles to get the official word! 5 more days!

Sending tons of baby dust to those in the ER and ET stage of this crazy process!

Rio -- Nope... Not gonna POAS. I can wait for beta day. I have many reasons but mainly, if it's negative because it's just too early, then I bum myself out and I don't need that.

Ester -- A Lupron protocol for you, huh? I don't have too many issues on Lupron, just that it takes a HUGE dose to supress me and that causes headaches. On normal human doses it's OK though. I typically end up on 20 units a day and I'm a tiny girl and STILL ovulate through it.

Kynlee -- You're right. It's not always the perfect embies that make babies. My first IVF transfer I had two perfect 3 day embies and it was BFN. My next, I had two with a bit of fragmentation and one crappy one. I transferred all three and got a BFP! I ended up having a m/c, but it goes to show you never know what's going to work. My RE told me once, "I've seen many beautiful babies born from fragmented embryos." Your embies were stronger than you think if they survived the thaw. I asked about Vitrification because it's supposed to have a 90% thaw rate. My clinic started doing it in the past two years I think. I transferred 2 5 day good quality (not perfect) thawed blasts. My RE gave me 50/50 odds. We'll see. Today I seem symptom free. I feel good. Go figure.

margi -- Thanks hun. I don't know what to think! I'm trying to be optimistic but it's hard. I'm trying to be prepared for any result. I'm starting the AF dance for you girl! Hope she hurries up and shows her evil self soon for ya.

Lauren -- You're too funny. I'm not knitting booties just yet. It could still go either way. Today I feel good, so who knows? No, I'm not going to POAS. I'm going to wait for my beta on the 16th. Franny hasn't been on in a while. Barry had a major abdominal surgery and she received her BFN a day or two later. She's been through a lot. I think of her often.

Karin -- I dunno hun. I feel quite normal today. Just a lingering bit of a migraine from yesterday but no nausea at all to speak of. I don't know if that's good or not! Hope you are rested.

Tess -- Interesting what you said about the headaches after ET. I don't remember any with my BFP, just cramping. Fingers crossed for your 3rd beta tomorrow! Good luck! I'm sure it will be great.

Sonya -- How are you doing egg making machine? I hope your ER wasn't too bad for you and you got many gorgeous eggs!

klinger -- Gosh, I couldn't walk out of there without knowing how many follies and how big they all were. But clicking away measuring sure sounds promising! Will be thinking of you on Thursday!

Ryann -- I have no idea why your ticker is backwards! But I like it!

Meinemo -- 32mm does sound quite large and might be over-mature. My RE will let one get like that if all the others are within the same size. That might be why. I just use ice for the PIO. And if you wipe the area with alcohol before the shot, make sure it dries completely otherwise it stings like a b*tch! They pretty much suck but you get used to them.

Blang -- That's why I don't POAS. Because many other's have had negative HPT's and gotten positive betas. I hope you are one of them. Your blood level does not equal your urine level and it could very well be too early to show up on a HPT. Keep the faith!

Angela -- My beta is Saturday 10/16. I don't know what to think. Today I am symptom free pretty much. Hmmmm.

Teresa -- Oh no! I'm so sorry you lost a twin. But I'm really relieved that despite the SCH your baby is doing well. That's great news. Take care of yourself and keep us updated!

Krys -- Congrats! That's an awesome beta!!! You are PREGNANT!!! :D

Karen -- You're nuts for doing your own PIO shots! Today I feel pretty normal. Had a slight residual headache this morning but no nausea at all. My mouth seems "watery" though. Weird.

Lauren319 -- Knew it! Woo hoo! Congrats mama!

AFM -- Thank you all for your BFP predictions. I sure hope you are all right! Yesterday I felt AWFUL at 9dpo. Today, at 10dpo, I feel pretty normal. Energy is there. No cramping. Headache gone by mid-morning. The only thing I have is that my mouth is "watery". Like I wanna spit all the time. I've been sipping water or chewing gum because it's annoying. Yesterday I associated it with the nausea but I don't know about today. I'm not going to POAS. I'm trying to be prepared for another BFN because it really could go either way. I'm nervous and scared. 4 more days til beta.

Less then a week till I find out, but I am feeling like AF is coming unless this is just cramps from the process... So hope its just from everything and not AF... Keep your fingers crossed for me :)
