OOOO 7 weeks - thats SO exciting!! I think after 50 days (7 weeks) the chances of miscarriage take another big step down. HOOOORRRAH!!

Just to say -I have had backache on a off for days. exactly as you describe. No pregnancy book seems to mention this - its always about late pregnancy backache - but I asked my doctor about it and he was pretty relaxed - said its the same movements and stretching thats going on in the front!

My boobs definately smaller and less painful and lots of achey feeling in the old ovaries still - CANNOT believe this is what I'm fretting about - what has my world come to eh?!
Night all!

Hello

It seems that we all worry about everything. i have no symptoms at all, I had small boobs in the first place and they are still small!

I don't feel anything else. Like you Caz I sometimes get these funny pains but they seem in the wrong place, on both sides right down close to the join between my stomach and my leg. i can't really describe where. It happens sometimes when I stand up and we get a bit worried about it.

I still have more than a week to go before my scan and I just can't feel relaxed till I go there.

We all must just accept that we are pregnant really and likely to stay that way. But that is easier said than done.

Well - semi-pregnant (only in our minds) wimps that we are! Tania, you're so right, we are all there, but it seems easier to worry and prepare for a disaster than to just enjoy it...wonder whether 'normal' pregnancies go through that...!?
Anyway, did another HPT this morning (only my second, so I hope that's OK) and it was +ve; thank GOD! Then also had to hurl over the loo, so quite happy about that...!
By the way, I also have these little twinges where I think ovaries may be (but not that clued up on my own anatomy), and the doc at my clinic said that's absolutely normal, because they've been so stimulated with the drugs and have actually been through the mill, that it'll take a while until they go down (they can see on the scan that they are still enlarged).
Anyway, should be 7 weeks today, so just over half-way to the 12-week milestone...!
Happy worrying and nerves of stell to us all! Hope you are all doing well!
Gem - BEST OF LUCK for tomorrow! Do let us know how it all went and what they're telling you, because want to know as much as possible, there might be more things to worry about... !
Lots of love,
bina

Perhaps we should move over to the adoption forum and give this lot a break!
Right first of all DAgny - she is fine - I texted her yesterday and she replied back she is taking a few days off the site (though back on today) as a bit depressed and scared about her tmt - having been there myself and losing Oliver at 20 weeks I know why etc so have given her a pep talk - the bloods were fine I think!

AS for you lot - symptoms start kicking in around 8 weeks and some later for others....... they can come and go to begin with which is very annoying as I kept thinking of vanishing sack syndromes and m/c's etc. These are rare and disappearing symptoms are normal. The pains in the back gem are not you lot with questions ( ) but the progesterone - either natural or pessaries or both - you will all find your ligaments softening and this happens - it does improve until you carry these lard arses around inside and then bam back again  The weight you are putting on is nothing to do with little cashew nut inside but the fact that everything is stretching etc and the uterus is already stretching to prepare itself - some of this will be wind or hot air in my case
Sex - do what you are happy with - there is not point in worrying about damage as that will spoil the sex - wait for the go ahead if this makes you feel better and soon you will relax but make the most of it as most of you will feel sick or nauseous and not always up to it! Try and drink plenty of water. I am a firm believer in things being psychomatic - I had my scan and immediatley started on morning sickness etc - very weird. Not long to wait for you all know - knicker checking will be there for at least 12 weeks and then you will get a break and now I am doing it to make sure not having a show.
Hope this answers all your questions. Sure there will be more!
ME - well 28 weeks on Friday and they have a 90% chance then - one is breech and the other head down so they think natural birth. I have another scan next thursday and still have worries they have stopped growing etc. I think I am used to the bump and think it's not that large but everyone else thinks otherwise - looks as if someone has come along and just stuck it on the front. Will relax in the garden today - vitamin d from sunshine by the way is good for them!
Take care you lot and catch you soon - I do like this thread as makes me laugh!
Love

Good luck for your scan gems

I am looking forward to hearing how it went. Let us know asap!

You all seem to have blood tests and I have never had one and was told I wouldn't be getting one next week when I go for my scan. Is this odd?

HI tania- just to say - my clinic doesnt do blood tests - I am doing them seperately , off my own back, just to reassure myself that my HCG levels are going up (I kind of know that in the first few weeks they should about double evry 2 days) - because unless I see some concrete numbers I just can't believe it. But ignore me - its not necessary , I have just turned into a compulsive neurotic!!

Well, pleased we're providing entertainment value to our lovely surrogate mothers/advisers! It is quite funny really what we can find to worry about!
Tania, my clinic only did bloods at the first scan at 2 weeks and not since, so I honestly wouldn't worry! It does just seem to be different practices by different clinic. AND I'm not worried about it, which is actually quite amazing!
Gem - best of luck for today! Do tell us all about it when you get back!

Feeling a 'little bit pregnant' this morning and think some of the girls at work have noticed my tummy sticking out, but try to ignore it until the 12-week scan....

Best of luck to you all.

Hello

I am scanning Thurs 27th May, (6 and a half weeks) Sounds early?

My tummy has always been sticking out, I thought it was the pessaries, otherwise I don't know why I haven't been able to do my trousers up for a long time.

Gems

Hope all goes well today -can't wait to find out how many!!!
Caz - glad you are not worried about the spot!!!

Bina - put those flaming tests away - honestly you are pg! Might as well pee on a lolly stick

Right HCG and bloods - it is not as simple as doubling every day - this is a good indicator so far in the first few days - and by the way those bloods are fine - where they should be. then they have a rest and then might double or nearly double - it is not scientific so if you try working out your "doubles" and come up with this ridiculous number and you are not there you lot start panicking when all actually ok. You don't need bloods now you are all fine!
Good luck and happy sunbathing those who can

Hi girls,
Just read your thread and must say I still very well remember how it feels, these early days with terrible insecurity and somehow feeling one is not quite pregnant! I am now 19w5days and still cannot quite believe it! I've had friends who started talking about their pregnancy and their symptoms since day 1 and I've never dared except on this site. Anyway I will be keeping my fingers crossed for all of you, don't expect much symptoms until 8 weeks and even then everyone is so different, I was not sick much although I was very sensitive to smells and retched a bit but did not throw up and that worried me too! Honestly with IVF and all we've been through the worrying never stops but do enjoy in between! I will be watching out for your scan results!

Hi all you lovely ladies
We have one lovely baby with a strong heartbeat,it measures what it should for 7 weeks and 1 day :D :D :D we go for our 9 week scan on 2nd June so another 2 ww wait.We are so happy its so hard to think that another heartbeat is beating inside of me.I got my dates right I was 7 weeks yesterday,I was so nervous this morning I was laid in bed at 6am wide awake thinking about the scan,we've just come back from a lovley lunch its so nice to have dh back but very frustrating  I forgot to ask about sex at the clinic I think we might have to give in soon or see if we can wait til our 9 week scan.
Caz so happy your levels have gone up so now try and relax, which day is your scan?
Bina you made me laugh about the pg test I've got one left and I was tempted this morning.
Tania Not long til your scan and no it doesnt sound early I should have had mine last thursday but the dr was off sick so thats why I've had one today at 7 weeks.
They also saw an empty sac on my scan which measured 5 weeks which she said loooked like it had implanted but had come away so it should absorbe back but they will check on the next scan,we were so happy we had one healthy heartbeat,my ovaries are still enlarged which is common for after ivf treatment which is prob why my belly is big and there was a dark area which was enlarged which is common so that might explain my backache its easy to forget we have been trough ivf with all the drugs as well as get pregnant it takes a few weeks for everything to go down after the drugs.Tracey are you going to try for a normal birth? bet you cant belive how which time is going, when is your due date?
Sorry to hear Dagny is feeling down but it is to be excepected as wasnt her daughter due next month which must be so hard as well as start treament again,we are all here if she needs us,but understand that she as to have a few days away.
I can stop the pessaries when they run out which is tonight,is this ok I haev some left over from the Oct/Nov cycle so I could carry on an dtake them, but I know our bodies make our own now we are are pregnant so I can stop them tonight,it just makes you feel better doing somthing,if you know what I mean.
Well I've had a lovley day of work with dh and i'm out tonight on a leaving do at a chinese,my best friend who works at the same school is leaving to go to Camp America in June til Oct I will be gutted to see her go as she as been my rock during treatment and a very good friend so 21st June will be a sad day.
Hope everyone else is ok and not worrying too much
Love gemxxx

GEm

How wonderful - I had assumed you had both gone out for lunch rather than being worried about you. You are a card though - I really think it would be best and nice if you set up your own thread with this news - why don't you copy and paste all your news and set up a thread so the others can find it easily.
I never had another scan at 9 wks - my clinic don't do them so had to sweat it out until 12 - yikes!!!! Sounds like you are doing fine and honestly it is fine to stop the pessaries - you don't need to hunt out any more. I do understand what you mean though - they (even tho they drive me round the twist) become like crutches and I immediately thought I would lose my babies when I stopped - this last time I stopped a few days early as they were driving me crackers! Hot flushes and bloating and all sorts! Just stop them you will be fine.
As for sex - it is really ok but you could just ring the clinic and ask a nurse - they won't mind - just to make sure but there is nothing I have read to indicate there is a problem - up to both of you of course but I would wedge in a few sessions before you feel sick
Dagny is fine - she has a bad day today as her best friend is giving birth to her second and this baby and Dagny's would have grown up together. She actually is very strong so she will pull through I know.
AS for me well have been enjoying the garden and went round for a friends for coffee this morning and left my adolescent dog to eat all the fish food and generally be naughty like toddlers are  She can be a right one! My due date is 13th August but think I might be having another spurt! Yikes - have a scan next thursday and am 28 weeks this Friday which is a big milestone in twins and well singletons as they have a 90% chance of survival!
Last time they said all ok for a natural - I know if I pushed otherwise they would do what I wanted. Head one is down and they don't think she will move as she is a stubborn git (can't imagine for one moment where she gets it  ) and the other is breach and think she might stay like that or transverse as twin one is hogging the space and the other one is being feisty and trying to snatch some back (not sure where that comes from either??? ) so if twin one stays head down they suggest a natural regardless of twin two which might turn after delivery of one or they will turn (ouch) or will deliver breach (even more ouch) - but as I am in for close monitoring we have to see.
Must dash - need a drink - cold and non alcoholic of course!
I am thrilled for your news and can't resist it TOLD YOU SO!!!!!
Love
Tracey
