Hey Rio-
I was pregnant naturally (miracle since my tubes are severely damaged) but miscarried. I was actually at the beginning of suppression injections when I found out about the pregnancy :O !

I took a long break, and am now on a weight loss mission. Doing Atkins for fast (hopefully) results. Going pretty well so far.

So yeah, hopefully will start IVF within the next few months, unless we have a natural miracle before then.

Hugs and PMA!!!!

I am now still in the course of my second attempt due to a uncertain pregancy. My second time was much easier than the first time because I knew the procedure and what to expect. My problem is now when to start the third time if the 2nd time proves failed.

Rio- Hahahha! Was cracking up when I read your post! Yes, recent studies show that sex is linked to pregnancy ; it's rare though, usually only drunk teens succeed with this method

Anyway, hope you are treating yourself to some retail therapy and relaxation... when is your US anyhow? I look forward to hearing good news :)

Happy Thanksgiving to all you love ladies! May we all have baby blessings to be thankful for sooooon

riogir,
My hcg level was lower than positive pregnancy. The nurse wanted me to have blood test again. I will have more information this afternoon. Personally, I am not so optimistic. Having heavy bleeding during post ET day 11, 12 and 13, it would be a miracle if the pregnancy is positive. Though, I'm still hoping it is.

hi all.

shari- maybe we'll cycle together in the new year!? i'm likely to cycle in march. i can't wait.. the waiting is driving me somewhat nuts too.. i'll be so happy to cycle with some other women who also already have a child.. i feel guilty complaining about wanting a second to women who haven't been yet blessed with their first.

kerri. i'm so sorry you're in beta hell. i just had a chemical pregnancy myself... it sucked.

so, i feel like a broken record, but once again, i'm just struggling. my pregnant friends are an awful reminder of what seems remotely possible for me... i hate this feeling. i feel defective. the expense is stressful.. the possibility it won't work is stressful.. and while i was eating a piece of cake yesterday a coworker asked me 'are you pregnant again'? ...innocent question, since he doesn't know my struggles, but i wanted to throttle him.. i can't seem to answer that question nicely, or without spilling my guts..

anyways, i hope you all are having a great day! rio- i can't wait for your u/s results!!

It is BFN. I have to rest for two month before the next attempt because I was pregnant for 10 day. What a joke. I don't know what I have done wrong to lost the sticked embryo(s) :(

So, the second attempt is easier but the second BFN feels worse than the 1st one.

hi kerri... it is VERY unlikely you did anything wrong. early miscarriages happen all the time.. to ALL women, not just IVF women. it's just 'nature taking care of itself'..

women not doing IVF probably get chemicals all the time,, the just only notice them as a 'late' period.

big hugs to you.. this is tough.

Kerri - I am so sorry and please don't think you did anything wrong. Best of luck and I hope your next cycle is your lucky one.

Karen - I completely understand you. When I had my ectopic and beta hell I was devastated even though I had my little guy. You go through so much phisically (I always get in a lot of pain after ER), financially (we are all out of pocket) and emotionally. I was so angry because I had co workers and people around me getting pregnant, one woman even got pregnant a month after miscarrying, like it was nothing. Even people who didn't plan on gettting pregnant were getting pregnant, I cried a lot. This is just not fair, and now I am happy I got a BFP but I am so scared because if I m/c we would have to go through all this again and not only do I not know if we can afford it again, I don;t know if I can phisically do it, this OHSS kicked my butt. So I am terrified, I feel blessed with my son but I desperately want another. Like you, I never have frosties and don't make that many eggs, so for us it is even more of a one shot thing if you know what I mean. I completely understand you and you are in my prayers for a BFP, I know waiting until March is really hard and days drag by. We had to wait 6 mos after our ectopic and it could not go by any slower. Vent here anytime, I totally get you my friend!

oh rio <3 .. i just love you! thank you so much .. it's so wonderful to connect with mama's trying for babe #2 also .. i know that you 'get' me, and for that i'm incredibly grateful. i am SO happy you're pg and you are totally in my prayers for a successful pregnancy. i remember every 'wait' after the 2WW, lol... and i vaguely remember the days when i thought "once i'm pregnant...i'll never worry again".. HAH.

kerrie- i REALLY encourage you to talk to your dr's about your miscarriage so that you can hear from them if your body/ hormones had anything to do with it.. and i'm saying this, cause i really believe that they DON"T have any relationship to your m/c, and i think it'd alleviate any guilt you're feeling. gawd, i remember after our 1st m/c my MIL said to me "so did your hormones do this?".... i nearly f&**ing killed her. there's a lot of misconceptions about m/c.

if there was anything structurally wrong with you - that could jeapordize you carrying a pregnancy, your RE"s probably would have already known it and warned you ahead of time.. this would have been found on a hysteroscopy which is pretty standard before IVF. the only thing they DON"T know ahead of time is if a person has an "incompetent cervix" (what a horrid name), but if you DID have that- it woulnd't matter that early.. those women miscarry late- like 16-22 weeks along. ugh, wouldn't that be so awful.

Kerri-
I will tell you what my doctor told me when I miscarried... you did NOTHING wrong. He explained that miscarriage usually happens because something was wrong with the fetus, so nature took its course... It's so painful, I know. I hope you take time to heal physically and emotionally. Be strong and feel better!

Karen-
We might just cycle together! We seem to be on the same timeline... hope we will also 'BFP' and ' be pregnant' together  . Let's think sticky embie thoughts in the meantime :D

Rio-
Remind me what OHSS is? I seem to remember that it's something painful, so hope you feel better soon. I remember during my 2ww for 1st US, I did visualization... kind of like meditating with eyes closed, and imagining the embi(es) sticking tight, sleeping comfortably, and breathing inside my uterus. It helped to calm me, and I figured, can't hurt! Hope 12/2 comes soon :D

Kerri... I'm so sorry for your BFN. I agree with the other ladies, you did nothing wrong. I wish this IVF thing was as easy as all good embryos implanting. Who knows why it works in some cases and why it doesn't in other cases. It's just not fair, is it?

AFM... my beta is on Tuesday and I'm debating on doing a HPT. I did with my fresh IVF cycle. We had two 5-day embryos transferred and I took the HPT a day before and got positive. I know fresh cycles have a higher HCG level and HPT will detect it better. If I don't do an HPT, then I'll have to get a call during work. I teach 7th grade and don't know how I will be able to teach or function if I don't receive the news I want to hear. I only had one embryo transferred so maybe an HPT would be no good anyway because the HCG level will be too low anyway. What did you girls do?? Any advice?

Well, I had a HPT that expired September 2010 and decided to use it. I didn't tell DH. It's negative. I'm really sad. No tears... yet. I know it may be faulty because it is expired but it's not that old. I'm pretty sure it's a valid reading. I don't want to tell DH because I know he'll be sad and upset I did it because I told him I wouldn't. I just had to prepare myself for the call this afternoon. I haven't gone in for my test yet. I will in an hour but I couldn't wait any longer. I had a bad feeling lately that it wasn't going to work. It was such a long shot. Still trying to absorb it all....
