Meinemo wrote:I wrote a whole post and it didn't work! Damn!

My beta was negative. The nurse scheduled a consult with the doc on the 16th, but I'm wondering why we aren't just getting back on the horse--using the two blasts we have on ice. If you don't do a stim cycle, just the FET, do you do the Lupron again?

The chain of events yesterday: Drove to the blood draw, came home (called off work) and slept most of the morning. The nurse called at 1:30. Called my partner. I rapidly snarfed 5 "fun size" candy bars, got in the car to go to the post office, (pick up my laptop so I could report back to ya'll) and then realized that I was driving in the wrong direction (wasn't thinking straight) so I parked and walked into the nearest bar. No dirty martinis, but it was good to get buzzed on a few beers.

I'm frustrated and sad. I shouldn't complain too much because I know most of you have been through this so many times before. All the time and effort wasted!

I have to say that it's nice to be out of the 2ww, though. Even if it's a negative. I was miserable. I've said it once and I'll say it again, this process is a mindfuck because you don't know what the hell is going on inside your own body!
aww I'm sorry things didn't work this time. It is a horrible feeling when things take a bad turn... and a bfn is one of the worst. And you're right, there is some relief in knowing one way or the other. I did a FET and you do use lupron before to prevent ovulation and I believe estrace (estrogen) to build up the lining of the uterus. Then you keep using estrace and progesterone afterwards if I'm not mistaken. My blog has all my stuff on FET... I forget unless I do it twice. I'd never say it was time or effort wasted.... you are trying and there is a lot of value to that... knowing you did what you had to do. The journey is a a certain length - we don't know how long that is... but we have to endure every step to get to the end.... ((hugs))

I'm so freakin' upset right now and need to vent, sorry. I was playing with my dog last night and she suddenly started limping badly. Wouldn't put any weight on her right leg. This morning she tried to get up and cried out. I took her to the vet and it's a torn ACL and she needs surgery to fix it. It's going to cost $3500 for a TPLO procedure which is recommended for her size. She can have a suture procedure for half that but it might not hold and we'd be back in a couple of months for the TPLO. The goes my plan to save for IVF! What should I do? Anyone have experience?
Crap. That's a really difficult decision....I'm not sure what my choice would be to be honest.... I hope you know we're here for you to vent and to offer support.

Lou: So very sorry about your fur-baby. I wish I had some experience with that kind of injury but I don't. I can understand how you feel about wanting the best for them, but having to be realistic financially. I have 2 fur-babies and DH has 2 as well. We have a friggin zoo--it feels like at some times! But I love them dearly. Maybe some day I'll figure out how to post photos and put them up.

Wishing you the best with whatever decision you make. And wishing your furbaby a speedy recovery.

LOL I'm the resident hpt junkie of crazytown. A title I am proud to hold! If you want to really test out the trigger - start at around 7dpo .. 2dp5dt or 4dp3dt. You will most likely still have a little hcg in your system but perhaps not. It is usually gone by 10 days. Just try and make sure you take the tests with the same pee consistency. I take mine around 5 p.m. and don't pee after noon. hehe good luck and I am praying for a GREAT ER.

Guys, thanks for your wonderful advice. Trying to keep busy but it's always there in the back of my mind. I am going on a five day work course so that will keep me kind of busy. I won't have my laptop so it would be short posts via my phone.

I am confused what is testing out your trigger?

Hi all! I'm a newbie (posted an intro in the "intro" section) and this is our first IVF. I just opened yesterday's mail and got my calendar from our clinic! I start Lupron on November 10th, estimated date for ER is December 7th and I take a Beta test on, get this, Christmas Eve.

I'm either going to be jollier than Santa Claus, or scarrier than the Grinch on Christmas. Lovely ;)

Good luck to everyone! :)
Married my sweetheart, Jeff, on 06/30/01

When you get a trigger shot it's hcg - the same hormone that's produced when you are pregnant. Some of us (me especially) begin testing with hpt's at about 7dpo (7 days past retrieval - 9 days past trigger). Often there will be a very faint line - proof that the hcg is still lingering in your system. Then you test again and the line will be gone... or it will be darker. If it's darker, you know the baby has implanted and is causing your body to secrete hcg. If it's gone, you know the trigger is gone. You may not get another line if you are pregnant until 11-12 dpo, or even 13-14dpo... but once you do get a line, you know it's true. My blog has a photo of my hpt 'progression'. My line never did totally disappear!

osi- congrats on being pupo! testing out the trigger shot means taking an hpt & watching it get lighter & lighter as the hcg disappears & then if it all of a sudden starts getting darker, that means that you have a bfp b/c now the hcg that's being made is naturally by your body. enjoy your 5-day workshop. by the way, not everyone gets implantation cramping/bleeding, so don't worry.

lauren- congrats on triggering last night! good luck on your er on monday! yes, his sperm will probably be besides themselved when they get to meet their destined eggs & make babies! it is possible to prematurely ovulate i think, but it is extremely unlikely as long as the retrievel is done within 34-36 hours (i believe) after the trigger shot.

meinemo- i'm so sorry. i know you feel like it was wasted, frustrated, & sad....please understand that it's completely normal to feel this way. it really stinks when it ends up like this. (((HUGS))) i've never done an fet, so i can't help you there, but wishing you lost of luck w/ it & praying that it'll give you the miracle(s) you've been waiting for.

nancy- yes the times just drags, no matter what. it's the worst! how are you feeling otherwise? praying for your bfp!

karian- woohoo for the green light to start stims! that's awesome! hope you had a fun & relaxing night last night.

lou- awe sweetie i'm sorry! this is not what you need right now...the timing just stinks. did you & dh come up w/ a decision?

margi- you're hysterical! so have you poas'd since yesterday? i hope you saw that 2nd line!

crystal- good luck on your et? did you figure out the confusion w/ the timing? did they mean tuesday or a 4dt on monday? or maybe that's just how they count their day? either way, good luck!

tammy- oooh your cat is evil! glad he wasn't able to do any damage! 6 eggs....yay!!! i'm so happy for you! i know you were worried about them not being able to get much b/c of your left ovary. good for you! yes, percocet is a really good friend  so will you be hearing your fert report today? fingers crossed for a good one!

klinger/amanda- you rock! your af dance definitely helped, but i think having you move me to the grow follies grow section of the list & then moving me back to the injectables for ivf section jinxed me in a good way....af got here early this morning!!! yay!!! maybe you should move me "accidentally" to the bfp section & then back, so you can jinx me w/ a bfp, lol! so will you poas today??? i can't wait to hear about your 2nd line!

amesy- yes, i know how hard it is too not read into the signs & symptoms. it stinks b/c sometimes it's the progesterone mimicking the preggo symptoms & sometimes it's truly the preggo symptoms. i'm hoping in your case, it's preggo symptoms. fingers crossed!

karin- glad things are progressing & the ed will be stimming really soon! your story about the baby boy was so sad. i too pray that he was put into a loving & caring home. yes, parents (especially mothers) are supposed to protect their children. it breaks my heart.

rio- i'm good. thanks for asking. how about you? loving your pma!!! i'm stealing some of it though

babyblu- yay! can't wait for the u/s & see how many you got cooking in there!

bakersbaby- yay for af getting here! i usually stim for 12 days before i have my er.

kaylie- the wait until your u/s is probably going to drive you crazy, but i'm sure everything will be fine. cannot wait until your u/s.

michelle- welcome to our group! i have those moments often, imaging my beautiful child there w/ me. 1 day we won't have to imagine.

ryann- how awful about that mother of the baby! if you can even call her a mother! that is so sad & it really breaks my heart to hear stories like that. people just don't realize how lucky they are! that is so sweet that you & your friend are throwing her 1st b-day party...you're right, every little girl does deserve that. by the way, i never told you, but i'm sorry your fet had to be pushed back another week. you'll get there soon & when you are holding your miracle, all of this wait we'll be worth it. how's your dad? good, i hope. how are the doggies? best friends?

karen- how are you doing?

lauren1171- how are things going w/ you? how's the puppy?

lauren319- think of you often!

zen- welcome! i hope you will be jollier than santa claus & all the little kiddos opening their gifts on christmas morning!

afm- af got here early in the morning. i need to call the re's office & let the nurse know. i believe they told me if i get it over the weekend, to call & leave a message. they will call me back on monday & schedule a baseline for tuesday. that would be awesome b/c i wouldn't have to write sub plans for my classes, since tuesday is election day & the kids have no school, but teachers have staff development day. that would be easier to miss & i hate writing sub plans. this month has been so busy. there are so many b-day this month & next month b/w my family & dh's family. we've had my sil's, my dad's, my triplet nephews' (yes, they are ivf babies...someone asked a while back), dh's step-brother's, dh's grandmother's, dh's stepfather's, my cousin's, my grandmother's, then mine is coming up on tuesday, my mother's, dh's cousin's. then there's apple picking, halloween, thanksgiving coming up, & getting christmas gifts. i like being busy, but w/ school stuff added in, it's a little stressful. oh well, i can't complain b/c all of this means i have family, friends, & a job...things i'm extremely grateful for, & of course, i'm grateful for all of you ladies.
ME: 32
DH: 38 (Severe MF)

Tammy - Hoping for a great fert report from you today!!

Meinemo - I'm so very sorry about your BFN. I hope you get the go ahead to start soon after your WTF appt and you know where to come for support and cheers!

Lauren - I am still so excited about your 13 mature eggs, that is such great news!! We'll be cheering you on for your ER tomorrow morning!

Margi - I'd have to say I'm pretty well stocked up on HPTs too. I have 28 internet cheapies and 4 FRERs left. At 40 something cents a pop for the ICs, you just can't beat it if you're a POAS addict.

kynlee - Good luck with your u/s tomorrow! Will this appointment be used to confirm that you're ready for your FET on 11.6?

karian - YAY for getting the official word to start stims!! Woo-hoo!!

riogirl & karen - When do you guys go for SnS? Hoping to hear good follie reports from both of you!!

ester - YAY for AF arriving!! I would be happy to jinx you in a good way again!!!

zen_scrapper - Welcome to the group!!! Glad you joined and you'll get lots of info and support from the ladies in this group!! Wouldn't a BFP be the perfect Christmas present???

AFM - Ok my fellow POAS Divas - I did test this morning with an internet cheapie and FRER and both have a faint line!!!  They're both so faint I can't get them to come up on my camera, but hopefully within a day or two my hcg level will rise enough to make the lines a bit darker so I can photograph them for you. I was just so happy to see that FRER confirmed what my internet cheapie was showing me yesterday - a beautiful BFP!!! Woo-hoo!!! We're excited, optimistic, and of course a bit guarded. After going through 3 BFPs/losses in the last 15 months it won't be a reality for us until we see a heartbeat on the screen.

Out of the 6 retrieved....4 mature and 4 fertilized!!! She said that 1 of the immature ones actually matured over night and that the sperm they put in with them look like they may have fertilized it...so there may even be 1 more. She said one of the 4 is already starting to divide! Hopefully, I will end up with at least 2 to put back in on Tuesday. Bill's birthday is Wednesday around 1am...so kinda funny that our transfer will be around 12 hrs before his birthday, early Tuesday afternoon. Gotta mean good luck, right?! lol :D

Personals in just a bit.

TammyS wrote:Out of the 6 retrieved....4 mature and 4 fertilized!!!

That is a FANTASTIC report, Tammy!!!! Awesome!!!!

Klinger - that's awesome!!! BFP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FRER's don't lie! LOL Did you pop it out of the case so it could dry? The lines become much more prominent if you do - and no, it doesn't hurt the test's reliability at all. HUGE CONGRATS! I also feel your reservation... I hope you get comforting betas to take some of the worry away. I've never been quite this comfortable with a pregnancy.. my first betas were really low with the previous two pregnancies. Awesome news for you!!!
