leorira11 wrote:Sonya - as Margi correctly remembered (kudos!), I'm located in Jerusalem Israel. One of the best parts of living here - national health care - including as many IVF cycles as I need until I have 2 babies! wheee!
My twins were born after Baby Girl A's water spontaneously broke at 22 weeks. We were advised to induce labor to prevent the risk of infection to me. We got second and third opinions that all said to induce - even though Baby Boy B was fine in his own amniotic sac. Everything happened really fast, and they were born just 36 hours after my water broke (25 hour labor, but that's different story). No resuscitation attempts were made since they were younger than 24 weeks.

Since then, I have heard of other women who suffered from pPROM and went on to have healthy babies (singletons, whose own water had broken - meaning the odds for Twin B were even better since he had his own sac). I'm very unhappy with the opinions I got. I would have like to continue the pregnancy, but was so strongly discouraged against that. If labor had started, they probably couldn't have stopped it, but I was one of the rare ones whose water breaks with NO dilation and NO contractions.

We did what we did with the information we had at the time, and I can't live with guilt the rest of my life. But it's awful that I terminated perfectly healthy babies who had a slight chance of being fine....

On a 'happier' note - last day of progesterone suppositories. I should get my period in 2-3 days! then we start the FET cycle! yay! Fingers crossed that everything goes well...
I have nothing to say that would possibly convey what this story makes me feel, but I do want you to know that I am honored that you shared it with me, and how much I admire your strength to be here, trying again with all of us. You did what you thought was right as we all did. When I had my nine week miscarriage, they had seen a heartbeat and my cervix was closed. My instinct was to lay down... I didn't know to ask to have my progesterone tested. We were told that we were fine and to go about our day. 24 hours later I miscarried in a dirty truck stop bathroom. My loss is not to be compared to yours, by any means, but I understand a wee bit about the guilt associated with lack of knowledge. All the best with your FET cycle and how lucky for you to have the cycles covered!! More and more Canadian provinces are covering IVF which is super cool in my books!

Ryann - Good luck today!!! I'm so hoping you're suppressed and can get this show on the road!

Tammy - I'm sorry you're still getting BFN's. Hope they can get you in for your beta today so you have a definite answer.

Jennie - Congrats again on being PUPO and enjoy some lazy time!

karian - That is an AMAZING fert report, WOW! Can't wait to hear how they continue to grow!

cheri & ester - So excited for your ER's tomorrow! I know they'll go great and I'll be watching for your updates.

sonya - I think it's normal to be guarded after what you've been through. I know I feel the same way. I've got the best beta numbers I've ever had, but I just don't feel like I can completely celebrate this pregnancy until I see a heartbeat. My husband and I are so used to ultrasounds where they say "well, we see a sac outside the uterus and blood pooling" that when we walk into that ultrasound, there's no doubt we'll be hoping and praying we don't hear those words again. So you're not alone in keeping your guard up but I think this ultrasound is going to be a great one for you. I think you & DH will be able to leave with giant smiles on your faces this time. Only a few more days to Ultrasounday!

leorira - My heart just breaks at the story of your twins. What a difficult thing you've gone through. I'm glad the progesterone's almost done so you can get this next cycle underway. Come on AF!!

kynlee - Hope you're feeling better soon! May be a good idea to get it checked out just in case.

Lauren - Yeah, I'd definitely get things checked out if you're having that much pain.

krys - how did your appt go yesterday?

karin - Hope ED's SnS goes well!! Let us know what they say.

rio - How are you doing? Are you staying out of Crazytown?

annashope - Any more POAS? I know opinions on IC's vary, but I've always used IC's before I spring the big bucks for the FRER. They've never steered me wrong and I've gotten a positive on them a day before the FRERs.

AFM, I go to the dermatologist today about my itchy rash. Hoping they can figure out what it is and somehow treat it. I've tried so much and nothing is helping, it's just terrible.

Leorira...Your story is so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry. I am pulling for you big time. Big Hugs.

AFM: Still waiting on the nurse to call me back. I made the mistake of telling the receptionist that I wanted to get in to do a beta today...instead of just saying it is about my beta...when she asked.

Nevermind...I just got my call back and she said no problem. So I'm heading there now and will be able to have a glass of wine (haha!) by 2-3pm. I just want to get this "doomed from the beginning cycle" over with now.

Lauren - OMGoodness! I'm so sorry to hear about your OHSS! I just recovered from a moderate case myself... So, I definitely feel your pain :( If you get comfy and literally do NOTHING, it should subside within a couple/few days :) My BFF brought over two days worth of dinner so that I couldn't use having to make dinner for the fam as an excuse to get up and do anything and my MIL made dinner for us one night also. DH and kids got me refills on my water every half an hour, I didn't just drink because they said to, I drank because I was friggin' THIRSTY! So, I only got up to pee (A LOT!) but after 3 days on bed rest, I felt LOADS better. I also craved salty stuff... I went through 2 jars of green olives, a jar of Claussen's pickles, and half a jar of pepperoncinis! Take it easy hon. And even when you start to feel better, continue to take it easy, that fluid takes FOREVER to move out of there! That being said... they told me it was an encouraging ordeal to go through, too. Something about the estrogen levels due to pregnancy keep the follicles that are leaking out of the ovaries into your abdomen producing more and more fluid. YUCK! I told DH at one point (because he didn't get it) that my ovaries were flooding my insides. I had fluid in the two quadrants under my ribcage, which once it's up there... It can seep into your lung tissue  And now here we are, 6 weeks and 3 days along in a possible twin pregnancy! I just know this is a great sign for you! Rest, rest, rest! Then rest some more! It really will help, I promise! FEEL BETTER SOON!!! I'll be praying for your recovery and BFP!!!

Baby-aww thanks for the info and support! I have been just feeling like crap. my poas today was a BFN but I guess you never know:) You are funny with all the stuff you craved! I just had chips..lol I am thirsty but havent had that much pee out so I dont know..That is awesome you had such great family and friends and you give me hope that I maybe feeling better in a few days:) it hurts in the front and radiates to my back...killing me! I cant believe it and the way the nurse explained it is kinda what you told your DH..ovarian sweat from working so hard. She said it may be a sign of pregnancy bc I was feeling somewhat ok and now these pains all of sudden, maybe the pregnancy is pulling on my ovaries for more hormones! IDK all new to me..so here I am drinking gatorade, back on the couch :D hoping for the best :D

Thanks again for your support!

Lauren - Sorry you don't feel good, oh the evil OHSS. You might be too early so don't let the POAS get to you ok? Your beta is coming soon! Be pushy with your RE, I remember being in so much pain after my first ER and they refused to see me cause I had only 10 follies and they said it was not OHSS, whatever it was it hurt so be pushy and have them take care of you!

woooohoooooo Ryann!!!!

baby_blu - how nice everyone was so sweet on your recovery! US here soon!

Tammy - post as soon as you can, I still think you are getting a BFP so no wine for you!!! I am keeping the PMA for you!

klinger - Amazing 3rd beta!!!!!!!! hope they can figure out your rash = ouchie! I am somewhat out of crazytown cause I am still in a weird fog and trying to stay busy obssessing with other stuff! ;)

Leorira - so sorry again about what you went through, I cannot imagine your pain. That is great though that they will pay for two babies! We are all out of pocket. Can't wait for your FET!!!!!!! It is a hard decision on how many to transfer especially since you had blasts, I am always more agressive but I also did not go through the pain you did with twins so I hope that your heart tells you the right thing to do, good luck, fingers crossed.

Dandme - I completely understand you being cautious about your US coming up, but your betas look so amazing! There has to be one little guy or girl snuggled in there. GOod for you for venting here, we all understand how hard this is and some of us have been to cloud 9 and back by falling on our faces so we understand your worries. We are all praying for a healthy HB for you! POAS question, if I had ER last Saturday, I should POAS tomorrow (7dpo) to see if my trigger is gone right? First pee? in the am? Do you use a cup or stream? Thanks!!!! POAS guru!!!!!!!!!

Karian - WOW that is such an amazing number! You will have great ambies - sounds like day 5 for sure!

moorebaby - Er will be here very soon can't wait for your Fert report, yes the wait is dreadful. Hopefully lots of healthy beans!

kynlee - if in doubt call the RE! I got so sore after my ER that I have to admit I took a vicoden to sleep, I could not even move.

Cheri - I can't believe they pushed you to 5 days with only 4 embies!!! My RE does not do it unless you have 7 or more... the attrition rate is high and a perfect embie might not make it to 5 day but might inside (what my RE said) so I am not trying to scare you, do they give you a 4 day report in case you want to transfer 4 day? I say be pushy, they are your babies! Good luck tomorrow!

jennie - PUPO!!!!!

margi - I cannot thank you enough for ahnging with us and supporting us, you are awesome! Sorry you are having bad AF. Are you going to use crinone again? If so, pm me. Yeah I got the real sexy pot belly look too! ;)

Freckles - congrats on seeing the HB - how AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

Nancy - I completely understand, of course you are going to be worried but remember it only does take one! So it might be your lucky baby!!!!!!!!!

Karen scorpio - did you get an update?

AFM - weird craving for something salty. The pain is much better. They really had to push my ovaries around to get to them, even had to give me more anesthesia since even out I struggled with them because of that - not that I remember anything! I am thinking of following Sonya POAS masterplan and POAS tomorrow to test out the trigger. I will be 7dpo, my beta isn't until 11/22. I am really trying to take it easy this time and not run around and pick up heavy things like I did on cycle #2 and had ectopic. My fog is still here. I have not heard from our one little guy we left there a 10 cell with frag, hoping to get an update today! Hopefully he will become a frostie! We never had one before! Well I have a good feeling about this cycle and I hope I am getting a BFP, our babies looked too good for them not to implant. 10/8/8/6 with no frag. I am trying to be cautiously optimistic but yes, I am terrified too!!!

Ryann...Yayyy!!! That is wonderful news.

Lauren...It is a huge sign of pregnancy. Question for you....did you feel crappy after ER, then got a little better, then got worse again? That is a huge marker for pregnancy. Did you poas this morning?

Rio...Hope to hear good news about your little guy...let us know when you hear.

AFM: I know my body well. Beta = 1.0...which is very negative. First, I ripped off 3 bandaids since they had to poke me 3 x's for blood today! Grrr!!! Then, I ripped off my estrogen patches. And, now I am enjoying a glass of wine.

POAS may not be for everyone, but for me...it slowly over 3 days...got me in the right mindset for the bad news. I dont regret it one bit. Had I waited till Tuesday to hear the nurse say, "I'm sorry"...it would have been much much worse for me.

On to my next cycle. AF will be here Tuesday. Please move me back to "Waiting for AF"...Thanks Amanda.
