Hi everyone -

Well it was an exciting day yesterday to hear that Steph and the babies are doing so well! And ummm, gulp, uhhhh, when I updated our list i have to say that the fact that now I'm next? eeeek! is ummm, pretty damn aaaaaccckkk - who am I kidding? I'm totally flipping out! whew! As much as I say that I'm eager to not feel all that pressure when walking, turning, bending, sitting - jeez - all the time now, ahhh, I've really gotten the idea that - shite! This is going to hurt ALOT! isnt it? I've been looking out for any signs of anything, but so far nothing, no losing of the mucous plug, or back pain or BH, or even twinges. Its just the waiting game now. But I'm dying to know WHEN?? Yes, i'm sort of a control freak and Savannah's in charge - not me, so we wait....
Oh, and I finally got a ridiculous comment ( knew it was bound to happen sometime, right?) I'm in the grocery store and this woman walks past me an says
"I know Lamaze if you need it, you look like you're ready to pop" HUH? Ummm, yeah, thanks lady, that was such a helpful comment - idiot! Oh, well at least I got through the whole pg without anyone touching my belly ( or stretch marks either whoo hoo!) And the next week Chris's being gone lots of hours problem was solved. I talked to a friend of mine who said - no way to me driving myself and thinks she can be at my house in 15-20 minutes - if I need her to be - so whew! Now if only I knew when that would be... I cant complain, I feel ok, just really large and slow  Oh and I've noticed that my belly has changed shape? and now looks like its oblong? I'll post a pic to give you all a laugh, the OB said it was normal - but boy does it look funny! I'll put the new nursery pics too, now that its all been rearranged and is more functional now - everythings ready but the baby, and it doesnt seem like she is ready yet

Steph - I hope its not too stressing for you to come home so quick, but I think you'll be happier in your own bed. Just let the proud papa do ALL the baby lifting please! I wonder if your MIL will stay on or mosey on home? An extra pair of hands right now could be a good thing... So glad to hear that Andrew is all about the babies and not too nervous around them. I think that instinct just takes over for men too. Please rest up and take your time recovering girl - xoxoxo

Gi - HAPPY BELATED 14th ANNIVERSARY!! Was Jason upset that you forgot? I mean, how could he be? Little Kayla will be the best present ever!
OH, no what if he's 2 hrs away on your big day? Does you Mum live close enough to take you to the hospital quickly? I sure hope so! And me too - so far no stretch marks, but I have heard stories of the damn things showing up at the last minute - grr! This must be the first time ever that I'm happy to have put on weight during all those IVF attempts - haha. How are you feeling?

Angela - Ah, honey, I'm with Babyluv, you have to figure out a way to slow down a bit before you get to go on maternity leave. Is there a way to do more online instead of in person? I know thats not the norm for you, but I dont think that Gabriella likes you being so active? I'm hoping that you dont have too much longer before leave, please just try to take it easy, ok mama?

Hazel - How are you and George doing? Is he letting you get any rest? I cant wait to see more pics and I'll bet he's growing every day! Now that its all done, he was worth every second of all those attempts, every tear that was shed, and every bad call from the clinic. I cannot wait to have that feeling too. Please try to get some rest Mum! - xoxoxo

Tammy & Ronda - Its great to hear from you guys even though I can imagine that checking in is bittersweet. I think of you both often and wish you peace whichever way you decide is right for each of you. You are both such strong women and will get though these struggles - much love - xoxoxo

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxoxo

Babyluv – Thanks for the advice. You are absolutely right … I do need to slow it down a lot. So I am going to work on that over the next few weeks. No, they drew my labs a few weeks ago and the office didn’t say anything about low iron or even anemia but I will certainly verify on Monday. But, you know that I am still injecting weekly Progesterone IM shots and we all know how sleepy the hormone progesterone makes people feel. So I think that has a lot to do with it also. I won’t have any relief from those shots until after week 35.

I hope the manuals weren’t too time consuming for you. That is a great skill to have involving graphic design! My brother-in-law did that for a long time in Toronto, Canada.

Katie – You are also right about slowing down and I am going to work on that. Sorry you have to hear dumb comments as you shop throughout the store but you are right we are bound to hear them. The nursery looks great and I can tell by looking at your belly picture that Savannah has dropped. I can’t wait to hear your exciting news that she is finally here!

Katie - Your belly pic is making me laugh! You should see mine when I have a BH. Amelia is low and on my left, and Juliette is a little higher on my right. When I contract my whole stomach forms around them and it's just crazy looking! I have dropped so much...even the midwife I saw two days ago was commenting on how the upper part of my abdomen is just empty! I have an u/s tomorrow so I can't wait to hear how big they are. I always get a little nervous about that part, but hopefully they are continuing to grow just fine. Most twins slow down by this point, but I'm hoping my girls are still doing well.

Franca - LOL you are so funny! And to answer your question...mine aren't THAT strong because it only take me 2 minutes TOPS to have one (and that's when I'm trying to reaaaaaallly stretch it out). I think if I took 5-10 min it would be out of control. Pregnancy hormones are so crazy!

AFM - Got my hair done today! Whew! Glad I got it in before the babies come! I never did get the big, lustrous pregnancy hair I heard so much about...it just grew faster than usual (and my hair grows pretty fast). She cut a lot off and I still have a decent amount of length. I love my stylist, but she takes THREE HOURS to highlight and cut my hair. She does a great job, though, and isn't too expensive. One my way home I started having those painful BH that didn't go away until I was home, resting, and drinking lots of water. It's so crazy.

Off to Melting Pot with the fam for some dessert. Yum!!

Katie-your belly is too cute!!!! Mine is also deformed since Flick has been on the right side of my stomach the ENTIRE pregnancy!!! My stomach looks lopsided and then when he/she is moving it looks like there is an alien coming out of my body!! LOVE the nursery aslo-so cute!! Your countdown has begun...

Babyluv-I have an apt for my hair (full highlights) on the 30th of October because who knows how long I can sit there the closer I get to Thanksgiving!!! I also LOVE the Melting Pot desserts!! the smores is my favorite.

Gi-forgetting your anniversary!!!! oh boy-you got the pregnancy brain bad!!!! hehe-hopefully J will find a contact person in case you can't reach him! I luckily live 2-3 minutes from the hospital so i can walk there if I wanted to!!!! DH says I don't even need to pack a bag since he can run home and get me what I need!!

Angela-I also had to take the 3h GTT and passed it but it SUCKED!!! Glad yours is over with and I'm sure it will all come back great!

Sara-good to hear from you mama! Bedrest?!?! Take it easy and your classes will be fine! hope your swelling and contractions let up and you can keep those babies in for a few more weeks.

AFM...not much to report. My OBGYN apt went will this week-measuring right on time and gained 3lbs. I go back on the 27th and I get my u/s to see if Flick is in the right position and they are doing a culture test to see if I have any bacteria down there  I guess it's pretty common to get an anti-biotic IV when we go into labor...not really sure!!

so today my boss and I had a talk about next year and we discussed making my position more of a part-time position which would be good since I can be a stay-at-home mom but then also do informal youth group stuff on weekends and one night a week! right now I work 3-4 nights till 9:00PM AND Sunday's so this will be a nice change to be with the baby and DH as more of a family! DH is also looking for new jobs so with his raise in salery it will work out (hopefully!) They haven't given me a price as to what they will pay me so that will be the deciding factor of course!

just wanted to pop in and extend a giant Image to all the new mommies!!!

Katie, looks like you are next, my friend! I know you are excited to meet Savannah! and btw, the nursery is adorable and the belly is too! ;)

We're in the home stretch as well, with just under 2 weeks to go. Weekly appts showing nothing exciting, in fact, doc says I'm "boring" ;) which is a good thing to be at this stage. We have a scheduled c-section on 11/3 at 9am unless she decides to come early, but i'm not counting on that, since i was 0 dilated with my son and all closed up now. baby girl is head-down and ready tho! Still havent' decided on a name. every time i find one that i get excited about, DH poo-poo's it. :(

so i have something i wanted to share with you guys, cos I thought it was CRAZY INSANE.... a lady i work with just recently had a new baby in their family (her great niece) and she was born via c-section at 25 weeks. She was 14 ounces when she was born. She and mom are both doing well now, she is about 3 weeks old and is gaining weight. They are finally able to hold her some and she is responding well. OK, so the CRAZY thing.... is that her toes started turning blue and naturally, the family was alarmed. The doctor said not to worry, that because there is still so much stem cell activity at this age, because she'd still be only 28 wks along, that sometimes fingers and toes will turn blue, fall off - and actually regenerate. - and apparently they did fall off and they are growing back. I have searched the internet for anything about this but can't find anything. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?? If I didn't know that this was a sane co-worker and her nephew's child, i wouldn't believe it... too crazy. the important part still, tho, is that she is still improving and doing well.

anyway, thought you guys would find that interesting. i'll be checking back in as much as possible. looking forward to seeing all the new posts about the newest arrivals!!!!

Babyluv – Isn’t it funny how we think of these important things like, nails, etc before we give birth … lol. I have been thinking the exact same thing! I too love the Melting Pot but unfortunately we went there when I was about 16 weeks pregnant and sat in a corner behind all of the steam from the pots and almost passed out. So we haven’t been back since, well at least until I give birth.

Claudia – I am so glad that your appointment went well this week. I think your doc is testing for Strep B infection, which we all will be tested for. Usually between 35 to 37 weeks but some physicians test early.

Hope – You are so close also. It is literally a countdown for you! WOW! It is great that the baby is doing well being born that early but I have to say that I haven’t heard about the toes and fingers falling off and regenerating either and I am in the medical field. But, hey there are always new things that we learn about every day. I look forward to reading about your good news in a few weeks also!

AFM – Ok, ladies I forgot to post about my update when I posted early. I heard from my high risk physician that I passed my 3 hour glucose test with flying colors. All four blood draws were within normal limits. That is one huge relief for me! Unfortunately, while I was at work, mostly sitting today, I started feeling more pressure and when I went to the bathroom, I saw a little spotting again. Of course, it was old brown blood like before but I think I need to put my feet up and relax. So I am thinking about taking tomorrow off from work and just relaxing for the day instead of walking around like a mad women all day and driving so much.

Hi ladies :D

Katie-The time is going to fly by! I know the "freak out" stage when you obsess over all the delivery pain. I try to tell myself that no matter what it is completely temporary and you forget quickly (with my DD I quickly forgot-there was so much going on and I was so happy and overwhelmed when I saw her). You are a strong lady and you will do great. Besides, she can't stay in there forever so she'll come whether you're ready or not  Your belly looks ready and the nursery is super adorable.

Angela-I'm going to have to second everyone's request for you to slow down! I'm so glad you passed the GTT test-it is a relief to not deal with one more complication! Please take care of yourself. Hopefully the spotting is nothing to worry about and you will get that day off to relax more.

Claudia-You would think Flick would want all the room he/she can get but staying on the right? Fun times! The part time job sounds like a true blessing-I hope they offer enough money to make it worth it for you.

Gi-Did you still get to enjoy your anniversary? Kayla is going to be a wonderful gift for your husband and also for you-best anniversary present ever!

Babyluv-I am with you on the nervous feeling every time they measure. I always hope the extra food I'm downing is actually going straight to them and not to my butt-hehe. Good luck!

Franca-It has been so long for me and the big O-sounds like you are having some fun  Unless the orgasms are kick starting contractions then they really shouldn't scare you (unless it's scary in a good way-ha!)

Hazel-I bet your beautiful boy is already growing and changing so much. It's nice to hear from you and I hope mommy world is going great for you!

Hope-It is good to be boring! I can't wait to hear your good news. Keep us posted.

AFM-I am honestly trying not to freak out but everything is going crazy for me right now. I went to see my OB today and she ran the tests on my 24 hour urine sample. It came back high with protein so she told me I have preeclampsia. On top of the preterm labor I just experienced she said we are going to have to take the babies early. I see the perinatologist tomorrow for measurements of the baby. Depending on their sizes I could have a c-section first part of next week (at 35 weeks). If they are still on the small side they may try to let me get to 36 weeks, but no later than that. I am so worried that they will be small and have complications that will keep them in the NICU for a while. I want to stay positive and trust the doctors to do what is right but it scares me so much. I am so glad I have you all to talk with-everyone around me is trying to be supportive but they just don't know what to say.

Please take good care of yourselves and I'll try to post tomorrow after my appt.

Katie,

You are NEXT!!! Don't worry the anxiety is normal for this stage. Just remember everything you went thru to get here and it really is all right, you are strong, both of you will be fine!. Your belly is gorgeous! I will keep checking back on you, waiting for your annoucement!

Thanks for understanding about not checking in. It is bittersweet, but I still feel the need to come back and check until all my cycle buddies have their babies. I thought I was doing ok, but went to dentist yesterday and receptionist says "Did you have your baby"....she didn't know but I felt like someone had punched me. Miss you all!

Hey girls,

Steph Big Congrats to you and Andrew on the safe delivery of Ethan and Angeline, they sound perfect and thankfully didnt need to spend time in the Nicu. Hopefully you are resting after your op and Andrews family are not driving you insane!!

Sara so its a race between you and Katie for whos next  Sorry to hear about the protein and pre-eclamsia but if it means you and the babies are safer for an early delivery then so be it, i know it may not be what you wanted but your little ones will be fine xxxx

Franca cant help you in that department  At 22 wks i only felt Kayla a couple of times a day and usually her 1st kick wasnt till after lunch time, it wasnt till around 23-24 wks that it became more regular then it depended on which way she was facing if her bum was facing out i didnt feel much just her nudging my organs!!

Katie whoo hoo so reality is hitting with a bang!!! i can stay in the denial stage for another while longer lol, that was nice of your friend to be available to drive you to the hospital i would worry about you going on your own if Chris wasnt around. My mam only lives 10 mins away and worse case scenario jasons parents only live accross the road (while i love them to bits they are def. last option as knowing his mam she could easily telling me i am not in that much pain or pushing wrong!!) I am sure i will have plenty of time to wait for jason to come home labour takes ages right???? Love the bump and you do look like you are gonna pop  though its strange when strangers feel the need to comment!!! You really look like you have dropped so maybe not too much longer.

babyluv did you get to finish the work for dh??? it can be a pain doing something even if its simple when you are not in the mood.

Angela thats great you passed your glucose test. So how many wks more do you reckon you will work??? I hope you can take it easy.

Claud that would be so great if you could work partime and get best of both worlds, i hope to go partime too but i suppose it depends on my bosses defination of partime!!

AFM thanks for your wishes on our annivarsary though i suppose since we arent married its not really offical!!! Jason was sooooo delighted i forgot as its usually him and now he relies on my mother to remind him in the last few yrs! I am having a very lazy day today as i have a little bit of a cold but nothing serious, also today is a year since my last miscarriage which kinda makes me sad but then Kayla keeps moving around and makes me soooo happy!! I wouldnt change a thing and believe it has all happened for a reason. ugghhh my dogs are annoying me as i type one keeps farting i swear the smell is not natural and the other is snoring soooo loud!!!! Patience is a virtue.

gi xxxx
