I am super excited..i dont know what my chances or how many eggs I will gey w/13 follies but I hope its great:) hope u got some rest..ive been exhausted and im not the one prego! I forget are you going for another beta or just u/s? Ur numbers have been awesome

klinger-so u tested out the trigger? How many days till POAS? so excited for u:)
Also excited for klinger - can't wait to see another positive test to back up the IC!!!

I'm getting some rest - it's nearing christmas season and our store goes nuts this time of year so i'm trying to get it all caught up so I can not be pushing things too far.

I'm not sure if I'm getting more betas or not.... my numbers are great so I might just wait to get the ultrasound.... They got more eggs than they saw when they did my ER... 32 in total, many of them didn't make it so it's not quantity, it's quality. I'm hoping all your eggs are retrieved and at least ten fertilize normally... and that you end up with at least 8 by transfer day! Plenty to transfer and plenty to freeze. keep us posted

Lauren...Yayyy! 13 is terrific! Usually the rule of thumb that I use for me and my age and issues...is that if I have 13 retrieved that 50% of them make it to 3 days...so 6 or 7 would be the goal and anything above that is even better. 2 yrs ago with Zach's cycle...we got 12 eggs, 10 were mature, 8 fertilized, 3 we put back on day 3, and 2 we lost between day 3 and 5, and the other 3 made it to blast and were frozen on day 5. This is pretty average and typical. This last cycle/last month we got 7 eggs, 6 fertilized, 4 were good, but we went ahead and put the 5th little guy that wasnt going anywhere back in as well. So again, from 7 to 4 and about 50%. Hope this helps on what to expect. HOWEVER...everyone is different. You may have all 13 fertilize and be perfect...but that is extremely rare. Most of the time I've noticed that those who get 30 eggs due to PCOS, end up with only about 10 or so decent ones...so it is not always quantity it is quality, as you have heard everyone say. 13 eggs...is very normal and average. However, when they go in for ER they also often get more or less than what they saw on ultrasound...again very very normal. It's very unusual that they get exactly what they see on ultrasound due to alot of different reasons...so dont be surprised. I dont know why I'm telling you all this...cause I think you already know all this...but eh, good info for anyone else who is new and reading. lol

So I am very upset and worried right now. Bill's nephew's wife's sister (she is my age)...if you can follow that...was watching Zach while we were at retrieval and she had to leave Zach with our nephew...while she took off for the hospital to be with her stupid sister....because she is getting ready to have a c-section right this minute. This mother is only about 5.5 months pregnant...and she is a piece of freakin crap...all of her facebook statuses have been how she is drinking and going to bars every night, etc, etc...and she had no prenatal care and just found out that she is pregnant or she kept it secret, not sure...either way that baby is probably not going to make it. I am sooo pist right now and upset that I could scream. I'm praying sooo hard that this baby makes it...the mother...she can rot in hell.

AFM: Ultrasound went good...the doctor felt that we would be okay afterall...they had to push and push on tha right ovary, but they managed to get 4 eggs out of the right and they even got 2 out of the left! Surprise surprise!! 6 eggs!!! Woohoo!!! The doctor told me that he just happened to be walking by and got a look at one of my eggs on the screen and he said it looked AWESOME...he was really surprised and happy to see that. That really made my day...cause I think that that one is my future baby!!! The not so good news is that they had to put the IV in me 5, yes 5 freakin times!! I am the worse stick there is and I've got bruises appearing all over my hands now. Oh well...other than a little soreness from all the pushing on my tummy that the nurse did...I am doing good. Percocet is my friend. lol I'm about to go get all of us dressed in costume and get ready to go to the costume contest in just a bit and then trick or treat later, too. Praying that I can get through the day without any problems. Thanks for all of your thoughts, prayers, and everything...looks like this cycle is gonna be okay after all. :D

I'll catch up on more personal tonight. I think I will lay down for 10 minutes.

P.S. Oh and you are not going to believe this...but that stupid crazy cat...jumped up on the bed and hit me in the tummy again! Not even kidding. He knows there is something going on...he has to....he has only done this one other time...and that was the night before my last retrieval!!! Only this time...he sorta hit me, but missed, and didnt get me hard at all this time, Thank God! So weird. I slept on my side all night with a huge pillow blocking my tummy.

Good morning everyone,
I just received the call that all ten of the embryos are 4 celled. 5 are excellent, 3 are excellent-good, and 2 are good. They're doing what they're calling a 5dt transfer, but I'm confused because my retrieval was Thursday and they're calling day 5 Monday. Any thoughts?

Tammy: Woohoo!! 6 is terrific--especially that "awesome" one--will make an awesome sibling for Zach I just know it!

Lauren: Congrats on 13 and trigger! You are in the home stretch now!!

Osi and Amesy: There are 5 of is in this "boat" right now...waiting for betas the end of next week. Some of us are POASing--it is fine if you don't. Just do the best to distract yourselves as the others have said. There really are no "true" signs since the progesterone tricks your body into thinking its preggo. Take deep breaths and find something that you like doing to distract you for this next week.

Amanda: aka other DIVA: that sounds exciting!! Mine this morning showed no line at all--but it was the cheapy, and like Sonya, I get up and pee frequently, so not sure if FMU is really the most concentrated. SO--my plan today? I have a bunch of the dollar-store brands. I will go splurge for a (couple? ) FRER-the "good stuff"-- and see if I can get some concentrated pee either today or tomorrow--or honestly?--both days. LOL. CRAZYTOWN is here!! Just glad I'm not obsessing. MUCH. ok. Just a little. Can one only obsess a "little"? But, congratulations to you on your faint line..that is all you could hope for this early, Amanda!! Can't wait to see your pictures. I really think this Fall cycle is going to be rocking with the babies!!!!

AFM: As a junkie I am currently on the "high" as I am testing daily, but still know it is quite early so I am not yet distressed by the negatives...hopefully... I will be seeing some positives over the next few days...otherwise I am gonna be needing some support so I don't get checked in the the nut house. (As a psychologist myself)...I can just imagine the intake: "Yes, I am a junkie. Of what? POASing...huh?...is that imaginary?...no it is a real disorder!....

Babydust to everyone!!!!

That is a freaking great update!!! I'm confused about the timing too - and would ask them what they mean... How many will you transfer?

crystal - that is great news!! Hopefully you'll be able to straighten out the transfer date with them.

Tammy - Congrats on a great ER!! I'm so, so glad to hear that your right ovary cooperated and you got a couple from the left side too. Woo-hoo!!! Enjoy your Halloween festivities!!

Lauren - So excited about your follies and yay for ER on Monday!!!

Sonya & Margi - I really have the shittiest camera ever. Well, that and the line is so faint I'd really probably need the best camera on the market to capture it. I can't even get it to come up if I take a pic in negative format. Hopefully I can get another line later today or tomorrow that will show up in a pic. Fingers crossed & I'll keep my fellow POAS Divas posted.

Sonya, we will transfer 2. Although I'm a bit nervous... I have twins age 6 from my previous marriage and I remember all too well the challenge of twins. It's a risk I'm willing to take to give my husband his own biological children.

Hi girls,

I'm so freakin' upset right now and need to vent, sorry. I was playing with my dog last night and she suddenly started limping badly. Wouldn't put any weight on her right leg. This morning she tried to get up and cried out. I took her to the vet and it's a torn ACL and she needs surgery to fix it. It's going to cost $3500 for a TPLO procedure which is recommended for her size. She can have a suture procedure for half that but it might not hold and we'd be back in a couple of months for the TPLO. The goes my plan to save for IVF! What should I do? Anyone have experience?

OMG Lou - My heart goes out to your pooch! Poor thing, that must hurt so bad!! I guess I would just base my decision on what's going to give her the most relief long term without putting her at risk for other issues down the road. I know you mentioned with the suture procedure there is the risk it may not hold. Are there risks associated with the TPLO procedure?

Klinger- she had a TPLO on the other leg 3 years ago and it worked beautifully. That knee is now perfect. The recovery time for the TPLO is half that of the suture procedure. I think we may have to do the suture procedure because it's $2000 cheaper but I'd rather have her get the TPLO. I feel bad compromising her care due to expense though.

Y'all weren't exaggerating when you called the 2ww crazytown, did you? I don't think you can imagine it until you're in it -- at least I know I couldn't. I thought "I'll just keep busy" Well, it doesn't seem to matter how busy I try to keep, the time just drags by.

Seems like Friday is forever away.

I wrote a whole post and it didn't work! Damn!

My beta was negative. The nurse scheduled a consult with the doc on the 16th, but I'm wondering why we aren't just getting back on the horse--using the two blasts we have on ice. If you don't do a stim cycle, just the FET, do you do the Lupron again?

The chain of events yesterday: Drove to the blood draw, came home (called off work) and slept most of the morning. The nurse called at 1:30. Called my partner. I rapidly snarfed 5 "fun size" candy bars, got in the car to go to the post office, (pick up my laptop so I could report back to ya'll) and then realized that I was driving in the wrong direction (wasn't thinking straight) so I parked and walked into the nearest bar. No dirty martinis, but it was good to get buzzed on a few beers.

I'm frustrated and sad. I shouldn't complain too much because I know most of you have been through this so many times before. All the time and effort wasted!

I have to say that it's nice to be out of the 2ww, though. Even if it's a negative. I was miserable. I've said it once and I'll say it again, this process is a mindfuck because you don't know what the hell is going on inside your own body!

Meinemo: I am so sorry. Yes indeed. This entire process completely messes with your head. And heart. The 2ww is especially difficult--as I can currently attest to! I am so sorry....sending you ((((hugs)))). Take the time you need to vent, eat, drink, cuss. And then call doctor's office to figure out next steps for FET. I haven't done one so I can't advise you there. Take care of yourself....we are all here and can relate.

Meinmo I am so sorry about the BFN it really sucks and we can relate. As margi said, vent, cry, and then jump back on the horse.

As for the FET as I understand there are two kinds:the medicated and the natural. If you have regular cycles and you ovulate on your own and your doc agrees to a natural cycle then you can start right away and all it entails is watching for ovulation with OPK and then when your lining is right and you ovulate they transfer your embies in at a point at which they would have naturally been in your uterus---usually 5-7 days after ovulation--- although I have to add that my RE prefers to wait 1 AF between a fresh IVF and an FET. If your cycles are not regular or you do not ovulate on your own or if your doc just doesn't feel comfortable with a natural FET then you do a medicated FET and yes then you do Lupron, estrogen patches/injections and progesterone. I hope this helps

Good luck to you and please try to stay positive. This process does work it just takes a few tries sometimes :)
