You start to realize you are definitely not alone in any of this. Awesome you're starting your meds on Dec 3rd. Not that far away!!! Here are some Abbreviations to help you.

RE - Reproductive Endocronologist (this is your DR)
ET - Egg Transfer
ER - Egg Retrevial
2ww - 2 Week Wait (this is between the Egg Transfer and Your first Ultrasound to find out if you're pregnant)
BFP - Big Fat Positive
BFN - Big Fat No
SnS - Stick and Spin (blood work)
US / BW - Ultrasound / Blood Work
AF - Aunt Flow (your Period)
BCP - Birth Control Pills
DH - Dear Husband
DD - Dear Daughter
DS - Dear Son
DPO - Days Past Ovulations
DPT - Days Past Transfer (you will see these with numbers)
FET - Frozen Embryo Transfer
HPT - Home Pregnancy test
PMA - Positive Mental Attitude
MC - Miscarriage
POAS - Pee on a Stick
PUPO - Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise

There's more, but if you come across something you dont understand, just ask !!! Hope this helps

Hi all, Wondering for those who had a m/c followed by a D & C, how long did it take for you to get your period. I'm at 5 weeks post d&c with no signs of AF. I had a couple of bouts of wicked PMS, but still no period... I'm eager for it as once I have 2 periods, I can have FET (we have 2 frosties..). Feeling discouraged re the wait...

Hi all, just checking in Tonight was day 7 of Lupron injections and I'm definitely feeling side effects. The biggest of them all would be the exhaustion! Man, yesterday I woke up with the kids at 7, we all took a 2 hour nap (older one was home from school with a stomach bug) and I STILL went to bed at 9pm! Today I had a headache bad enough to take ibuprofen, and my cheeks get hot often. Not so much a whole-body hot flash, but more like from the neck up.

I see my RE next Wednesday, get bw and us done and start stims that night! I can't believe I'm three weeks away from retrieval! (Estimated date, of course, but still!)

we will be doing IVF/ICSI possible TESE. I am on day 9 of Lupron, thursday i go in for a supression check, if im supressed i start follistim, my ER is estimated to be the week of november 29.


Zen_Scrapper-i feel you! you're describing exactly what im feeling...i can bearly make it halfway through the day without wanting to take a nap (except i cant cuz im in school! ) and i have a constant headache going on as well

Hi, totsie! We're doing IVF/ICSI, too! What is TESE? I tried to hit the sack an hour and a half ago, but the only time I can really get stuff done around the house is when the kids are in bed, so I did dishes and laundry instead. I am really lucky, though, because I do get to take naps when my youngest comes home from preschool

Dunno...I'm only on 10 right now, then down to 5 when I start stims.

Nicole - I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. After a D&C this can take a looooong time.

I found out on Sept 2 that our baby no longer had a heartbeat (I was exactly 8 weeks). I had a D&C on Sept 16. That was 9 weeks ago. My clinic followed up everyweek starting at 2weeks after D&C. It took 6 weeks for my hCG to get to zero. Then 2 weeks later, I still hadn't gotten a period, so they put me on a progesterone withdrawal protocol.... I just finally got my period this week.

I had wanted to do a FET in October.... then November.... now hopefully December. I'm sorry, but this can take a long time.

Try talking to Anna too (annashope). She had a miscarriage at 7 weeks in July and only got to a FET in November (she has her beta today, I think, so wish her luck).

Andrea - TESE is when there is no sperm in the ejaculate, but there is sperm in the testicles - so they go in with a needle and get some. My DH thanks his lucky stars that he has semen in his ejaculate and avoids the long scary needles into the scrotum - sorry for yours, totsie!

Welcome Jaime! You'll do fine. I was totally overwhelmed my first IVf.... my wish for all hte newcomers is that you NEVER become a vet like me! May it work the first or second time and THAT'S IT!

Ryan - how are things going?

AFM .... not really so many interesting updates. I'm taking my estradiol tablets and go back next week for another SnS.... FETs aren't so exciting - but they still stress me out like crazy, so thanks to all for listening to me!

Thank you for your kind words. Went to an orientation last night and it was very informational. My dh was overwhelmed after all of the info too. But we are looking forward to it. This sat I get my hydrosonogram and then will be starting my lupron shots on dec 3. Will keep you ladies posted.

I loved my first acupuncture treatment! It was so calming -- I felt so relaxed all day. I will definitely continue with treatments. If they do nothing more than help me to relax, they are so worth it.

Totsie - Awesome Welcome !! And yeah, you are pretty much right with everyone else! So exciting

Leorira - I hope you can do your FET in December ! Oh my poor husband had to go have a biopsy. They weren't even going to use a needle. I felt so sorry for him. But now that he sees what I am going through he thinks he got away easy

Jamie - Cool on your hydrosonogram. I just had a few weeks ago.

AFM - I'm still trying to get my insurance to cover menopur. And trying to figure out a way to go on FMLA. I keep trying to look forward to Monday when I can hopefully start injections. I couldn't do it last week because my Estrogen was too high. I found out a co worker (who did IVF) also had the same problem, so that made me feel better.

Chelle...I have found that throughout this entire process NOTHING seems to go as hoped in terms of scheduling. It took me a year, but I have finally learned to just go with the flow and not expect things to happen quickly. Everything will work out for you!

Jamie....Glad you got a lot of information...and YES it is so overwhelming! The look of DH's face through all of this is enough comic relief to get me through it all!

Leora...Things are good....I posted in the Fall group too! Still just taking the Estrace like you. It is so much less eventful than a fresh cycle! I actually liked seeing my RE almost daily during my fresh cycle because then I at least knew what was going on! I hate that I have to wait until the 29th to see if my lining is thick enough...I wish I could go in sooner so they could at least see that it was thickening fast enough! I don't want to go until the 29th just to get delayed AGAIN! In fact...maybe I'll call and ask

Totsie.... Welcome! I think everyone is on so many different doses of Lupron. I started on 20, then was upped to 40 and am now on 5. I think it just depends on what your doctor thinks you need. It never hurts to ask the RE if you really want a definite answer!

Andrea...I feel you on the Lurpon effects...ugh! Mine turned into full body hot flashed by week 4 and boy am I excited for them to be gone!

Hi ladies and welcome Totsie and Jamie.. its a pleasure to meet you both. Totsie, thank you so much for the abbreviation help. You answered so many questions! As far as the Lupron, like Zen I am only on 10 units then drop to 5 units later. To me this doesn't sound right. I will still follow everything to the T and am still hopeful for the best.

Nicole, I'm sorry to hear about your loss and I hope you get to start the next process soon.. Sending lots of baby dust your way! Many of us have gone through these rollercoaster rides and my heart truly goes out to you and everyone else in similar situations. The important (and sometimes the hardest) thing is to continue staying positive through it all.. I think this will help in the journey to success.

I have another ultrasound tomorrow and today is the last day of bc pills. I guess i'm going to expect af soon after..which is unusual because my cycles are usually so much longer. Has anyone else only been on bc pills for 8 days only? I'm also wondering about the side effects of the other meds, in my case menopur and follitism. Curious to know if anyone else can share their experience with these since I will be on them along with the lupron shots beginning next week. Im already soo very tired just with the 10 units of Lupron so I can only imagine what it will be like once the stims are started. Hope you are all doing well and thinking of you all! =]
