Dys - I'm jealous! I'm high risk too but no fortnightly ultrasound for me!Not yet anyway! 6lbs isn't much! I'm back at my starting weight now - I lost 3kgs and then gained it again. It's different though because I've always carried any excess weight on my belly and it was soft and squigy. This is more rounded and harder - so I'm blaming it on the bean!

Bought my first "nursery thing" today - a zoo themed wall border, so I'm a bit excited today! Silly, I know!

Kizmet- Isnt it exciting to buy things for the nursery. I too am doing an animal theme but mine is more geared for jungle animals. I bought some fabric that had baby jungle animals that I liked and my grandmother made a curtain valance out of it. I had plenty of left overs so I made a pillow for the glider and used it to cover an old lamp shade for a table lamp. Sounds like you are starting to get your baby bump which must be awesome. Have any strangers or co-workers noticed yet? Besides having the m/s clearing up are you experiencing any other symptoms? You are 14 weeks or so and should be able to feel your baby move soon. You'll have to share as soon as you do!

I did have a question for you girls that are futher along then me. Did any of you have a feeling of heaviness or pressure in your lower abdomen that comes and goes? I cant tell if its maybe just gas pains or if its something more serious from maybe the hemorriage I have. Also if you waited a really long time to pee did it hurt when urine first started flowing and then stop as your bladder emptied. I work an hour from home and sometimes by the time I get there I have to go so bad but it hurts at first if I've got to go really really bad. :?

Hopeforbabies-- I too have pressure in my pelvic area that comes and goes. I've noticed that it happens more when I'm laying down. It also feels incomfortable when I hold my urine for a couple of minutes. When I finally go it feels like a bladder infection type of pain, but I don't have one.

I have two questions for those of you who are 11-12 weeks. I've been having complications since Halloween. I started spotting brown blood and then this past Monday it turned to pink. It's usually just when I wipe after urinating, but sometimes as much as when there's alot of discharge. I went to my Dr and he put me on bedrest last week for 4 days, he said it was just old blood but wants to keep a close eye on me given my past. Then this past Monday he put me on bedrest again for another 3 days. Has anyone had these types of problems? They can't seem to find out where the blood is coming from. He also said that it could be a hemmhorage but they can't see it on the ultrasound. Today I had an anatomy scan and they told me the same thing, that the babies seem fine and healthy. I'm just so tired of being stressed out about this because no one can figure out what's wrong with me. Also, my cervix length was at 3.5cm last Wednesday, I was 10w3d at the time, and this past Monday it dropped to 3.3cm, this was within 5 days. I'm so worried becasue I've read online that I should be around 4.0-4.5 and my Dr said he can't do anything unless it's 2.5cm. I feel like he's basically playing a waiting game with my cervix length. And what are the odds that I go to the Dr on time in order to catch it before it gets too late. It dropped .2cm in 5 days, and I've heard of some people who drop a whole cm within a week. Should I be worried about my cervix length?

2bunsinoven- I'm glad that someone else is experiencing these pains so I know I'm not crazy. Sorry I can't be much help on the cervix length, but I was diagnosed with a hemorriage at 5 weeks. Mine started off with LOTS of bright red bleeding and cramping. I was pregnant with twins at the time and we ended up lossing one of them. The bleeding has been coming and going and most times its brown "old" blood or a pink/orange spotting. My other baby seems to be doing just fine and each time I have an ultrasound they can still see a large hemorriage. Since you are only having a little pink spotting and brown blood I'm sure its nothing to worry about, but if you start having heavy bleeding and cramps I would call your OB right away.

Everything I read on subchorionic hemorriages says that the pregnancy usually progresses without further complications and that the baby is completely unaware that there is a hemorriage in there at all. I know how you feel about stressing about everything because I'm there too. I'm hoping my u/s on the 16th will show that the hemorriage is gone so I can start to relax and actually enjoy this pregnancy that I worked so hard to achieve. If you find out anything else from your DR. let me know and take it easy! My OB said no lifting over 5lbs, no exercise, and no sex. Pretty much nothing that will disturb the pelvic area.

Hopeforbabies - Funnily enough the day we decided to tell people I was pregnant (11weeks 1 day) DH and I were in the supermarket and we ran into his hairdresser and she immediately said "Oh, wow, congratulations!" - Slightly disturbing since nobody knew and I had LOST 3kgs by then and I'd never met her before! She's the only person to have said anything before we told anyone. Everyone knows now anyway - so I've had a few comments. I still fit into my old clothes so that's good, but I don't think I will for much longer, not my jeans anyway. Are you showing yet? Sounds like you've been busy on the sewing machine. I only have an industrial sewing machine for stitching canvas (we have horses - so it's for fixing rugs and some light leather work) so not exactly appropriate for helping with nursery decos! I've been scouting the baby shops for goodies and we've decided to buy one big ticket item a month until the baby gets here - so this month is a smaller item - a portacot which I'm going to buy today!

Not sure if I can help with the bladder/heaviness problem as I did have it and it was a UTI - lucky me, first time ever! I never had any burning, just felt kind of uncomfortable/heavy.

2buns - I had a bit of spotting/bleeding early on. Are you using progesterone pessaries/suppositories? These can make the cervix more prone to bleeding.

Hopeforbabies- Thanks for the advice and I'm sorry to here about the loss of one of your babies, but thank goodness your other is perfectly fine. I'm sure your hemmorhage is subsiding and everything will be fine and you only have to wait a couple of more days until you feel at ease again. I think it's in our nature to worry about every possible scenario, especially because of everything we've been through. When my DR took me off of bed rest, Nov. 11th, some of the pressure did subside. I don't know if it's because I'm moving around more, who knows? I had an appointment yesterday and they told me it was normal to feel alot of pressure down there. As far as my spotting/bleeding, it finally stopped yesterday as well and I'm so relieved, I feel like I can breathe now. The only thing I'm worried about now is my cervix length and they keep telling me not to worry about it, but of course I can't help it. My Dr told me he wasn't going to check it until my 16th week, which is a month from now, I started freaking out and crying, and he moved it up to the 14th week. My husband was so embarressed, but I feel better knowing it's only 2 weeks away. He also put my cervix on "bed rest" as well, no sex, excersice, etc. Let me know how your appointment goes, I'm sure everything will be fine :) Also, how often are they going to be giving you ultrasounds? Mine's only giving me one once a month. You would think it would be more often considering our history. I found a place here in Houston called precious glance ultrasound. They do 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasounds for a reasonable price, and I'm thinking about going every other week just so I can have piece of mind. I also scheduled an appointment during my 15th week so I can find out the genders, my Dr said he wasn't going to do a gender ultrasound until my 18th week and I'm already dieing to know. I'm sure they have something like this in Arizona.

Kizmet-I am taking progesterone and my last pill is this Monday. I've never heard of it causing any bleeding, but anything is possible at this point. I actually tried to get another prescription yesterday from my Dr but he said no, maybe for this reason.

hopeofrbabies- I'm high risk because with my daughter i had pre term labor at 19w and shortening cervix. I was on complete bedrest at home for 4 months! So this time i will be getting u/s every 2 weeks to see if there is nay changes to my cervix and I will be getting p17 shots once every week to prevent pre term labor. I did carry her to term so I know i can do it again and its all worth it :) and yes i have the pressure going on especially if i do too much which is not hard with having a 10mo lol its completely normal your uterus is streching

2buns- if i were you i would reuest your doctor to monitor your cervix very closely especially with twins. Your change wasnt that big and everyone measures differently but since there was some difference i would demand for them to check it often. I had a smiliar experience i had pre term labor and shortening cervix since 19w (well the shortening cervix before that but nobody ever checked) at 16w i was at 3.6 which they consider great they say it should be anywhere between 3-4cm. at my 19w level 2 u/s it measured 2.7cm and at 20w it was down to 2cm with funneling. So i ended up on bedrest, i did carry my DD to term but it wasn't fun. Especially with twins you are at higher risk for these things I'm not trying to scare you but i think you have the right to request frequent checks and hopefully everything will be ok :) :)

kizmet- yey for your first big purchase!!! with my DD my first purchase was some cute clothes from gap :) lol If you dont mind me asing why are you high risk? i explained above why I am. oh and dont be jeaolous they do the u/s vagianlly first and i hate them! lol

I'm doing ok having my next check up this week hopefully my cervix is still nice and long but we will see. How is everyone feeling? Are you guys going to find out what your having? anyone not finding out?

2buns- I know your DH was embarrassed but I probably would have done the samething. I'm starting not to worry as much though and last time I had some spotting I didnt even bother calling the Dr. They never tell me anything new too just that its normal for the hemorriage and to take it easy and if it gets worse to call them or go to the ER. So, I think I'll only be having u/s done once a month from now on unless I have more complications. I'm hoping that the hemorriage will be gone at tomorrow's apt. I know my OB office does the 3d and 4d ultrasounds but I need to find out how much they are because my insurance doesnt cover it. Glad the place you found is cheap so you can keep checking in on your little ones! I'll keep my fingers crossed that your cervix is nice and long at your 14wk apt.

dys- Wow I cant believe you started having preterm labor at 19wks how scary. So glad that you were able to carry her to full term. I know bedrest sucks but I know you'd do it all over again for your precious daughter. Hopefully you wont have to go through it again with this pregnancy. What day is your apt this week? Are you feeling ok (ie no symptoms like last time)? I'm feeling pretty good myself. Heartburn is being bothersome but since I didnt have much m/s I guess I cant complain too much. That heavy feeling is pretty much gone and I only get sharp gas pains every once in awhile. We plan to find out what we are having. I'm hoping they can take a guess at our ultrasound tomorrow but it maybe too early still.

kizmet- I think its a good plan to buy a little each week. I was worried after we miscarried our first back in March because I had already painted our nursery. I kept asking my husband what I was going to do with a green room and crib (my sister in law gave us her's) if I never had a baby. I ended up refinishing a changing table that has been in the family since I was a baby, so I only need to buy little things now. Oh plus lots of clothes when I find out what we are having! Happy shopping to you. :D

DYS - I'm a type 1 (juvenile) diabetic, so they keep a pretty close eye on me. My weight and sugar control are excellent but that can change quickly so I have to see the OB and endo regularly. The OB has been a bit useless and really upset me on one occassion but my endo has been fabulous. Good luck with your next check up. DH and I have no desire to find out the sex of our bean before birth - I don't want to halve the fun of choosing names, etc! I'm not the sort to decorate in blues or pinks anyway, so the nursery will be neutral either way.

2Buns - Has the bleeding stopped? Is everything OK? My understanding is that Progesterone increases the blood flow to the uterus/cervix and can make the walls of your blood vessels thinner - it's what it is supposed to do so your placenta can form and function properly.

Hopeforbabies - I too have worried about doing the nursery too early, but I can't help it now! I think I'm addicted to baby shopping. Since my wall border purchase last week, my sister has told me I can have her change table and cot (both in the colour I wanted too!) as she is unlikely to have another baby herself (she did 4 fresh rounds of IVF and one FET last year without success at 45, so she is now relying on a miracle if she conceives again). It's very kind of her but I do feel a bit bad as I know she would love another baby of her own. She's insisting that I take them though, so I'm not going to say no. It means I'll have a lot more money to spend on other things which I have already set about doing! So we now have a portacot, a musical mobile, some clothes (mainly gifts from friends but I couldn't resist buying some teeny little socks and a jumpsuit and little pants), and a nappy stacker. I'm going to try and control my new addiction until next week when I've picked up the cot because I've got a few jobs I want to do in the nursery first - I have to clean my 20yo step daughter's junk out of there (she moved out about 6 months ago and left a giant mess that I just kept hoping she'd come back and clean it up because I don't know what she does and doesn't want).

AFM - Morning sickness seems to love me. 16 weeks and it just keeps on coming. Hoping next week is better!

Well we had our two apts on Monday and Tuesday and things went really well. The OB said I didnt have to listen to the stupid pregnancy books about only gaining 15lbs during pregnancy since my BMI is high. He said as long as I eat well my body will gain what it wants to gain. Since I have PCOS and he said that makes me prone to diabetes he had me go in today for an early glucose test. I'll repeat it at 28wks (when its normally done) but havent heard on the results yet.

At our Nuchal Translucency my mother and my husband were able to join me and we got to hear the heart beat for the first time. I asked the tech if she could see the hemorriage and she said if I hadn't told her she wouldn't have known I had one so its almost healed. I asked if she could tell the sex and she said if she had to guess she'd say it was a boy :D , but wasn't confident on it. I guess I'll have to wait till our 18th week u/s before I start buying blue or pink stuff. I have to wait a week for my blood results to come back before we get the offical report but the tech said everything looked normal to her. Oh! It was so cute while she was trying to get measurments the baby kept having hiccups!

Since the hemorriage is pretty much healed up the OB said I could resume things like exercise and intercourse. Of course after 13weeks of obstaining my DH and I thought we would give the horizontal limbo a whorl. Unfortanetly things didnt' go as planned which brings me to my question for you all. Has anyone had lots of pain with intercourse since getting prego? Usually its not a problem for us but my DH cant put enough of himself in me to stay errect. If he tries then there is LOTS of pressure and it hurts. Sorry for the TMI factor but I dont see my OB again until the 13th. I thought sex during pregnancy was suppose to feel really good but we cant seem to find a position that doesnt hurt. What do you all think?

Kizmet- I think its sweet for your sister to give you her stuff. Don't feel bad as she may not want these things to not be put to use. If she gets prego again (and I hope she does) then you can always give them back to her. Besides I'm sure she is excited for you and wants to help you out. As for nursery colors I went neutral too and did mine in green and white. If its a girl we will add pink and chocolate brown accents and if it really is a boy blue accents. What color did you choose?

Hopeforbabies - Fingers crossed all is good with your glucose test and NT results! I'm sure they will be. :D

As for nursery colours, the room we have is painted an eggplantish colour - it was my step daughter's room before she moved out and it has only been recently painted and since I don't mind the colour, I've decided to leave it even though it is quite dark, and fill it with lighter coloured (white) furniture and green based decor. I've attached a giant picture of the portacot set up in there. I also have a zoo themed wall border which will help brighten it up. We are currently in the process of building a new house on one of our farms, so although we wont be in it by the time the baby arrives, maybe by Christmas next year we will be - so I figured I wouldn't spend too much on repainting. The plan for this weekend is to wash the walls and put the border up and a friend is dropping off all her baby manchester and other bits and pieces, and Thursday I'm picking up the cot, so by the following weekend, it might start looking more like a nursery! I'll post another photo then.
nursery1.JPG
The prospect of weight gain is kind of worrying isn't it. I trully wish I had lost the weight I had wanted to prior to getting pregnant, so I could have fallen into that group of people that other say "Oh, wow, she looks great" about, but I can't see anyone saying that! LOL. I hate the thought of really struggling to lose the weight after the baby is born - I'm just hoping genetics helps me out on that front as my sister looked fabulous after her baby.

Sorry to hear things in the bedroom department aren't really going to plan. I have found things a little uncomfortable at times, but I guess persistance has paid off! :D Fortunately I haven't had any big scares like you had with the hemorrhage which I'm sure doesn't help and neither would your DH's concern that he is hurting you or that he might do something to hurt the bub. As crass as it might sound, and sorry for this, but perhaps you'll have to think about pleasuring each other in different ways?

Kizmet- I LOVE the color of your baby's room. Both my Dh and I love purple (purple and white were our wedding colors) and I think the white and green accents will go beautifully. I love that you are doing an animal theme too and I think the contrast of the bold animal patterns will help to stimulate your baby's eye development when it comes out. Please do post another pic when you get the rest of your baby furniture in.

As for our bedroom relations yes I think you are right that we will have to find...other means...for right now, but I'm not giving up either!  I'm going to try and post a pic from our u/s but I'm not too sure how so if it doesn't come through I'm sorry.

Nope I can totally see it. Not a blob its a baby! My baby kept rolling over too when the tech was trying to measure the spot on the neck for the NT. My DH said the baby is just like me and doesn't want to be disturbed while its sleeping!
