Tomorrow is my anatomy scan :D :D :D :D I am sooooo impatient, I need to know if it is a boy or girl. I told DH he is finding out this time cause I have waited to long already for this baby   Plus, then I can get all my girl stuff from my DD out and ready. Or start to dig through all my sis left over clothes from her kids if it is a boy. I'll be happy one way or another. My DD wants a sis :| I'm sure she will be fine to have a brother also. I told her God decides if it is a boy or girl, not us. Can't wait, can't wait, ohhhhh and can't wait

Thanks everyone :D My DD I know wanted a sis, when we told her she said " Ohhh, c'mon " She is excited I think . She was helping me with all my sis old boys clothes sorting them. She will be a great sister. I told her she will never have to share her barbies  We are excited too. It will be nice to experience both a girl and now a boy. Now I have to decide to tie my fallopian tube or not. I am high risk for tubal pregnancies. I only have one tube which isn't blocked but I couldn't get pregnant naturally. My DH has low morphology, I have only one tube and were both 38. I will be having a c-section so I thought maybe I should just tie it off. If I ever want to do IVF again, we still can. I guess I just hope we could maybe have an "oops baby".I did get pregnant naturally with my DD. I am leaning towards tying it off. I had 2 tubal pregnancies before and they are scary . It just seems weird to tie my tube off but I'm not 100% sure if I'm done having kids. :?

jenice - a boy! How exciting. I too had to make the decision about tying my tubes. I am really pretty certain I am done having kids, but I keep saying what if, so I decided not to do it.

julia - I love ultrasound scans, it is just so amazing. I am glad you got to see everyone and they are doing well. 25 weeks is really early for a hospital bag, but my OB wants me prepared just in case. I am fairly certain I will have another c-section, so I might have more than you would need if you were just staying overnight. I have a robe, slippers, nursing pj's, two outfits, toiletries, shower shoes, undies (I don't like the mesh ones they give you), nipple cream, nursing pads, nursing bras. For the babies I have a few outfits, burp clothes, blankets and wipes (our crazy hospital doesn't give you wipes, they expect you to use wet paper towels... seriously). They will give your baby clothes, and blankets, but my daughter had a skin reaction to the detergent they used, so this time I plan on playing it safe and I will put them in our clothes.

I have a decent belly now, it is getting hard for me to bend over and everyone is asking to help me=)

Hi Everyone
Glad to see that everyone is doing well :)

Jenice-Congrats on the boy! I had to laugh when you told your DD that at least she wont have to share her Barbies! I think my mom told my brother something along those lines when we were growing up!

PA_FA-Glad that you had your last trip. That must be a relief!

Sorry to be so short on personals but its been quite and exhausting few days.

AFM-Had my baby shower yesterday, the twins got such great (and adorable!) stuff. We were very lucky with everyone's generosity. I went to my OB today. Had a scan and he made the decision to take me out of work. I wasnt prepared for that at all! Im only 23 weeks!!! He said no strict bedrest is needed and at this point he feels its more precautionary than anything. He said that since my job involves a lot of lifiting, standing, reaching that it would be best. My little boy baby is jammed up against my cervix and has been for over a month and they have noticed a very very small amount of thining so they hope this will keep it from getting any worse. Not looking forward to telling my boss tomorrow, I dont know if you guys rememeber but he wasnt very supportive when he found out I was pregnant so Im sure he wont be very happy with this. Anyone else get pulled out of work? Purple with your last set of twins did you work up until delivery?

Talk to you ladies soon be well :D

Hi Kitty_mom - Wow, I can't believe you're done with work already, but it sounds like your doctor wants to keep you and those babies safe and healthy.

I was reading your post to my husband and I told him that you're my *pregnancy twin* since we're both 36 yo who went though IVF and are carrying boy-girl twins due on Valentines Day! He thinks it's so amazing to find someone in such an exact situation.

I plan on working as long as I can, however I travel quite a bit for work. I drove to Madison, WI a couple of weeks ago which takes me about 2.5 hours each way without traffic, but I was so uncomfortable that I decided that I would not be doing any more driving trips longer than 2 hours and for those farther destinations I will fly. I plan on flying through the end of the year unless my OB advises against it. However, I've opted not to go to a conference in Vancouver this week. Between the flight and the 15 hour days I would have it's just too much. I am trying to find alternatives so some of my meetings have been amenable to phone calls, webcasts, and even Skype! I love modern technology. My manager and I worked out a plan that she can give me some projects that I can complete from home beginning in Dec and through Jan.

Doing lots of things to get ready for the babies! The Container Store had their Elfa shelf sale so we put together their closet this weekend. I've attached pictures.
We also had a friend give us 2 brand new cribs including organic sheets and pillows :) So their room is slowly coming together! And during a work meeting last week, my colleagues threw me a surprise babies shower and I got *baby pharmacy* items, some towels and booties, but the biggest gift was they all pitched in and gave us a gift check which is the exact amount of the double stroller we've been eyeing! We couldn't believe it!

So, it's really happenening! And I can't believe how quickly time is flying - it's the end of our 2nd trimester! I hope everyone is doing well and getting rest!

Kitty - I am sure it is not what you expected having to leave work so soon, but it is much better to be safe and over-cautious. I was able to work until whenever, but I also had a job where I sat all day. I ended up quitting about 25 weeks, because we ended up moving across the country for my husband's work (not something I recommend doing at 28 weeks). I would say try to enjoy your time off, prepare for the babies and relax. Hopefully your boss doesn't give you too much grief.

mev - I love the closets! Very organized. It sounds like you got a lot of great stuff!

Hello everyone
You'd think since I was home on Maternity House Arrest I'd have more time to post! I dont know how I ever got anything done while I was working :) Now that the shock has worn off I am glad to be able to be home. Keeping my little twins in there as long as possible is the only thing that matters!

How is everyone else doing?

mev0630-My dear pregnany twin how are you? The twins closet looks great. I have to admit I love going into our twins closet and seeing their little clothes hanging up it makes me smile everytime! Now if my DH would just get the rest of his boxes out of there we could bring in all the stuff we got from our shower!

Purple-How's it going momma? Maybe you could throw out some twin tips for getting them on a schedule once they come home from the hospital. Everyone tells me to keep them on the same schedule, but I was always under the impression that babies set their own schedule :D Any pointeres would be much appreciated.

PA_FA-How are you coping with being out of work? Did you make it up to Salem? Hope you had a great anniversary.

Hopeeveryone is doing excellent.

Kitty- nope never made it to Salem. :( It got vetoed for costing too much. I really wish we had gone though. We did drive to NYC and got really great seats to see Wicked. So we did that and had dinner for our anniversary. I'm sorry you are on house arrest but you keep those babies warm and safe for the long winter! :)

AFM- Had my ECHO today and her heart is lookin great. They have adjusted my due date to Feb 11. Not sure why...it should be pretty positive with the IVM. I think my peri dr was confused about ivm vs ivf. Who knows....anyhow. She is weighing in at 1 lb 11oz. I am still down 7lbs from my start weight at the beginning of pregnancy.

I hope everyone is doing great.

Getting them on the same eating schedule is a very good sanity saver especially if you plan to nurse. Otherwise you might feed baby A, go to sleep for an hour and then Baby B might need to eat so you are back up in an hour, where if you had fed them both at the same time you might have been able to get 3 hours of sleep. Make sense? Getting them on the same feeding schedule was pretty easy for us, you just feed one when the other is crying to be fed. This may mean you have to wake a sleeping baby, but they quickly adjust. Ours wanted to be fed at the same time with-in a few weeks.

Getting them on the same sleeping schedule is tougher, it took us about a month. There is nothing you can really do to make a baby sleep. You can make it dark, you can be calming, but seriously beyond drugging them (I am sure every new parent has wished for baby unisom) there is not much you can do to make them sleep. Our system for this was my husband and I would each pick a baby at night and sleep when that baby slept and ignore the other baby and spouse if they were up. This way we each weren't up all night. Another way to do it would be shifts, but this might be hard if you aren't comfortable carrying both babies at once.

Also I would be happy to answer any breastfeeding questions, and offer encouragement. If you want to breastfeed your twins (if you don't that is okay too), you can do it! I really worked hard and struggled with it, but I was able to breastfeed both, without formula supplementation. There is a lot of breastfeeding support, but not a lot of people who have actually breastfed twins and know how to do it. This has actually inspired me, when all the kids are all old enough to be in school, I am going to become a lactation nurse specializing in multiples.

On a side note, I am freaking out just a little. If I go to 36 weeks again... it is only 9 weeks to go... wow!
