Re: Looking for November Cycle Buddies

Post by shrunkinapole »

Hello Ladies :D Not sure if this is the right place to post as this is my first time on here. My wife and I have been trying for almost 3 years and this summer we tried our first IVF. After the initial positive we ended up losing the baby at about 8 weeks (blighted ovum). We are trying again this month but this time we will be using "frosties" as she calls them that were donated to the clinic we are going to. Has anyone had experience with this? We are heading to Florida in the next week or so for the transfer... God I hope this works. Hope you don't mind a guy jumping in as I don't see too many on here.

riogirl thanks for the kind welcome. It really was a miracle when we got accepted into the program and I couldn't believe when they said they had some available. It has been a hellish road so far... hopefully this will be the answer. I know I am kind of a novelty in here  if anyone wants to see this journey from a guys perspective (to be perfectly honest it's not too different) feel free to check out my blog. The link is in my signature... hopefully I will be able to add one of those nifty tickers soon.

karenscorpio and riogirl- that's awesome that your follies are growing together..!! that's huge in terms of a hurdle in this process.. prior to DHEA, i always had 1 or 2 lead follies that dictated the cycle, it didn't go well.

and welcome shrunk! ... blair so sorry about your UTI. not what you need right now :( and anna- fingers crossed for a successful thaw :) i was so scared about that too.

and it sounds like everyone else has lots going on too.. stims, waiting for AF, surviving the psycho 2ww....

afm- i'm doing ok in this 2ww so far.. i know in a few days that will change. i'm starting to feel terrified to go pee.. an old familiar feeling - being scared to see blood. my beta is next week and i just keep looking at the son i'm already blessed with and focusing on gratitude. i want a bigger family, but i already have so much. i'm a very lucky person :)

love to all. k

hello all. just trying to stay positive before my first beta in the morning. This has been the longest day  I hope I will be able to sleep tonight!

Easley-- so happy AF is in town

Jessica--YEAH 3 eggs fertilized!!!! any news yet on ET date?

Babydreams--so sorry your cycled was cancelled but so happy you were able to get started again so soon! What a roller coaster ride :o

Mellow--hope your baseline went well

Zenscrapper--Hello & welcome. This is a great bunch of ladies

ladybug (alisia) -- What a great gift you are giving! :D Glad to have you join us!

Blessedmom- How are the Lupron shots treating you so far?

Chris--Hello & welcome! You are right this cycle is the one!!

Karenscorpio--How are the follies growing?

Leorira-- How about best white undies, white slacks and sitting on a white sofa? Anything to bring Auntie into town!!!

Margi26--Hey 2ww buddy! DH and I were too scared to POAS. Hopefully Thursday will get here soon covered in sticky baby dust.

Karenvancouver -- Hey 2ww buddy! Sticky baby dust to you!

Blair-- UUGGGHHH! What a terrible weekend. I hope you are feeling better today.

Annashope-- Yeah for triggering! I hope that all of your frosties will enjoy the nice warm weather coming their way!

Riogirl-- great number of follies! Grow follies grow!!!

Shrunkin--Hello & welcome! My DH is always reading thru the posts with me so you do not need to feel so outnumbered! It is always nice to hear about how things are going from a different perspective. :)

AFM-- Planning to do my PIO shot at 8 am then head over to the clinic for my 1st beta. Then DH & I are heading to the polls to vote. So hopefully by the time we are finished with that we will get "THE CALL". If we have not heard anything before we make it home, we may stop by the corner drugstore so I can get a test & POAS!! Thank goodness a dear friend of mine came over to go birthday shopping (for DH) with me. I do not think I would have made it through the day all by myself. We are just so worried and scared. I have been spotting since the 2/3 day post 5dt. Well, I guess I will try to get some sleep...

krisnjer~ You are one strong lady to hold out and not POAS. I hope you get good news tomorrow. :) And look at you doing all those personals...wow! Good job!

So one of the worst things about my RE's office is that I have to wait for all of my lab work to come back the next day. So even on beta day...I don't get to hear anything until the following day. It's agony! I'm pretty sure my baseline was fine today, my ovaries were nice and quiet and ready to be stimulated. haha. :)

Would like to give a shout out to shrunkinapole. Welcome to the lake of hormonal women...and congratulations and good luck on your transfer with donor embryos :)

Thinking of you all, will have to do personals later...sheesh I've been busy. And, on a sad note we had to break the news to our 11 year old daughter that her hamster passed away today. Lots and lots of tears. UGH. Breaks my heart.

Today has not started out quite like I imagined it. My spotting is back to bright pink/red and it seems like more than it has in the past. I am also cramping again. I don't want to tell DH yet. We will find out soon enough anyway. Oh please please please let us get good news. I am trying not to cry because I don't want to upset him but I am so scared. We are probably going to head out in 30 mins to the Dr office.

krisjner- Stay positive!!! Spotting isnt necessarily a bad thing. Hopefully you all will go the appointment and end up getting the good news!! Keep us posted.

anna- yes we are hopefully transferring our final 3 pending the thaw. Hopefully we can get through the 2ww together and end up with some BFPs!

blessedmom- Glad you arent having any issues with the Lupron.

mellow-Sorry to hear about the hamster. Hopefully you get great results with your beta and you can move to the next step.

karenvancouver- Glad your surviving the dreaded 2ww. I am taking a few days off next week and then working from home, luckily DH is on vacation and can hang out with me which will hopefully make the days go by a little faster.

shrunkinapole- Welcome.

MYIZZY- Good luck with the acupuncture, Ive only had 2 visits but I did feel a lot more relaxed after the second one. My next visits arent until transfer day (hopefully next monday).

leorira- Are they sure you will be having AF this month? I hate how our bodies like to make us suffer.

AFM- nothing too exciting. Still taking phenergan at night so I dont get too nauseated because of all the estrogen. NP said I could either do that or cut back to 6mg and the shot daily, so I would rather play it safe and know I took all the estrogen I could. Already getting anxious for my appt Thursday- itll be a long work day then.

Wow! This board is awesome for support. The wife has been on the boards for a while now (to be honest i'm not sure which site) and it always amazed me how much support she gets. I figured I would give it a shot because every day she gives me a breakdown on how EVERYONE is doing. It's actually really cool... "soooo [this person] is doing [this thing]... and [this person] is doing [this thing]... and [so and so] did [this]... " The best part is that the [this thing] is always some cutsified name that it takes me forever to figure out  i'm not too quick on the draw. So hopefully I can learn a bit while i'm here and be a bit more understanding in our conversations. Thanks again for the warm welcome and I wish you all "baby dust", "stickies", and "little beans" (hope I got those right)

Krisnjer- thinking of you today and sending BFP vibes! I had a lot of spotting and bleeding from my last pregnancy. I had two small subchorionic hematomas. They are pockets of blood that bleed a lot. They gave me three scares but all ways always fine. Lots of women spot in early pregnancy due to implantation. I imagine if you are like the rst of us you have googled this to the tenth degree and know this already! We all anxiously await your good news! Xo

Shrunkin- Welcome. I think you are the first guy I know of on the forum. You'll get more info than you dreamed of and plenty of evidence that women going thru IVF are a few bricks short of a stack some days. Ha! Like during the 2ww (week wait). Wish you and DW (dear wife) good luck!

AFM- I had a good check_up with RE. Follies are popping up everywhere! 16 on the left and 11 on the right. I'm shocked! Now they just need to grow in size. Tonight will be day 5 of stims. Woowhoo!

I dont know about the rest of the DH's out there but I tend to be a few fries short of a happy meal myself especially during the dreaded 2 week wait. In fact the best way I can describe it is... enough beers for a 6 pack but missing the plastic rings holding them together.

Well the DR said it was BFP but I am still worried. My beta was only 55.3. My clinic said they like to see numbers greater than 50 for the 1st Beta. I have read some studies about beta levels and viability and there is a higher correlation for live births if the 1st beta is >100. We go back for the 2nd Beta Thursday. I am trying to be positive but I just have a bad feeling about this. DH is so upset with me that I cannot just be happy for a BFP. They are also checking my progesterone level again to see if I need to change the dose. I feel so lost.
