Think it's all over for me

Post by thetowers »

:(
Felt sick all morning and hoped it was a good sign. Started low back pain and stomach pain like AF was coming, 12 days post transfer and not due to test until 21st. Some light bleeding just started. Absolutely gutted as now thinking this must be it all over now.

Janice.
me 38, DP 35. 1st try at IVF, EC 3/5 6 eggs, ET on 5/5 2 embryos, nil for freezing.

Janice

Its not the end...Do not give up!

I had exactly the same symptoms, cramps, brown discharge (like before af arrives). Even when I went and bought the HPT in Boots I felt such a fraud, as my belly hurt so much while I was at the counter, just like af pains. I was thinking "why am I spending £11 on this damn thing"
I even went and painted the kitchen doors and skirting, which I would have never have done if Id have known!!!

Then 3 days later, tested and got a BFP

Sadly it ended in miscarriage at 9 weeks though (only last Sunday) :(

Please try and stay positive .

Lots a Love

Janice, the pg board is full of people who had AF-like pains / symptoms / twinges / light bleeding or a combination of them all. It doesn't necessarily mean AF is here. Anyone who has been on the 2WW (and I've had 3) know EXACTLY what it is like to try and remain positive when your body is sending mixed messages.

Do stay positive and calm. The 21st isn't far away :)

love
Debra.

I am right there with you buddy , hang on to the hope and you will get there in the end, now today I BOUGHT MYSELF A NEW PHONE THAT HELPED A BIT AND TOMORROW WHO KNOWS WHAT I WILL BUY!!!! still do a test on the 21st I think cause there is miricals in the air , you need some mirical dust from Dolly . do what ever makes you feel like you can get through this , it is tough but time does heal and as soon as you are ready to get a next date ready it will fly by and be here before you know it . DH and you should do some nice things together as it does take a toll on the relationship and it is always important to fight things head on together with this IVF lark you will be very stronge with it when you come out the other side ,

D, K, C & S - thanks, it is hard but seeing others being through sometimes so much more helps to stop me feeling sorry for myself. Don't know if i will try again - worried now I am getting too old - 39 in August.

T - thx - we're both going through it just now and you're right what you say bout testing Fri - you never know maybe just one lost embry causing all this and another still there :? . All cried out now though and just thinking what can i change - thinking maybe new job, new house just something new to compensate for the lifestyle change that didn't quite happen.

Off work sick just now as cramps really bad - still got this cycle to pay off (had put it on the visa) so probably once my body and bank balance gets somewhat back to normal will give it another go.

Take care all. I'll be back. J.x (a

Janice

Just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear your news. As for decisions - just leave those and go out and spend some time with your other half and try and get some enjoyment back in to your life without being on the rollercoaster. My first IVF had no frosties and I felt the age think - slightly younger than you - will be 38 in July but I got back on the ghost train and off I went - got frosties the next time so don't worry about the age issue too much unless they are saying otherwise. Time will give you the opportunity to stand back and decide whether to try again. In your shoes I would (and have) but I am not you - if you can find the strength go again - try not to regret what you haven't done in life.
Sorry once again
Love
Tracey

Hi Janice,

I don't want to give you false hope but just thought I would share my story with you. Just over a week into the 2WW on my second IVF cycle in November last year I got all my usual af symptoms - cramps in stomach and legs, felt irritable etc, exactly the same as I felt during my first negative IVF cycle earlier in the year. Then af kicked in with a vengeance - (sorry to be graphic) but full on proper bright red bleeding for 6 days constantly.

I was so convinced treatment hadnt worked that I didn't even bother testing. I rang my clinic who also told me not to bother coming in and put my cycle down as a negative outcome. I started drinking again and decorated the lounge It was only when I started feeling funny a few days later that my mum persuaded me to do a hpt. I resisted for a few days as I knew it would be negative and would just upset me but eventually I did one just to shut my mum up and what do you know it was positive!!! The clinic couldn't believe it either. I then had a nerve wracking 3 wk wait for my first scan but everything was fine. The consultant said they didn't know why I had bled and that some women just do.

I am now 27 wks pg with my much longed for son Daniel.

As I said, I am not trying to give you false hope, but miracles can happen. Please make sure you test on your test date just to make sure.

I will be thinking of you

Take care, love Julie xx

Thanks T, i don't want to have regrets thats why i did IVF after 16 years infertility and thinking it wouldn't work and I probably will, as long as body allows, keep trying.

Thanks too J, i was all cried out and now you've made me cry again :D (but happy tears) not that i am getting my hopes up but if maybe just maybe i could be the same as you i would never ask for anything again.

Will test Fri, still got one last test to do anyway and Traci you said luck is around so will let you's know.
