Hi I just joined the board today! I happened to look at the discussions and saw this one and I was happy to see that I can reply to this discussion :)

I had my first IVF treatment December 2009 and it was in the middle of a Holiday trip and with the stress of packing and getting ready for vacation, I took my pregnancy test abroad and it was Negative  This was my 1st IVF but the 2nd attempt with infertility ( I had an IUI in July 2009 and it was negative) I had my second IVF procedure early this month (20 eggs removed, 13 fertilized via ICSI, and 9 became embryos) but had 2 fresh Blastocycsts transferred and they finally stuck! :D I had a positive blood test Oct. 11th and took a HPT on Oct. 15th and it was positive as well. My hCG level was low at my first blood test 48 out of 50 and then waited a few days and took another blood test and the level was higher :D While I am very excited, a part of me is still very scared that something might go wrong so I am trying to keep all of my activities and stress levels to a minimum to keep my lil peanut! I have tons of questions, like how many "weeks" am I? Am I just 1 week or 5 weeks according to the pregnancy calculators? When can I resume "normal" activities with my husband? When will these small cramps leave and are they normal? When will I have my first ultrasound, etc. (see I have tons of questions  )

Right now I am now being monitred weekly instead of every other day so that's a big relief for me (*Phew)

Does anyone else have a positive result after an IVF treatment?? Would love to hear from you :)

Hi all,

Just notice this thread and since you're looking for success stories I'm happy to share mine. We started our first round of IVF in September 2010, had 22 eggs retrieved, 21 fertilized with ICSI and, and 2 blasts transfered on Oct 7th. Science, miracle, and God came together and one was sticky! We heard the heartbeat for the first time yesterday...it's amazing. RE tells me I'm 7 weeks along now and we are just praying that everything continues to go well.
I know many people have been trying to conceive for many years and have been through countless rounds of IVF. I can't imagine that journey, but our journey felt long too. Even one single day of feeling like a pin cushion, wanting something you know other people have so easily (while we were TTC my sister in law got pregnant with twins naturally the month after she went off BC), or being nervous (2WW, 2 days between 1st and 2nd beta, watching for OHSS etc etc etc) makes this process arduous. Keep on keeping on. Like they say, good things come to those who wait.

Good luck everyone :)
Me- 26 (perfect)
DH- 33 (questionable low morphology)
Conceived naturally- miscarried at 6 wks
3 Failed IUIs on Clomid and Ovidril
1st IVF Sep-Oct 2010
22 retrieved, ICSI on 21
2 blasts transfered/ 1 frozen
BFP!!! THANK GOD

I love hearing these stories boy it really brings up my moral which I need I have had IUI and didnt take I am going to be starting my first IVF cycle because I was advised I was no longer a candidate for clomid since my cervix lining is higher than it should be I am at a 12.94 and should be 10 or below and my progesterone level is also low. So I made the decision that if I have to pay $1000.00 for injections per cycle with IUI or IVF I might as well just go with the IVF I pray it works as we have only been able to save enough money for 1 try. I and my husband are both 34 years of age his sperm is only half normal and motility has been low as well. I will start my BCP next month and move froward with IVF procedure in January I am so darn nervous and scared I hope that is normal I am just so scared it wont work and I want nothing more than to be a mother.

I had my first IVF in July after 8 years trying to conceive with the (infertile) love of my life. We had a good cycle: moderate OHSS but they transferred 2 good-quality blastocysts and froze 5 more. My first beta was low (86 @ 10dp5dt) and rose too slowly, so the clinic was very guarded about our chances. Our first ultrasound at 6w2d showed a giant gestational sac, but it was completely empty, so the RE told us to prepare for miscarriage. My husband and I suffered bitterly for a week. We kept waiting for me to bleed and agonizing about our frozen embryos being "defective" too. But at 7w2d everything changed: the second ultrasound showed a yolk sac and a fat little embryo with a rapidly beating heart.

Since then we haven't had the slightest reason to worry. In our case, the worry really did come to an end. Our daughter is due in April and we can't wait to meet her.

By the way, of the stories I've encountered so far on this board, angelaezra's is the most amazing. Anyone who needs inspiration after an unsuccessful cycle should just take a quick look at her signature.

Hi all,
I am new to the board and wanted to share my story. I had 11 eggs retrieved on Oct. 24 and five days later two were transferred. Seems to have worked as we are 8 weeks pregnant now. I live in the NYC area and went to Genesis Fertility. I had a great experience with them - the shots and meds weren't that great, but they make it so you can talk to an IVF nurse 24/7, so any stressful issue or question I had was answered asap.
Glad to meet you all.
Best,
fabiana
