DJ-BJ: That is beyond good! That is great!! How many did you transfer? That could possibly be multiples?!? This website is very helpful regarding beta levels, but doesn't always work:

http://www.betabase.info/

How many dpo are you? If 14dpo...over 200 is average for twins! And if not, shows a good strong bean in there!

Hi, I am Kerri. I started the first ivf in September and it is my second attempt now. Before the beta test tomorrow, I join this BFN group. Like my first IVF, the menstruation came before the test. I guess the doctor will have me continue the third attempt immediately. I start feeling annoyed by the whole process and feel like a baby machine...

Does anyone know what it implies when menstruation comes 11 days after ET?
Hi Kerri - I am in the "BFN before Beta" boat as well. I haven't started bleeding yet, but I tested negative yesterday.
I have had 2 cycles that AF came before the beta and 2 cycles that it did not come until I stopped all meds. I am waiting it out until beta day on Monday- but I am certain it is BFN.

Getting your cycle at around 11dpt would be like 14 days past ovulation (if you transferred 3 day blasts). It is the natual time to start bleeding.

I hear how you feel, it is frustrating and exhausting. All the women on this board are the bravest women I have ever seen. Let them inspire you to keep going.

Hey ladies- I am in th BFN group as well. :( This is my second attempt and we transferred 2 2day frosties. I still have 4 frosties left but I am about to hit 35 and definitely want 2 so I am planning on talking to my RE about doing another fresh cycle so I can keep my younger embies for later. Plus-I didn't even realize that waiting until blastie stage was an option until I found this site during my 2 ww. It makes so much more sense to me and I'm confused as to why it wasn't given to me as an option considering I had 8 embies in my first fresh cycle. I also am frustrated that we went ahead with this cycle despite the fact my lining was measuring thin. I am 3 hours away from my RE so I use a local Doctor for blood work and ultrasounds. When my RE told me I was measuring thin he said "don't worry about it, your Doctor always measures thin." But we never measured again before transfer! Trying not to get caught up in the "what should I have done differently" game, but I just don't feel like my RE is doing a good job of communicating with me. Stll, the center has the best results in the state so I am not inclined to switch.

I'm sad, confused, and looking for advice and support.

It seems like most the women on this site have done 5 day transfers. What experiences have you had and why do you think a doc would do 2 days at all given the higher success rates of blasties?

Also- how long do you think you should wait between cycles? I really want good quality eggs this time and am thinking I want to take some time to do a fertility diet/detox before beginning a fresh cycle. I am healthy but am thinking it might be good to be totally alcohol free for a few months. I am also a long distance runner and have read that too much exercise can negatively impact fertility so I might also try to change up my exercise plan and put on a few healthy pounds ( a thought I hate!)

Finally- how cruel is it that we get AF only a couple days after a BFN??? I mean...how much crueler could this process be? Give me horrible news...then follow it up with cramps and PMS? :D :D :D

On acupuncture- I started it and meditation 2 weeks before this FET. I too LOVED it and am planning on going weekly until I get preggo!

Thanks in advance for your support...and thanks for starting this thread.

It is now confirmed, BFN. I started bleeding 2 day before the beta test. Guess what, the first beta result was slightly positive. The nurse had me do the test again two days later (day 16 after ER). It came out negative today. What a joke! The eggs were collected on my birthday. I though it would work this time.

Because I was pregnant, I cannot start next cycle right away. Like Bliss, I want to adjust my life style. Between my first BFN to now, I have reduced coffee and alcohol consumpation to almost zero and start doing exercise. The second cycle seemed better, at least for 10 days I was pregnant:)

IVF is really a furstration process. It is nice to have your support.

Thank you, carrie

Welcome new members!
I am so sorry to hear about your BFN, but know that everyone in this thread understands your disappointment and frustration. Feel free to vent at any time. I found this site to be extremely helpful after receiving my 2nd BFN. No one truly understands the emotions and stress that are encountered through fertility treatment and it has been nice to connect with women who know exactly what it is like.

I wish you all well as you continue your adventure it fertility treatment,

Hey ladies. I have not recently been through a bfn, but I just wanted to give some encouragement. We went through 6 cycles and three miscarriages before having our little voting March. I was really close to giving up, and I love to share my story. One day all the heartache will be a distant memory, don't give up!

If your looking for a good fertility health plan, check out the link in my signature. I plan on trying it for #2.

Good luck and I'm sorry for your negative cycles.
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!

DJ-BJ: That is super! Did you visit the website for betas? You have a doubling time of only 24 hours. No need to worry about high beta. My understanding is that the high betas indicate that the pregnancy is likely strong and healthy. Again, possibly multiples.

The website is working today:

Congratulations! When do you get to go for an u/s?

DJ - BD you are so very pregnant!!!

All- I am doing much better today. This last BFN was really tough on me, more than my first. I just had a good feeling about this one and have been in a really deep funk until today. I'm moving into the next phase and taking control of my outlook! I went for a short/easy run, meditated, and journaled today. It felt good after a few days of laying around and feeling sorry for myself. Then I took inventory of all my leftover drugs and wrote out a list of about 20 questions for my RE. I'm not giving up...infertility can be overcome...and I am going to kick it's tail! :D

How is everyone else doing?
