June Cycle Buddies

Post by DebraP »

Hello Girlies....just checked through the other buddy threads and I can't see anything for those of us starting in June......although I suspect there will be quite a few of us, including a few of the usual suspects

We only decided to go ahead last weekend so except for calling our clinic and letting them know...I've not done much preparation. I have rejoined the gym and am going every day - a bit late but better than never (?) and as of this evening, no more alcohol, back onto litres of skimmed milk and upping my fruit intake. I don't smoke or drink coffee so I don't have those to worry about. But I did turn 40 a month ago so that's hardly in my favour....never mind. We're all in this together!

What preparations are you all doing? Anyone got firm dates yet? I start down-regging on 26th, auto-injecting Puregon on 8th June and have a scan on 17th, I guess if all goes well I'll have EC/T the week after(?). One lucky thing is that I work in education so the summer is really quiet and so by EC/ET I'll be free to focus on the tmt.

Looking foward to the next month!
love Debra.

Good luck. My DH and I started yesterday, so my retrival will be at the end of May--and implantation first week of June. I'm a bit ahead of you, but I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Hi girls
downregging at the moment AF due on Wednesday but is alwasys a little late so expecting it Friday. Having donor eggs so no much for me to do at the moment. I'm really chilled out and just carrying on with things. I'm sure when it gets to E/C stage I'll be really nervous. Hoping we get one good egg!
I think we are looking at E/T around the first week of June but I'll know more in a week or so when we get to stims.
Hope your doing OK there are a few of us split between May and June so a little confused as to where to go.
good luck with the treatment fingers crossed

Hello! 8)
Yes I am doing the June thing too!! So thought I'd join you all here as well as May and May/June cycle buddies! (posting all over the place!)

How are you all? I'm d.regging at the mo and hopefully starting stimms 2nd June. Was feeling a bit rubbish the first two weeks with quite a few side effects but fine now...(sunshine does that I think!) Just need to relax now as I'm self employed and have cancelled all work from here...So no stressin now!!

Well good luck to you all! We can keep track of each other...

Hi Kel (and Dana and Aly)

Kel, it's been ages since I down-regged. What kind of symptoms do you have? I think I was warned last time that I would feel menopausal, which wasn't a lot of help as I didn't how that felt? Would you describe it that way?

Another Suffolk person! My parents moved to Suffolk from London about 15 years ago, so when I go back to the UK I always stay with them in lovely, sleepy Suffolk! They live just outside Stowmarket, where are you?

Feeling very guilty. My healthy eating plans went WAY out the window today. It's the National Day which is the biggest celebration of the year. Absolutely HUGE...parades, flags, best clothes, more cake than you can throw a stick at, Norwegians celebrate everything with cake (I kid you not). I went to my MIL's today and there 5 cakes on the side for 6 of us to nibble!! HAHA. Tomorrow I'll get back on track

take care,
Debra.

Hello

I will be HOPEFULLY be starting down regging mid June so I will be a June/July cycler :D

Feeling very apprehensive. This will be my 4th treatment and the stress levels are rising.

Have been taking multi vitamins, folic acid, have now cut out alcohol and caffeine an started reflexology so finding some other things to do to maximise my chances of success. Still haven't found an acupuncturist yet! I refuse to take the chinese herbs as they sound awful

Babydust for all of us JCB's

Hi Dagny, I feel such a connection with you due to your Norwegian name! Plus we're both going for try No.4.

Sorry you're having such a crappy day. The only silver lining I can see is that tomorrow will be SO much better.

Your mention of folic acid suddenly reminded I'd given mine all away to a newly pg friend. As soon as I had the mc in March I got rid of everything lying around which I connected with the tmt, including some excess drugs which was pretty stupid as we'll pay through the nose for replacements. That will teach me!

Take care and look after yourself :)

Hiya Debra

You are spot on my name is Norwegian. It is an old fashioned name apparently. It has caused me no end of problems being in the UK and the brits refuse to try and pronouce anything. I get called all sorts of strange things and sometimes I wonder if it would be easier to change it by deed poll!! Then no one can spell it! I get called the girl with the funny name - OH, it makes me feel so special!!!!

I can hardly be anonymous with this name either. Everyone knows it's ME!

I am having a very tough day and have done for a few days but today has been particuarly crappy. Trying to pull myself together before I lose it completely.

I bet you are kicking yourself for giving your Folic acid away. My friend has got 16 bottles of Menopur left from her treatment which expires in 2005 and she only went and stored it in the bloody airing cupboard!! What a divvy and what a WASTE  I nearly throttled her! Why she has got so much left is beyond me.

I think I will change my multi vits and folic to Pro natal tablets. I am not sure whats best though.

Maybe treatment No4 will be lucky for us eh?

Oh Dagny...oh so true. All those bottles of Menopur wasted....what makes me want to kick myself even harder is that pharmacies are here price controlled - plus not being EU, anything imported costs a bomb. You can't buy folic acid anywhere else but in a pharmacy and they cost about 7 quid for a tiny little bottle. Just to compound matters, DF is a journalist and currently on strike! Because he's a long term contractor he doesn't get any pay whilst they're all out not working - oh joy!

Mustn't grumble. We're about to start the fairground rides again

Just imagine, if you came here everyone would assume you were a local and talk high speed Norwegian to you!!

love

Debra.

Hi Dabra

Would you like me to send some Folic acid over to you?? I will be happy to. Ican't believe how expensive it is there £7 flip

Just say the word and I will oblige.

I am half Dutch and my Dutch speaking is awful. I have been to night school and got 1st year certificate and practice on my Mum but it's generally crap. I wish my Mum continued to teach me whan I was little. I was really good at Dutch then but she gave up when it looked like I wasn't interested when I started school. I now so regret it.

Do you speak Norwegian? It looks really difficult. Do you know anyone with my name?

Hi Caz - Great to see you are keeping an eye on us all. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for your scan.

How is everyone else today?

I'm not exactly sure what a quid is, but folic acid and prenatal vitamins are not too expensive here--unless I'm buying the wrong ones.
I feel like I've cleaned out the pharmary with everything I'm having to take. Is everyone on doxycleine (spelling?) or some other antibiotic?

Bless....Dana I'm sorry I used quid, but it means a pound ie. about 1 dollar 80c. I know it's enough to make you weep!! I ADORE the States for some things and prices are one of them...I dream about walking around stores like CVS or Walgreens...sigh! How are you feeling? Nervous? Excited? Neither? Both?

Thanks for the offer Dagny. Norwegian customs are cannier than that though, they open all parcels they suspect might have anything valuable and charge the receiver the tax. This happens with anything and everything. I've even had birthday parcels opened!! I paid tax on my old sleeping bag once. They don't open everything but they have the right to. I'll just bite the bullet and buy more. It's silly to worry about 7 pounds when we're about to shell out 4,000 isn't it?

Yes I do know one person called Dagny here. I sometimes work for the university and she is the Business Manager in the Modern Languages dept. Very nice although tight with the purse-strings!

Ja, jeg kan norsk men er ikke helt perfekt! =yes I can speak Norwegian but not brilliantly. I know that people here can make out some Dutch and vice versa. We're off to Amsterdam next week so I'll get a chance to see if it's true. I'd hoped to have a few of their famous beers plus gins but will have to take it easy now.

I'm trying to practice something I read once but it didn't suit me at the time so I ignored it! WE are in control of our moods, WE decide if something is going to annoy us a lot, a little or not at all. If we want, we CAN let something 'go' and not let it bother us any more. I try to remember this when I'm getting worked up over something unimportant. I even bought 'Don't stress the small stuff' to see if got the message through to me. I'm someone who holds onto bitterness/a grudge etc. I need to learn to let go. It doesn't do me any good and that's all that counts right now.

Happy Days to us all :)
love
Debra.

Hello Debra

Blimy Norwegian customs are horried by the sound of it. To make toy pay tax on an old sleeping bag is rediculous  Shame though I would have been happy to send some Folic over. Never mind.

Hope you have a lovely time in Amsterdam. My Mum is going to Holland with my brother tomorrow till Monday. I was supposed to go but wasn't sure about when I was having tests for my next treatment. As it turns out I could have gone so I am looking after my aunts puppy for a week instead. Have fun when you go though it's a great place.

Dana - Why are you taking anti biotics??

Kel - How is the down regging going?

Aly - Hope your donor gets you lots of lovely eggies.

Hi June buddies, well today is the day my AF is supposed to rear her head and true to form nothing! My donor is waiting on me to start stims so I'm hoping AF turns up soon! apart from that feeling OK I've decided to just act normally, I'm not giving up exercise, caffine or alcohol (all of wich are in moderation!) I've booked a holiday for the beginning of July and I've bought a new car. So I guess you call this tempting fate but in the opposite direction! When does everyone else start?? Kel how's the down regging?
Right off for a cycle ride, take care and enjoy the sun  :)
