Looks like we might be trying something in February too. You know I'm thinking in 2011--we'll ALL be too busy with other things (yes, you know what I mean), so this year let's go ahead and throw a holiday party. Why not get TTC off our minds for a little while, and we definately deserve to have a little fun! So my dh and I decided today to throw a Christmas party for the neighborhood! Tiz the seas and spike up the eggnog, LOL I'm already sluring words!!! Wait, I hear this is more of THE wine crowd! Can I say thank you ladies for being the most supportive group ever, because you have been the best!
Now let's stay busy over the holiday season, and bring in 2011 with new hope and much bundles of joy! :D :D :D
Wishing you a fabulous holiday season!

Sunshine1576- You are to funny, I am with you on the Holiday drinks :) I havent had a drink in months... If your neighborhood is wine drinkers you should make sangria ( i always add vodka to mine) No one knows cause you mainly taste the red wine :) Cheers to a better new year for all of us... I have high hopes we will all be pregnant together... :) These forums make this experience so much easier...

Kynlee,
Sangria with vodka sounds fabulous and what better place down here to find that but at "The Wine Dog"! Great local gift shop with wine everything under the sun! I do have a collection of wine started. :) We went to Napa Valley last January for my dh's work conference...Of course, he worked while I drove around with a new friend I met from Dallas,Tx. We had a blast sampling various wines w/ chocolate and got to tour a unique castle called the Castello di Amorosa. If you're ever in San Fran, Napa V. is only 1 hour away, so definately worth the drive! Come to find out I am more of a Pino Grigio fan, as my sinful collection has grown. Definately want to go back and visit the vineyards again, but have more time there for dh to enjoy it too. We live in Florida now, just the two of us down here but hopefully soon that will change. :) I believe 2011 is going to bring so many opportunities and exciting changes to all of us! I love this forum, so thankful I found all of you...Absolutely brings a whole new meaning to "Crazytown" you know! Have a great Thanksgiving week! :) :) :)

Kynlee will have to try some sangara with volka lol and the best part of the party all my neighbors can walk themselves back home lol That's the BEST part...No designated drivers needed when you're throwing a neighborhood party! Can hardly wait to get everything planned for 12/11

My dh asked me tonight if I was going to get back on here tonight and do some messaging. He isn't allowed to come into the room whatsoever whenever I'm on here, you know in case I'm talking about him or something in relation :)
 I couldn't even imagine how he would react if I posted a picture of him and me together on here! I love seeing everyone else's pix, :D but some guys think they have privacy rights or something. He already feels like the world is watching him, magnifying his life 3X more than what it REALLY is, but that's his perspective on life. (See now you know why he isn't allowed to come in while I'm on here.)

He's constantly comparing himself to others and when seeing other families walk by with their sweet children, he's saying things like, "I bet HE has a good thyroid!" or maybe he should of gone into construction...I'm like what? We constantly go back and forth blaming ourselves, but hopefully someday we can look back at this and laugh. We are blessed that this is the only obstacle we've faced throughout our wonderful marriage, but sometimes we wonder if we would be here today had we started ttc ten years ago. Well maybe we would now be at some conclusion I guess and not growing old and retiring at 70. But the truth is we cannot change what's happened, we can only move forward and find the best outcome to making our dream a reality!
Happy Thanksgiving. We already have much to be thankful for (each other)!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Sunshine- Hope you had a Good Thanksgiving... :) You sound like me I dont let DH see me typing either, he would die if I posted a picture of us, he is so private and he doesnt want anyone to know we are going through ivf..... I wish we could talk openly about this with the family, but he wont let me.. I even told him we could say it was me with the issue, cause honestly I dont care what people would think, I just know I want a baby just like they all do I just need help... guys just take things different then us girls do... well I am glad I meet so many people on here that are in the same situation it feels great to chat with people about it and it helps alot... I hate bottling it all up, sometimes i feel weak about it and then all of sudden I get super strong again with knowing it will happen...

Cheers to a New Year with New beginnings... :)

Kynlee,
Thanks for the "warm & fuzzy feeling" post tonight! I'm the same way, wish we could be more open about our treatment with family. Well my mom knows I've been seeing a doctor, but she doesn't know we've tried IVF once already. I didn't tell her since I knew her follow-up question would be how much did it cost and the next thing she really would do is send us a check in the mail and that would just make me mad. She works double hard for what she has and the last thing I need is mom giving us money. The other day she told me that she bought my oldest brother's 3 yr old son a new bed and recently bought my other brother a crib for their newborn and said she wanted to give us 1,000 since she did all that for my brothers. I told her to save her money and she did. The truth is my husband and I have decided that we don't want anyone helping, because we've been independent for so long. We live pretty far from family that when the moment does come, we decided we're not going to tell anyone this time. So I'm glad I have someone out there to talk to because we shouldn't keep our emotions bottled up. We do have so much in store for us in 2011...Yes, a new beginning, bringing us opportunities with a precious bundle of joy!

Sunshine- There are great days ahead of us, This summer will be sporting that yellow polka dot bikini with a giant belly!!!! :) Having friends through this process that understand eachother is so helpful... Its easy to vent to eachother since the other one understand what they are feeling for the most part... My sister knows what I am going through and never talks to me about it, it kinda hurts my feelings cause I would of thought she would be more here for me especially since both our parents have passed away and I am so private that I opened up to her... So now I dont tell her about my appt's I will just wait till I can annouce to everyone that I am preggers :) i will leave her on the same page as the rest of my family... Just glad I have DH to cry to while I go through the emotions of this process... Well have a great day I have to head to church. :)

Sunshine and Kynlee- you ladies have been chatting away. I just caught up and I think I've got it right, you ladies are looking at a possible February cycle? If so, call us the 3 Musketeers because I found out last week that's when I'll start too!! So we can share pregnancy stories together!

I hope everyone's Thanksgiving went well and you can send me a private message to find out what gift I want for Christmas since the BFP will have to be a Valentine's Day gift from the looks of things.

What processes are you ladies doing in December/January to get ready for the February cycle? They put me on BCP's last Tuesday and did my initial bloodwork and ultrasound. How 'different' that was with AF raging. Next week I have more bloodwork and a mock trial. After that, who knows. They said the transfer won't be until February so they'll discuss it in more detail in January. As a newbie, it sure would be nice to know what's ahead. But as always, I'll keep reading the forums so I can get an idea of what to expect.

Don't drink too much...well okay, have fun before you get pregnant. 8)

justsolost- My Thanksgiving was good, would have been better if I were eating for two, but maybe next year :) Wow that would be cool all of us in Feburary I like the sound of the 3 Musketeers lol... Well I go to the Dr on Friday (Dec 3rd) to see what we are going to do, but I know we are starting fresh again, since I have no more frosties... I am going to ask her if I can start meds end of Jan for a feb transfer, I am sure she will ok it... What do you mean by processes for Dec and Jan? if you mean BCP, I dont think I will need to be on them, the Dr didnt have me on them last time... I believe I will be still doing what I did last cycle since it worked for me except the OHSS which she already said she would have to lower my med intake... I will be praying for all of us to get our wish for the New Year... Are you doing frosties or fresh? I been trying to read up on thigs to help with male count etc, I am going to go to the health store to see if they have some supplements my DH can take... I also read diet is good when going through IVF... Have you tried the pineapple thing after ET? Well talk to you soon...

Kynlee-by processes I was meaning just that, anything like BCP's or ultrasounds or bloodwork. I still can't figure out why I'm on BCPs since my cycle is super regular/predictable. More than DH sometimes. lolol...just kidding, well maybe not. But AF is regular and it's like a month or so before other start them. If I'm not starting until February, why am I starting now? But they know what they're doing I hope.

I'll be doing a fresh cycle as I've never done any type of IVF before so I have no eggs outside my body just yet. During the ultrasound last week they lady did say she saw some follicles on both sides. What that means, I'm still googling. I was thinking, if you see them, just go ahead and get them. I guess it doesn't work that way. :? And what's with the pineapple? I do enjoy it, especially with some cool whip. But is it supposed to help with fertility?

We are taking a little break from the IVF clinic until next year, but will see what the holidays might bring if we decide to get drunk. lol just saying! My neighbor next door brings over Smirnoff's blueberry lemonade and I'm totally addicted, but I'm more than anything glad we have great neighbors. Sometime last Feb. we got a bfp and I would give anything if I could remember what we did differently. I remember not being on Clomid that month for one thing, and that month I followed an idea ( in using Robitussin) which I got from a nurse. I had talked with this nurse when I was going in for a physical for my BlueCross Blue Shield Insurance. She had struggled too and even went through 6 miscarriges. Anyway I gathered what doctors used to do 30 years ago was recommend Robitussin to improve fertility.

 Robitussin when used before ovulation time actually helps to thin out CM (cervical mucus) so the swimmers can reach the egg a little easier). I remember that she told me to carefully inspect the ingredients list to make sure the ONLY active ingredient was guaifenesin. Not sure if this really helped, since I have tried it again after our mc and it hasn't worked the second time around. We also baby danced every other day, which my RE laughed when I told him that. He said the Robittussin makes sense, but he had never heard the lingo "baby-dance" before. So I said let me rephrase that for you intercourse...lol and my husband's face  (and probably mine too) was blood shot red! You would think RE doctors know the lingos we use! BTW I wonder who created them, maybe it was one of us! :D  :)

Justsolost, I also heard about the pineapple, and tried that around the week of embryo transfer but it had no effect on me, probably ate way too much pineapple which explains why I'm not much into pineapple anymore. Who knows, maybe in moderation? About the follicles, the more the better. From what I gathered the eggs grow in the follicles and each time you are monitored she will be measuring to see how much they have grown. Follicles over 18 mm is really good and once they look "ripe" they will give you a trigger shot for ovulation and somewhere between 36-48 hours later you'll go in for embryo retrieval. It all happens it seems so fast, and then we have to wait the forever longest two weeks to find out it work, but anything worth having is not meant to be easy and we've learned perservance really means EVERYTHING in the IVF world!

8) Kylnee, we all will be sporting an itsy-bitsy polka-dot bikini this June on the beach and dh will be thinking what have I done? Sooo glad we have supportive husbands that are truly there for us every step of the way.
All I know right now, in spite of everything that has happened, this has made us closer and certainly stronger! :) :) :)
Have a good week!
