Heather-you probably already looked into this but incase you didn't...there are states that require insurance to cover ART in most cases. I think there a few excepts based on the company type of your employer (if employer based coverage). Your policy has to be written in the state the mandate is written.

Hi Ladies. Just got the call from my RE's office. Beta was postive however it's only 32.5....she said I was one day early and should have tested tomorrow at 12 days so perhaps that is the reason....UGH Test again on Wednesday. Not sure what to make of all of it...

Any thoughts, suggestions or guidance is MUCH appreaciate!

Karen-My husband works for the government and so he's a federal employee, he was in the Army for 14 years and then went to work for the Army and still deploys with them every year. January he leaves for deployment number 7. Unfortunately the state I live in (Alabama) has no ART requirement. According to our Federal insurance they have done a major overhaul since the government is trying to find money to pinch and so cutting our coverage was first. I heard but havent confirmed that Tricare is also taking a huge hit in the ART world. They wont be giving out referrals like they used to for ART services and looks like they will be self pay as well.
My husband and I discussed this insurance issue in length and we've looked at the states that require the coverage for ART and he's been trying to transfer to one of them. So time will tell.
We are also looking into adoption while doing our cycles and would like to do both. I dont understand why its so hard to adopt a baby these days. My girlfriend works at the hospital on Post and is an ultrasound tech. I wont even tell you how many 11 and 12 year olds she ultrasounds every month that are pregnant with babies that many childless couples would be happy to adopt but they end up getting lost in the CPS program. Its so sad! There is also a website I found lately that your VOTES determine whether a baby is born or aborted. Its so heartbreaking to hear about all the games people play with the women that desire motherhood. Anyways...... sorry I"ll step off my soap box now.... LOL

GOOD LUCK tomorrow Karen!! I know your babies are cheering for you too! Its so nice to have our own guardian angels!

Jennie - My RE said it's a positive test result at 25 at 14dpo, so it's sounds like you have a BFP from my point of view! How did they sound, hopeful? Indifferent? Did they specify what numbers they like to see? I'll be praying your #s double up perfectly within the next couple days so you can get the relief of knowing it's a BFP, like you deserve! :D Congratulations!

jennieswa - 12 days past ovulation or 12 days post transfer? How many days past ovulation (days past ER) are you? Keep the PMA as long as it is doubling it doesn't matter how high the number is and consider yourself pregnant! PMA and congrats on your BFP!

Heather
- that is great your doc is so helpful and you are not jinxing yourself!!!

Ryann - lots of prayers and good luck for your dad's surgery! Your RE sounds like a winner! Geesh. Your FET will be here sooner than you know it, I know the waiting sucks but you will be in a nine month wait here in no time!!!

kbillsy - welcome! good luck with stimms tonight - grow follies grow!!!

chelle - sorry this is frustrating but you want the best outcome possible so waiting a bit might be a good thing even if it doesn't seem like it right now. Sorry.

Amesy - so glad you are keeping busy! The wait for us is almost as hard as the one for 2ww!

Tammy - how are stimms going?

Can time go by any slower today ;) ?

Jennieswa - CONGRATS on a positive beta! I've heard too that FETs often start out lower than fresh and you are pretty early. So hoping Wednesday's beta rises beautifully and I'm sending you extra positive thoughts!

Mishell - Welcome and congrats on starting stims today! Glad to have you join our group! :D

kibillsy - Welcome back and YAY for starting stims!! Glad you had a chance to relax and not stress-out over IVF while you've been waiting to start.

Michelle - I'm so sorry you had more disappointing news today! I really hope they can figure it out.

Ryann - I can't wait until your FET!! And I still really want to slap your RE.

Heather - What kind of tricare did you have that covered anything for ART? I have United Healthcare through my work and Tricare Standard through DH (he's Army too) AND I live in a mandated state (NJ - but of course neither of our insurances are written in NJ) and nothing was covered except for the screening tests.

Jennie, if you are less than 14 days past ovulation, which it sounds like you are, 32.5 is not a bad place to start! Congratulations, and I know you are going to be tortured for another 48 hours, but I think you are doing well! My beta was 32.4 at 14 DPO. I freaked for a week until it got above 1,000, but it did! You have a lot more going for you seeing that you tested early! It stinks that it's not a huge BFP and that you are still somewhat in limbo, but that beta has to start somewhere!

Klinger,
When my husband was in the Army back in 2006 I had Tricare and I had to get a referral to go see an Infertility specialist in Savannah GA (Fort Stewart). I did several IUI's and Tricare paid for all the IUI's and for all the medications ie. clomid and then injectables. My girlfriend that still lives in Savannah and her husband is in the Army and has Tricare gave her a referral to that same specialist and now in 2010 she pays 300 for her IUI and pays a small copay for her injectables. She told me over the weekend that she was going to try again starting in January and that Tricare rep told her that she wouldnt be getting anymore referrals and would be self-pay all the way and no more copay's. ect.

Unfortunately Self insured plans follow federal law and are exempt from state law.

So I guess if my husband transferred it wouldn't make a difference if federal law trumps state law but I may could purchase an individual plan.

I had also looked into insurance Riders or separate individual plans for infertility coverage but again you have to live in certain states that have that state law. Its so confusing and the system is manipulated so much! It sucks!

Cassmaster-I have thankfully only ever had major lining
issues when I was on clomid. They said they are not worried
as I have always responded quite well to my meds every
other cycle. Hopefully a few days will make a huge difference.
That's awesome that your lining finally pulled through for you.
I'm hoping mine decides to do the same.

Sonya- I could use a good drink that's for sure. I'm too afriad
of what it might do to me with all these meds I'm on lol. I'm
crossing my fingers for a good implantation this time around
too. I seem to have the getting pregnant thing down pat but
I need to figure out how to stay pregnant. Hope your still enjoying
your new excitement. I'm soo happy for you :)

amesy- I will be having a glass or two of milk with supper.
It's worth a try, thanks for the tip!!

Chellede- I'm sorry your feeling so frustrated this journey
sure is not easy and has way too many bumps in the road.
Hang in there..

Rio- waiting for that beta of yours must almost be killing
you... Cause it's driving me nuts. Can't waitto hear results!

Rypell- still thinking of you and your dad. Praying all goes well
and we can be 2ww buddies..

Jennieswa- I hope your beta grows leaps and bounds by we'd. I
know how it feels being in beta he'll. My last two transfers I had
to go through that. It's not very fun. Saying a little prayer for you.

Afm- u/s this morning... Lining 6.7
after my nurse talked to my doctor they decided to do my fet
tues.nov.30th yay... I'm so happy. He said he's not concerned about
my lining at all so that's reassuring. He said we will give it until next
week to bulk up so I can relax now. I will be starting progesterone
on Saturday.... My fav needle for sure :(
anyways sorry for everyone I missed...

Hugs to all!!

jennie: That seems to be a right on target beta for such early testing! There is a website that you can compare your levels, but it doesn't seem to be working right now. You are only 11dpt and most test closer to 14 I believe. Congratulations!!! And can't wait to hear your doubling on Wednesday!! :)

Ryann: My goodness you aren't kidding about not having a minute to obsess over FET with all that you have on your plate these next couple weeks! Sorry about RE...grrr...but 12/3 has to fly here, because 12/2 is my beta day and I will be a total nut-job before then!
