Ghost-long term effects of Lupron?

Ghost or anyone who may know...
After 3 weeks of 20u of Lupron I am still not supressed. My RE is now having me go another 2 weeks and now upping me to 20u twice a day. Is this excessive or pretty normal? Is there anything saying that all this Lupron will effect my ovaries when I try for another fresh cycle? Will they wake back up?

Wow I am not a doctor or even in the medical field but it seems a lot. That being said maybe it is what needs to be done. I am just curious as to how do they know you are not suppressed? Is your E2 level still high? I am so sorry you are having to go through that.

Ryann...I do 20 units in the morning and the night...and I'm old and dont need much surpressing. I'm actually very surprised that you werent on it 2xs a day already. I'm sorry that this crap keeps happening to you.

It's unusual. I don't know the long term consequences if any. I know there are some rumors out there about Lupron. It seems like if something harmful was known, then our consent forms would have some more specific warnings...

I am not surprised that RE has increased your dose, sometimes it is required. Mine is kind of similar case, my last cycle was canceled because I was not suppressed enuff and one follie was super persistent and did want to go away even after 15 days of Lupron 20 Units. RE asked me to stop Lupron and wait for AF to start cycle again. I am on 20units Lupron again and not sure if suppressed enuff. Have us on Thursday and will know better then.

Whats yr Estrogen now?

I honestly don't know what my estrogen is...I never asked. I go back on Friday so hopefully I will know if I'm supressed! I wish you the best of luck!!

BTW are you taking DHEA or Bee Pollen?

I was taking Organic Royal Jelly (Bee Pollen, Propolis) last month, which is suppose to "support egg health" and has handful of other benefits .
Maybe I am on a tangent here, but last month my follies just would not be suppressed after 20 units of Lupron for 17 days, this is not uncommon, but it has not happened to me in my previous two cycles. Therefore, I thought that maybe the reason was Royal Jelly. I plan to restart once I am stimming again.

Hi ladies: So here I am really pissed off. I been on this stupid lupron since the 14th and still no AF. So today I went to the Re for b/w & U/S since they told me to come by the end of the month and tomorrow I wouldn't be able to go. So at the point of U/S the tech tells me it seems you have a cyst on your left ovary but the RE will have to double confirm that. So I was bummed all day. Well the nurse just called me and told me my estrogen levels are over 100, my ovaries are NOT suppressed and I have to go back on friday, They still want me to take the lupron 10 and see on friday what my levels are at. Her explaination when I asked how could this be, all I got was my body is doing something on its own and the cyst is a small follicie. My lining is also thick so no chance of AF coming anytime soon. I asked her is this cycle going to be a bust. Answer we will see on FRIDAY!!!!! I can't believe this. I am so upset because my DH insurance is changing 1/1/11 and new insurance only covers 2 IVF. I still had 1 left on this current plan. **** can't a woman catch a break. What the sense of sticking myself everymorning and still not be suppressed. Anyone have this happen and 1 week later your suppressed???

Jcbaby...after many weeks of Lupron and STILL not being supressed, they made me go 2 weeks before being checked again, but in those 2 weeks I went from a level of 77 to 11. So hopefully 1 week will be enough for you...best of luck!!!

Hi Ladies: Today was a wonderful day. I woke up and AF was here YAY!!! so I went to RE for B/W & U/S everything looks good. I get to reduce lupron tomorrow morning to 5 and start Estrace 1 tablet twice a day. I was so happy when the nurse called and said everything looks good and we can proceed. I don't have a date yet but there saying anytime around the 17th. I go back on Wed to Re and by then they will be able to tell me an exact date.

Babydreamz: I was taking flax seed tablets and RE told me thats what could of delayed my AF. Its possible yours was delayed with royal jelly. I hear they work in similar ways.

Way to go Jcbaby! I am glad you have the ball rolling again! Yupee, on finally getting to reduce Lupron.
