ICSI ghost??

Post by babygirl »

we've done 2 IVF's. the first, my husbands numbers were good so we didn't do ICSI. the second, 2 years later, his sperm concentration was low so we did ICSI. We are looking to do IVF again and wondering if we have to do ICSI if sperm concentration is low again (his total sperm count is always good though b/c he has a high volume).
Last analysis: concentration: 10 mil/ml volume: 5 ml total sperm: 58 million motility: excellent

Also, if we elect not to (to save money) is there such a thing as a "rescue" ICSI done if fertilitzation isn't happening to save the cycle??

thanks so much for the info

Yes, there is "rescue ICSI". It has reduced success rates compared to successful conventional fertilization or a planned ICSI, but obviously is better than just letting the eggs go unfertilized.

My clinic recommends ICSI to most patients, and to all patients with sperm issues, because we don't want to be in the position of needing to do rescue ICSI.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
