thanks for the kind words guys.... I know that the odds are so good - but they were last year too. The odds of loss after 20 weeks is less than 1%.... and yet it happened to me. The odds of a couple under the age of 25 getting pregnant within a year of unprotected sex - 99% - we are that 1% - AGAIN.... people keep telling me I should buy lottery tickets.

I think the thing that is really getting me down is my more recent missed miscarriage. I finally got pregnant again after 2 failed FETs. I was *SO* sure this was the one. But it wasn't.

Karen - I lost my twins after baby girl A's water broke. I was told that I had to induce labor to save my own life - so we did. But now that I do more research - plenty of people with pPROM end up with healthy preemies - especially a fraternal twin whose amniotic sac was still in tact.... there are lots of things we can do to prevent pPROM in the future (p17 injections, more careful monitoring) - and the odds of it happening again are about 30%. I'm so terrified to lose again in the 2nd trimester - but it's even more frustrating that I can't even GET there again.

I think what is exacerbating all of this is that we decided to try to adopt (either continue with both - or take a break from the IVF). Adoption is AWFUL. First of all - we have to lie on all of our paperwork - because in this country it's illegal to adopt if you have psychiatric problems. I was diagnosed with depression about 5years ago. I've been medicated and stable since then - with no break downs. I've never been hospitalized or attempted suicide. Doesn't matter - the fact that I've met with a psychiatrist (and continue to do so) is enough to prevent me from EVER adopting here. So we fill out the paperwork and check the box that says "no psychiatric history". I live in terror that someone will find out...

International adoption will cost us about 30,000 Euro - money we don't have. Also, the youngest child we could get is about 1.5 years old.
Domestic adoption has a 6 year waiting list. We might get bumped up (because we are young and have no other kids), but still - a loooooong wait.

I'm trying not to pin too many hopes on this cycle working.... but what else can I do?

(sorry to be such a downer - but it's being a bad day)

Hey Sonya~ Wanted to pick your brain a little...I haven't tested out my trigger, but fairly certain it's gone now, but, my question for you is....what day do you think you finally got a BFP that was clear, and not your trigger. I saw that you said you went straight from trigger to bfp without really seeing a negative. Is that right? So, I'm just curious when you think it went from trigger to pregnancy. :) I don't know when I want to test yet. DH's birthday is Thursday, and I will be 5dp5dt, might test then. Not sure what to do with this cycle. Also, I just wanted you to know how happy I am for you. You are so very deserving of this! :) Congratulations.

Angela- you are a sweetie for checking in and I see you are on your home run to your gorgeous little girl!

Karin - you should be fine, really, a lot of clinics even just say go about your life as normal and don't have any restrictions. Your uterus is sticky and deflated and it will be if it is meant to be, I really don't think there is anything you can do to change the outcome at this point so please don't stress yourself out about having done too much on one day, you will be fine and your babes are snuggling in!

Margi - did you POAS yet? Come on girl test that trigger out! ;) pee on something! Oh I just saw your post, good girl! Yeah it is nice to be sure triggr is completely gone, go pee some more!

Karian - PMA girl! You are only 13dpo and it could be too soon to pick up those levels on HPT, so please do keep your hopes up, plenty of false negatives happen! Which test did you use?

moore - you are an awesome cheerleader here! How are you feeling? Keeping busy or going crazy?

Cshell - congrats on starting stimms!

Leorira - hoping your FET stays on track! Awesome news! Seems like we are always waiting for something here! PMA girl you will have a healthy pregnancy! I understand you are scared but miracles do happen every day and you have to stay positive and visualize your baby! :)

klinger - when is your next US, tomorrow?

Karen - how are you feeling? I cannot wait to hear your beta!

mellow - go pee on a stick ;) the wait is killing us!

Tammy - hello!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you?

I scheduled my US! 12/8! Oh I can't wait! This 2WW is almost as bad as the other 2WW! I am only getting 2 betas this time, my old RE used to do 4 but 2 were very early. Is it common to just get 2 betas? WTF? I need my numbers fix! ;) I am now addicted to POAS and to getting betas. I am going straight to OB for the US and just am praying so hard for a healthy HB! I am trying not to overanalyze everything since my symptoms are screwed up with OHSS right now. As for Thanksgiving I think I am skipping it this year, I will let DH and DS go to my in laws and I will say I have the flu. If I go to see them, I look 8 mos preggers and they know we did IVF before, they will ask me 500 questions. We aksed them for help in paying for this one since they are loaded and we had paid for 2 IVFs on our own, they said nope. Not even $100. And now she shows me her new Macys bed spread, new flatscreen tv, two new cars totalling over 120,000. So I truly don't think they are deserving to know that we got a BFP right now, they can find out when everyone does when we are 12 weeks. So I will avoid the whole thing and stay home I think. What do you think? Am I being too revengeful?

rio - YAY for having your u/s date! WOO-HOO! I think you're absolutely justified to not go and make them wait to find out with everyone else at 12 weeks! You stay home, put your feet up, relax, and have DH bring you home some leftovers. :) And yes, my u/s is tomorrow night at 7:45...it's going to be a long day of waiting for that one!

Sorry not been on for a while.....been spending some time with my family think it's the hormones! I'm nervous and excited just want it to be Thursday, hopefully seeing my scan will help me be a little less anxiuos!!

Can I ask a silly question......my embryo was created on 19th Oct and my ET was 22nd Oct so I would guess I'm 5 weeks pregnant from tomorrow? but my friend says I'm 7 weeks as it counted from when you last period would be sooooo confused!!!????

Hi Amesy - I can't wait until you have your u/s Thursday! There are some due date calculators online for IVF that allow you to put in your egg retrieval date to figure your due date. So using the 19th as your ER date, it says you are 6w6d. (Here's one of the sites with the calculators: http://www.ivf.ca/duedate.php)

THANK YOU!!!!

I am just over the moon! I was so scared walking over and going to the lab, yep I cheated and didn't wait for the call, I had DH take me to the lab and I got a copy of it!!! My Estradiol is 3150 is that super high? Might be why I have OHSS...

Krys - that is great news on your scheduled FET, you will PUPO in no time!!!!

jennies - sounds like you are on target, saying doubling prayers for you on Wednesday, keep the PMA, you ARE PREGNANT!

WOOOOOOOOO FRICKING HOOOOOOOO I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RIO: Definitely DO NOT go to Thanksgiving....rest with feet up, and as Amanda said, have DH bring you some yummy leftovers. Especially with OHSS you shouldn't be "partying" it up...lol..you know what I mean. And that is unreal about your inlaws, but unfortunately, I believe it. So sorry, and no, you are not too revengeful--just taking care of yourself and your emb-baby which is the priority now! New bedspreads...indeed! Who cares? You have a much better "new" addition on his/her way..... :D :D December 8th...here you come!

Mellow: There was a good thread Sonya started October 21st that talks about trigger and has Ghost weighing in "When Does Trigger Fade?". The POAS-pushing DIVA that I am--I have printed it today for easy reference. (I am SERIOUSLY in Crazytown. Can you tell?)

Amanda: Can't wait to hear your u/s results tomorrow!

karenthescorpio: YIPEEE!!! You can officially celebrate a good, STRONG, BFP!!

nat&alex - I'm sorry you're having to go through such a tough time. Definitely take the time you need to cry, scream, vent and heal. I'm glad you have 4 frosties as that definitely gives you some more chances once you're ready to try again, without going through another fresh cycle. This board is great for information and support so I hope you'll stick around!

Whhooaaaaa my OB said I can have my US on Dec 2 or 3 instead of the 8th. I will only be 5.5 weeks then probably not able to see a HB... do I keep the appt for the 8th or go early?
