When I said they will look carefully at the tubes, I should have mentioned they will also examine the uterus. But with abnormally rising hCG, an ectopic pregnancy is high on the list of suspects.Krys wrote:Ghost- I know it's depressing welcome to my life lately...
Will they be able to see if it's in my tubes just from an
ultrasound and if it is what do they usually do to get it out.
Are tubal pregnancies something that some people are prone
to??? I really know nothing about them. What if they see nothing
in my tubes and my numbers keep going up slowly what
could be causing this??
You might not have an ectopic pregnancy. If it's ectopic, then it's probably in a tube. But there are other possibilities.
I suppose it might resume rising and result in a live birth. But I have never seen one like this do so.
The two most likely scenarios are that it just fades away on its own (we call those chemical pregnancies because they are only detected chemically by tests for hCG), or it might rise slowly, or linger in the hundreds, fluctuating up and down a bit. The latter is a pretty good sign of an ectopic.
When they do the ultrasound, they may or may not see it. If it's in the uterus or the tubes, they will probably see it. But if it's not, then we call it a "pregnancy of unknown location". Embryos have been known to implant in many places. If it's not in the uterus, then treating it with medications is usually effective.
