I had my follow-up/post IVF consult today. Our RE was so very kind and compassionate. Just super super nice!!

We have one frostie that is a "good B". He doesn't like doing FETs when you only have one but he said he will do whatever we want. It's totally up to us.

His recommendation is another fresh cycle. He said he would change my meds up a bit. He would start me out on the higher does of Bravelle that I ended this cycle on and add in Menopur (I think) and another drug that I can't remember the name. I think it started w/ the letter "d" He said it's the drug they use for poor responders. He said he wasn't putting me in the category of poor responders but more of a slow responder. He's hoping that by changing up the meds we'll get better quality eggs. My number was good (15) but the quality was lacking.

My husband said if $$ weren't an issue, we would go for another fresh cycle; however, $$ is an issue. Dh thinks that with the extra hours he's picking up and our tax refund we could swing a fresh cycle but it will be TIGHT....very tight!

I asked the RE if he would give a percentage on the FET resulting in pregnancy. He said probably a 60 - 70% chance it would make it through thaw but then only at 25 - 30 % chance it would result in pregnancy. Not the precentage I was hoping to hear but I'm thankful for his honesty.

We still aren't sure what we are going to do. If you have any Bravelle that you won't be using, I would love to be the receipient of it. :-) That would certainly help with the costs.

Do y'all have any thoughts or input?

Nancy
Nancy if we get past the 12 week mark I have about twelve vials of Bravelle that I would trade for 1/2 the cost? So I could sell you half and give you half? LOL I got over-dispensed and they wouldn't take it back.

Hi girlies...

Jennie...I am so very sorry about the chemical pregnancy...I know exactly how you feel, it sucks. Big Hugs. Yay for frosties, though.

Karen...Congratulations mama!!! Very exciting news!

Amanda...Yayyy for a hearing a heartbeat today!!! But, I'm also very sorry about the one that didnt make it. Hugs!

Rio...Your betas are terrific!!! How exciting! I am so very very happy for you!!! I hope your OHSS goes away soon...I am sooo worried about you.

Karin...How are you feeling girlie?

Nancy...Sooo happy to hear that you might be able to try again...especially with all the generous women helping you out. :D

Anna...Yikes! I'm so sorry that you have been sick. Please take it very easy and get well soon!

Karian...Congrats on a positive beta! Hoping and praying for a huge beta on Saturday! Keep the faith! We arent giving up on you!

Amesy...Cant wait to hear all about your u/s.

Kbillsy...Sooo glad to see you back here with us....yayyyy!!! Good Luck on your SnS on Saturday!

Stephanie...Yayyy for moving on and graduating. Very exciting! I love that blinkie! Happy Thanksgiving to you, too.

Chelle...I cant believe that you are dealing with too high of E2's...what a serious bummer. I hope that everything looks good at your next check...Monday is it..and that you get to finally start your meds. Love the blinkie....too cute!

Lou...You and your DH have been in my thoughts and prayers all day today. I hope that all went well.

Ryann...You and your dad have been on my mind alot as well...and I am hoping and praying for a terrific outcome for you both next week.

Nat&Alex...So very very sorry. Big Hugs.

Lauren1171...Your story cracked me up. lol Sorry AF is such a witch...mine was too this time...must mean we are both getting BFP's to make up for it, since neither of us will have another AF for at least 9 months or longer. lol

Margi and Ester....You are both sooo calm and doing terrific in the 2ww. You go girls! Kudos!

Love the blinkies Margi and Rio.

Margi...When are you poas...have you decided yet? I cant wait to hear all about your BFP!

Ester...Yeah, pics did not go well at all. He was screaming, kicking, and throwing fits. You would have thought we were torchering the poor kid. lol What a fun age. I'm doing okay. I'm just trying to stay real calm this cycle and take everything more in stride than in the past...and things are looking good. No one really even knows we are doing this again. I cant wait to hear all about your BFP beta...which I know is going to happen for you, with all the visualization and calmness you have found. I am trying to learn from you.

Cheri...How are you doing, girlie?

Bakers Baby...Yayyy for starting meds!

AFM: I had a SnS on Monday...4 follies were measured so far all around 10mm or less. E2 276 and lining 10. I had another SnS yesterday (Wed) and I now have 6 measurable follies all mostly around 12-13.5mm with 1 being around 8.5mm. E2 610 and lining 12. This is much much better than last month...when I had a couple of big ones and a couple of really little ones. Most are in my good ovary...the one that doesnt hide so much. They are all very close in range and very even and nice looking too. My cycle is going at a nice steady pace, not too fast and not too slow either....I have a good feeling about this cycle. I moved my approx ER date from Nov 28th to Nov 29th now and it may even be the 30th. ET will be either Dec 2nd or 3rd. Jump starting my cycle with a bigger dose of meds and then cutting back after 2 days...seems to be working...knock on wood. I dont go back for another SnS till Saturday...which was a huge shocker to me...at this point in the past, I am there everyday or at least every 2 days ready to trigger...but since everything is moving at a nice easy pace...Saturday is perfect.

Thank you again for all of your stories about your siblings and mothers, etc. It makes me realize that I am not alone in my crazy family. I'm just so very sorry for drudging up bad feeling for some of you. Dinner went well last Saturday night with my brother and I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner now. Making up has helped with my cycle...I'm sure. So thank you again for being there for me girls.

On a side note...I'd like to ask for some extra prayers and thoughts for a friend of mine. She took her 1 yr old son Zach (bday last week on the 18th) in for what she thought would be a breathing treatment since he is sick. They immediately transferred them to another hospital and admitted him after a chest xray. They did a MRI this morning and found a golf ball sized tumor in his chest. They will remove as much and hopefully all of it next week. They used the word -blastoma on the end of alot of fancy words that they were saying to her...and it doesnt look good. I am just sooo sick over this. I am up right now, because I cant sleep. I just cant imagine what they are going through right now.

You know we all have alot to be thankful for...and even when it doesnt seem like it...we do. I always try to remember that someone somewhere has it alot worse than we do. I hope everyone has a wonderful turkey day and feels as though they too have alot to be thankful for as well. Happy Thanksgiving girls!

Jennieswa - I'm so sorry for your chemical but glad you have "frostie insurance"

Nancy - I understand your decision. Is your frozen a blast? Blast FET's can have great success rates.

Klinger- So sorry for the loss of a twin but ecstatic for you to get a healthy heart beat.

Karian- Nope, don't give up yet. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

Tammy- sounds like a great cycle for you!

AFM- Dh's procedure went well. We'll know in a few months how well. My HSG showed a blocked right tube. I'm tentatively scheduled for a laparotomy dec 12th. I'm really upset about this. If my next ivf works then I don't really need the surgery... But if we have to try on our own for a while, then i want the best chances. I would wait til after my next cycle but doing it before the end of the year saves thousands as my insurance is changing for the worst.. Ugh, what should I do? Other than that, my birthday is sunday. ****. I thought I'd be pregnant by now. So sad right now.

Lou; I'm glad DH's surgery went well, hopefully it makes a huge difference for you guys. So sorry about the blocked tube, but at least you know and are informed, right? You have had some really tough decisions in front of you lately and with the stress of IVF they can't be the easiest. You know that one day doesn't magically make anything better or worse for conception, right? It's just a day, not an entire year that passes overnight. You are only as old as your eggs! I hope that you can somehow put the baby thing in the back of your mind for a day and really enjoy your birthday for all the other things it signifies .... a vibrant, beautiful, intelligent woman in the PRIME of her life, celebrating her accomplishments and journey.

Big hugs.

Tammy - Sunday will be CD13 - in the past my FETs have been at CD21 or so. So maybe the Sunday after that (Dec 5)? I hope! On Sunday they will tell me when to start taking my progesterone. I will take it for5 days before the transfer, since my embryos are day 5.

Lou- I totally relate to the "I should be pregnant by now". We are coming up on the 2 year anniversary of our dx (that we would need IVF) as well as the 1 year anniversary of losing our twins. I TOTALLY thought I'd be pregnant again by now....It's really heartbreaking that I'm not. Either way - happy birthday!

Lou's comment about "frostie insurance" makes me feel weird. I'm sooooo pessimistic about my FET. I wish that I *didn't* have frosties, so that I could do a fresh cycle again. I've had 2 fresh cycles - both BFPs and 2 FETs - both BFNs. I've asked several doctors (and Ghost here!) why my FETs would fail but the fresh ones all work. Everyone has said that my FET protocol is perfect - and what is probably happening is that we are transferring the best embryos on the fresh and the 'less good' on the FET (but all my embryos have been great! The lowest we transferred was a A/B - most are A or A+)

So I'm just trying to get this FET over with so I can start fresh again!

We have two frozen blasts and are almost definitely transferring both of them. I know that twins is a great risk for me (since I lost twins), but I'm dying here.... I can't take much more of this!

I know how hard this is... but think of it as practice for motherhood... mommies need to be patient... absorb worry with everyday tasks.... learn to inject calm into the worst of situations.... and have constant positive outlooks. It's tough, but please try to focus on the best. It is the only way you can have any control on what happens. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I am doing okay today- I stil haven't lost it. I think it's because I didn't ever believe I was pregnant. I have stopped the PIO and will gradually take off the estrogen patches. We will try again next year...first my DH has to have shoulder surgery and then we will focus on the FET. If we use all 3 frosties and have no luck I'm not sure we would do a fresh cycle again. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
