hello ladies!

on day 4 of stims and went in for b/w and u/s today. Apparently I have a lot of follies (in part due to PCOS) which isn't necessarily a good thing. :? They said the size was good for some of them (between 8 and 10mm). So, now I am finished with Follistem. I continue Lupron in am and Menopure in pm. They reduced the amount of Menopure (150) for tonight but back to initial dose (225) on Friday. I've been on Lupron since 22 of Sept and was on BCP for 3 weeks before that. Has anyone else been on or is anyone else on this type of protocol?

And just to share a story about DH which may be TMI.... He decided at my appt today that maybe he should make a deposit and have it frozen in case something happens on ER day (good idea to have a back up plan, right?). So after we leave the hospital, I asked him how it went. He told me not too good. I asked why and he told me that they had all new DVDs and magazines and they were not his taste! I of course found this to be hilariously funny. Poor guy lol.

On another matter. My fertility clinic is located in a large hospital. Whenever I arrive for appointments, I must walk past the gift shop which has some of the cutest baby clothes/items displayed in the widows. Since my first appt last Nov, I have always enjoyed looking at the baby clothes and items and felt such happiness. However, today when I walked thru the doors and saw those clothes I was anxious and almost angry! What is wrong with me

Welcome! I completely understand and you are not alone. Since we started trying I always figured we would be successful and over two years bough all sorts of cute baby things (neutral gender cause we would be happy with either) and these baby things always cheered me up and gave me so much hope like I was half way there. But this month I no longer get any joy from looking at them and instead feel like its a cruel joke. I think we are just all a bit frustrated but soon WE WILL have our own cute little babies and it will all be worth it.

As for your protocol, mine was different so I can't say but from what I heard from others it sounds ok

Hey Anna! What is going on? I see you are getting ready for your FET, are you getting excited about it? Have you heard what Margi decided to do? My cycle finally started 7.5 weeks after the d&c. I also got the results from the genetics test on the baby we lost, don't remember if I told you or not, but it was a little girl with an extra chromosome 15 which is not compatible with life. They said it was rare, UGH, once again I am on the receiving end of rare. We just passed the 6 month mark since our son passed away too, so lately my plate has been full. But! I am ready to get the show on the road.
I am on bcps and start lupron the 25th, have a projected date of Nov. 15 for retrieval. Just in time for the holidays, yippee :) So my October cycle turned into a November one. Sheesh, hurry up and wait! It's what we do. haha

Anyway hello ladies, hope you don't mind my bouncing in here. :) By the way Hi Blair, nice to be doing a cycle together again...wish it would have worked out differently for us both. This time is it!

I saw a sign the other day that said: Faith is believing in what you hope for. I'm am sticking with this and reminding myself of it daily as I go through these next steps.

Mellow yay I am so happy to see you here. :D This is gonna be a great cycle for both of us :) It is great going through this with someone who has been through the previous troubles with you but this time around you and I are gonna move forward to the pregnant boards and stay there till our babies arrive :)

I am getting excited but a bit nervous too. My regular pap smear is tomorrow but since I had cervical cancer it is still with my oncologist and it still makes me nervous so I am gonna spend the next couple of weeks praying that the results are still good. I am sorry about everything you are going through I just can't imagine losing a child- it must be the worst kind of pain- I lost my fiance and childhood best friend 8 years ago and the loss was so painful I still hurt. Please hang in there and I am here if you need to talk. You can always pm me. Other than that we have now exhausted all of the tests and still nothing is wrong except for DH morphology so maybe that is just it-I just don't know. I will be doing the ET about a week before you so hopefully we will get to be 2ww buddies and get our BFP's for the holidays :D Anyways welcome and we are happy to have you.

BTW I think Margi is on the fall cycle boards and is stimming to do her iui this month-God willing she gets her bfp soon too

Anna, can't wait to get to November, it seems like it's been a long time coming. It is so nice to go through this with someone who understands, and has been there. Glad we have each other! :)

Hey everyone-
Its nice to see some familiar names on here- mellow and annashope, so hopefully its a good month for all of us on this board. Still doing daily Lupron, but excited that I get to stop the birth control Monday!!! The only down fall is that means I will be starting IM estrogen Thursday...Guess I should be excited though because it means we are getting closer to transfer.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Not too much longer until November and we will all end up with BFP! I think we should end the 2ww and have the pregnancy test the same week as our 3 year wedding anniversary, so hopefully its good news!

Blair

It is great seeing you here too. I am praying for an awesome cycle for all of us. We will do our beta about the same time as DH bday and he already said that a BFP is all he wants for his bday this year. God I hope I can get him his wish.

I wanted to ask is IM estrogen as awful as PIO? This will be natural cycle for me so I am not on any meds until trigger (I guess they have to pinpoint exact ovulation) but I opted for PIO instead of pessaries or creams. I hate the shot but I think it works the best. Actually you mentioning that you were on Lupron made this cycle more real for me :) thanks. Since I am doing nothing sometimes it feels like nothing is happening. Are you having any side effects? Lupron made me so dizzy and I was terribly emotional

Mellow!!: Margi here...had to crash when I saw your post. What a long wait you have for AF after the d/c....so sorry. But glad to hear you are revving up to get started and cycle with Annashope! It will be good to have a cycle buddy who so specially understands.

As Annashope says, I am trying IUI. With stims. It is the best we can manage to afford. Just started yesterday. I am struggling with the fact that I am on such a low dose...I tried to explain to the nurse, but she kept saying, they strive for only 3 good follies (I wanted to first laugh, then scream. 3?!?! :x on what planet would 3 43-yr old follies do me any good?) I ranted on the "BFN" thread so I won't repeat myself, but it is frustrating. I will talk to doctor on Tuesday when I go in for my u/s and HSG. I am a bit apprehensive as I hear they can be painful...any experience there?

Well--I am trying to keep up the PMA. I have been posting on the Fall thread--which is totally huge--but feel a bit out of place with my IUI instead of IVF. Oh, well. We are all headed for the same goal.

I will send so many prayers and well wishes both ways to you and to Annashope. It does brighten my day to hear about and from you two...we really did bond this summer. And thanks to both of you for all the support and love you showed me. You both have been through some unbearable pain and loss, but through it all demonstrate strength and grace. I really admire you both, and I really don't know how I would have made it through the miscarriage without y'all.

Take CARE of yourselves...every day. Cherish yourselves...and we will be chatting soon on the Pregnancy Board--ladies! Just as soon as we get this stimming, and transferring and inseminating stuff out of the way and get that BFP (Annashope for your DH's birthday)!!! That sticks strong and hard!!!

I don't know about you, but I am gonna need lots of support during 2ww+....as some of the ladies say, I anticipate a trip to Crazytown, so I might be needing some support...fear of beta Hell or miscarriage is worse than BFN fear...if you guys are here on this thread, I'll know where to find ya. :D

Baby dust to all you ladies on this thread...and thanks for putting up with my crash. It had to be done!

Margi, Margi!!! :) So glad to hear from you. I am praying for you, and will continue as long as needed. I understand feeling frustrated about the difference with the IUI. I did 4 before we moved to IVF, and one point my RE freaked me out about having 8 follies for an IUI and had me crying about what to do. We chose to go forward with it, because it was male factor that we were dealing with, and of course all the worry and stress for nothing because it didn't work like we knew it wouldn't. His count is horrible, they were just wasting our time. I know so many that IUI's work for, so I am keeping everything possible crossed, and praying hard for you. So excited for you, and believe me, you don't want the stress of having to even think about being harassed about the possibility of reducing a multiple pregnancy, way to stressful. Funny thing is, I should be getting my beta results on my birthday too, eek! I am praying for great, no make that Fantastic News! Please do keep us posted how it's going for you. Yay! So glad to hear from you.

Margi
I had an HSG and took 2 advil beforehand and if was nothing!! I think my pap smears are more painful. It was over in like 5 minutes. Don't worry and I will pray for you. Also I know lots of people for whom iui's worked. However in our case (similar to mello) DH morphology and count are pretty bad so iui does not help us unless we do donor sperm. Don't worry and we will be here for you.. actually in crazy town with you during the 2ww :D

Oh Margi, I forgot...take some advil before the procedure and you should be fine. There is a little cramping, but it's not bad. :) Let us know how it goes.

Hi All

Riogirl - the calendar looks great, thanks for putting it together!

Looks like everyone is doing great. I just saw a post about a lot of us have male factor and actually that is why I love this board. My Dh has pretty much bad everything when it comes to sperm, but we did finally get our miracle. Why RE said when we brought her in to introduce him that just think 10 years ago she would have never been a possible and thanks to ISCI she is the most perfect gift from god. I hope that help you ladies know that it can and will work for you too. I'm just hoping it will work again for us.

So, all is going well so far. My ovaries are awake and full. I'm getting a little uncomfortable but it seems to be happening so fast. I thought we would go into Nov. but it looks like it will be next weekend sometimes. I'm hoping for Saturday or Sunday, because I have an important work meeting on Monday that I hope not to miss. Keep your fingers crossed.

I Hope everyone has a nice weekend!!

Bichonmom- congrats on the follies growing! Getting umcomfortable is a good thing right now! My DH has male factor issues too. So we do ICSI, as well. We also do PGD mainly b/c of my age. I start Lupron tomorrow. So darn excited! Sending you lots of follie growing dust!
