blairwh58 wrote:Hey guys- I know its still early for me but I thought I would hop on over here and say hello. I am still nervous that something may happen but since I have no reason to believe anything is wrong I need to stay positive. I have checked in a couple times to read the posts but never said anything. I just had my first beta last friday and it was 317 at 11dp5dt, then I had the 2nd beta yesterday and it came back at 944 (14dp5dt). So I go for my first ultrasound Friday Dec 3. Dont have too much going on- sore boobs, get full really fast and then a little nauseated after...but nothing too bad. I will keep popping in but it sounds like everyone is a little further along. I think my estimated due date is July 27...but the RE hasnt mentioned it yet. Excited to be here finally and cant wait to share it with you all.

blair - Glad you joined us over here and please do keep on popping in! We're not too far ahead of you and since this is a summer group we should keep getting people join that are due even later in the summer. And we understand, most of us are still nervous that something will happen even though things have been good so far. DH & I will breathe a little easier once we see heartbeats, but for now I've just gotta keep thinking optimistically. Again, glad you joined us here and hopefully we'll get some more ladies due next summer to join us too.

Blair - We transferred 3 embies and had a 3dt so my betas were:

11dp3dt (14 dpo) = 266
15dp3dt (18 dpo) = 1126
18dp3dt (21dpo) = 3066
22dp3dt (25 dpo) = 11603
Had my u/s at exactly 6 weeks and saw 2 sacs w/ 2 yolk sacs and we're hoping to see heartbeats this week. My u/s is tomorrow and I'll be 6w6d by then.

Mine was a fresh cycle so a little harder to compare. How old were your frosties when you transferred them?

Is anyone cooking Thanksgiving dinner? Is anyone planning to share there news on Thanksgiving? I'm going to wait till Christmas at the earliest, I think. My parents know because while we were going thru this cycle they took care of my daughter which was a huge help. I just hope I get in a better place soon. I'm sure as things develop my attitude will change. I gues I have to give myself some time.
We are hosting Thanksgiving for his parents this year and we're going to tell them. While I would really like to wait until week 12 to tell, they live 14 hours away and we don't see them in person that often so this is the best time. I'll be 9 weeks then so hopefully, things are likely to remain okay.

My parents already know... I told my parents that we were doing IVF.

We are not going to tell his parents about the IVF part since I don't want to explain. Somehow, I believe that the take home message would translate to "There was something wrong with her so they had to have a test tube baby... I hope that it comes out normal.".

Is anyone else not telling people how they got pregnant?

HappyBunny- congrats on 9 weeks! I just got my first beta today of 111! We transferred one blast on day 6. I'm so excited. I just know all is going to be ok!

There are only a few people outside of family that know we did IVF. But overall I am very open about it. I was asked a lot my last pregnancy bc i had twins. I think it is a personal choice. But it seems most people under 50 don't find it weird. My own mom asked me "are you sure you want to do this" when I told her about having to do ivf. Which I found odd bc I was a clomid baby and she struggled with getting pregnant. And I'm not doing it bc of me. We have male factor issues. And bc of age we couldn't spend 5 years trying. I told her" mom I'm not having elective plastic surgery!!!!". That of course will be to make my stomach look normal again after the having babies phase is over!!!

Hi ladies,

Gi mam here, gina went to hospitial for checkup and they said they would keep her in.

Quick update - I had my u/s today and Baby 1 is large and we got to see the heartbeat. Baby 2 is smaller and she couldn't see a heartbeat but the tech said she could see a fetal pole but I have to be prepared for the worse and that we could lose the baby. I did have a feeling since my last HCG was not very large. They said the embie could just be a delayed implanter and when we go back next week we could see a heartbeat. So, now we just wait and see. If it doesn't work out at least if the one stay healthy and strong I will feel very blessed. It is a sad and I do feel guilty if we lose the one, but I also know that if there is something wrong then my body has to do what's right.

Hugs to all and Happy Thanksgiving for those in the US!!

Bichon - I'm glad you got to see the heartbeat for 1. Our u/s was similar in that we saw & heard 1 heartbeat. YAY!!! That was such a beautiful thing!!! We couldn't stay on it long enough to get a measurement but the RE said it sounded nice and fast. That baby's CRL measured 6w2d and we're 6w6d but RE wasn't concerned about that.

The 2nd sac though has not progressed at all. It is a lot smaller than A and has no evidence of a fetus at all so they think that one's eventually just going to be reabsorbed. Sad that the second one is most likely not going to make it but having a singleton would be a lot less risky with my questionable cervix. So we're taking it as "everything happens for a reason".

Next Wednesday I have an appt in the a.m. to meet a new OB/GYN and then another 7:45pm appt with the RE so we'll get more peeks at the little one next week.

Awww I'm sorry that one little guy isn't doing as well as the other.. but it is wonderful that one seems to be thriving and doing so well! Did you get a heart rate? I will be praying that next weeks brings even better news with two gorgeous little heartbeats. Big hugs... enjoy your weekend!

Klinger I was only just now able to check the boards. I'm so happy you got a heartbeat!!! I'm sorry that the other sac was not promising... how awesome that you have such reassuring news - does it make it all that much more real? I hear you on the risk factor.... I would love twins but it would be double the worry as well. For you it would be very stressful...however... no matter what happens you would be amazing - one or two babies! Huge congrats... the late night appointments are a bit of a bummer, though!! Can't wait for a heart rate and report next week. YAYYYYY!!!
