Thanks sunshine and Kynlee for your relpy and I hope you will keep me posted on how things go for you both. It is amazing how many people are in the same boat!! But friends and family who have not been through this do not understand how you feel. And the clomid does make me ill and moody and as this is my 7th cycle and I wonder it is doing any good at all!! Acupuncture I hear is very good , so I am looking to give it a go before my IVF starts after Xmas.I was put on the list in March and told there was a years waiting list so not sure whether it will be dead on March or whether they give you the drugs before then.

Thanks again for your post.

Hi everyone. I've been following this site for about a week now trying to get the courage to post something. I'm extremely new to the IVF process. God has blessed me to have a son 3 1/2 years ago after being told I could not have any children due to severe endo and fibroids so imagine my surprise. Because of my conditions I almost lost him 3 times during my pregnancy. I was in the hospital more during my pregnancy than I was out. And even with all of that, I want to do it all again. However, we've been trying since then and with no luck. I ovulate but my OB/GYN still put me on Clomid. I developed cysts as a side effect in my breasts and just had surgery to have those removed. I am 36 and the chances of me having another baby is reducing as the days go by. So now we're considering IVF. Our appointment is in 2 weeks and I'm clueless about this entire process. I've researched the web and this forum has been the best place for information. My honey works out of town and is gone 95% of the time each month so I have no support. My family does not want me to have anymore children because of the tough time I had with my previous pregnancy. So I guess my biggest thing is, with the injections and the emotional and physical stresses of this process and the reality that I will more than likely be doing this alone while raising a toddler, does anyone have any advice on how to make this process work. I can't afford to keep waiting so I'd like some input on what I can expect if anyone can help.

Hi Justsolost...

Im sorry to hear you have had such a hard time with everything... I only started my IVF treatment about 4 weeks ago and before I started I hadnt got a clue about any of it...

I have had injections for about 3 weeks to down regulate and then a withdrawal bleed and a blood test and then i start on the injections to make me produce eggs... (Still dont know the names of any of the drugs!! :? )
I have just been for my first scan today to see how the eggs are developing and have been told my egg collection will be in about a week... they are taking it slowly with my because there is a chance i could go polysystic...

Starting to get excited about the whole process now... i have to say its not as bad as i thought it would be so far...

It is a very emotional time and I can tell you are already feeling it... Such a shame you havent got any support... I have the support from my partner but i have confided in my best firend and my mum... its nice to have people you can talk to about it... and they understand why i might be upset or moody and can see things from a differnt point of view to my partner...

Dont be scared to ask any questions on here... i dont know much but there are lots of people who do and everyone is so lovely on here, we are all going through the same thing for many different reasons...

Good luck & keep us posted :D

Rachel... What are you on a waiting list for til march??? I agree it is nice talking to people that understand what you are going through.. I find this forum very helpful and I have meet alot of great people on here too...

LousieP887- Everyone is welome.... :) Where are you in the IVF world??? Have you started meds yet? I had my ET almost 2weeks ago and find out Monday if I am preggo... :)

Justsolost- I know how you feel i was on the web for sometime till I got the courage but then you realize we are all in the same boat and it feels nice to chat with other women going through the same thing as you... :) i am also new to the IVF world... 36 is still ok, there are women in there 40's on here having babies so I think IVF is a good start for help :) I dont know to much but learn new things everyday about IVF, I already went for ER and ET so I am now waiting 4 more days for results... I have done all my meds and have learned every step of the way, if there are any questions I can try to help you with or maybe someone else from this page will chime in with info... Everyone is so great with helping eachother get through this... Its a scary world but well worth it in the end... :)

I only have my husband to talk to about ivf, we have not told our families or friends cause my husband wants to keep it between us... But finding friends on here has really helped... I have meet some really good friends through this process and they have helped make this journey easier then expected....

Sunshine Good LUck keep us posted :)

Hi everyone. I wanted to say thanks so much for the responses. I'm really excited to be apart of this group. You guys are so supportive!! I'm googling things I'm seeing on the forum because I have NO CLUE what most of this means. When I saw the RE a couple of weeks ago she said that I needed to be 'suppressed'. What that means, :?: So I'm googling that too. She said first thing to do is suppress me with BCP or Lupron. I think I may have sounded like an idiot with my response because I said, 'wait, no, we WANT to get pregnant'. She kinda laughed and said we'll talk more in detail at my 1st appointment which is on the 26th. Does anyone know what being 'suppressed' means? And why would she put me on BCP when I'm trying to get pregnant?

Sunshine1576-Wow!! Does that mean you wait for a pregnancy test now?

Phyona-Thanks for the support and information. I hope your eggs are growing!!

Kynlee-Does that mean that the next step for you too is a pregnancy test? What are the steps in this process? I mean do I see her and she put me on injections if I don't want to be 'suppressed'? Hopefully by this time next week I'll be an IVF dictionary.

I know I'm missing replying to more mommies but forgive me. I've got to go back and re-read the posts and then I'll be on my A-game.

Hi RachealRad! I'm with you on getting healthier. I'm hoping that exercising along with some weight loss will help with this process. Were you put on a waiting list for health reasons?

Hey Just so Lost

I got pregnant last year but lost it at 11 weeks so I can get pregnant but because i have a blocked fallopian tube it is taking alot longer than we thought so they put us on the waiting list and the clomid hoping that I won't need the IVF so we will have to wait and see.

Have you started IVF?

Rachelrad, I'm soooo sorry for your lost. I would've been so devastated! You guys are so strong to go on this journey again.
I pray all goes well this time.

No I haven't started IVF yet. I'm hoping to very soon. I meet with the RE in 2 weeks. I have done Clomid for about 6 months then did an IUI which was unsuccessful. I have severe Endo, fibroids & cysts so I have some issues while my honey has none. His count and motility is great. So we're praying this procedure works for us.

justsolost- yes I go for my pregnancy test Monday 630 am and should no by late afternoon...:) This is my first round of ivf, it has been a long jurney so to get this far is exciting... Believe me I ams till learning things about ivf and all these abbreviations that everyone uses :) Lots of knowledgeable women on here and very great support ... I dont know what suppress means, but I know alot of women that had to start with bcp, my doctor thought I would have to but then said I didnt need to so you may get the same answer when you go back...

Rachel- Good luck with everything, march will be here before you know it... :) So sorry about you losing the baby, that must have been real hard...

Best of luck to everyone, keep me posted :)
