Hey Ladies!

Just wanted to pop in and wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! I know its not happy for some being
minus a very special small person or persons. I know its going to be hard during the holidays going to events
and being minus one, or more. Its not easy and Im going through it myself. My cousin had an "accident" with a man she just met and is pregnant with her first baby, she's just 20 and has just gotten out of college and works a minimum wage job with no insurance benefits. She had a baby shower and nobody showed up so she received nothing. So my mother called and asked if I wanted to donate some of Aimee's things to her baby girl. Well its been 6 months this weekend since Aimee died and I already went through her nursery and put all her personal and important things in a chest/bench that my husband and I painted. So my husband and I packed up our truck full of basically a nursery in a box and delivered it to her last night. I was ok packing it and unpacking it but as we drove away it just broke my heart letting all of it go. I know its just stuff and I can afford to replace it but it was meant for Aimee. My husband said that Aimee would be ok with it and that we would start fresh when we got pregnant again. Im trying to stay positive because Im only on day 4 of my 10 days of Prometrium, still waiting for AF.

Sorry I just needed to vent. I just miss her! I feel like Ive had this fake smile plastered on my face all day.
I hope you all had a blessed day with your family and friends! Good luck with all that are having things done today and this weekend. Lots and Lots of baby dust sent your way! ~~~~~Heather~~~~~

Lou: Glad that DH’s surgery went well. Sorry about your blocked tube, but better to know and be able to plan. If it works better to have the laparotomy now before the end of the year then I’d recommend going ahead with it. Regarding DHEA, I’m sorry, but I am like Rio--I didn’t do it under doctor’s care, so I never had my levels checked either. Try to stay positive...this will work for you! And yes, I am a POAS maniac! I have tested out my trigger and am going to be testing like a nut! :-)

ChelleDe/Michelle: Sorry to hear about the insurance companies...they are weird and often inconsistent. I was told I had maxed out all my fertility benefits so we turned to IUI with injectibles. But, they seem to be covering all my SnS visits--I don’t even pay a co-pay?! Who knows...I am not asking why because I don’t want them to examine and then stop paying or make me pay back for those visits. Best of luck with you and your visit on Monday. I really hope you are suppressed and ready to go! (PS- I like your picture!)

Baby_blu/Stephanie:Congratulations on graduating!

Here is a website with information...they quote that almost half of all twin deliveries are able to be vaginal. Obviously you are more at risk for C-section than with a singleton, but I would think you should be able to plan for vaginal unless there are safety reasons to preclude it. Have you looked into an OB practice with a nurse-midwife? Or doula? They also talk about breastfeeding twins. I would also check with la leche league--I found a forum they have specifically for breast feeding multiples. You can DEFINITELY breast feed twins and it is the best thing for them. You will show them!!

Kbillsy: Good luck with SnS tomorrow morning. Sorry about the bruises...one of the side effects of this lovely process: Having a “junkie” belly.

Karin: Hope that you have a great Thanksgiving with your family...no worries about not feeling anything. Seems like most BFP don’t--even after getting BFP! Stay strong!

Jennieswa: So sorry. That is very sad, but sounds like you are keeping your chin up and with 3 frosties I think you will be very set and pregnant before you know it in the new year!

Amanda: Congratulations on hearing a heartbeat. I am so, so happy for you!! Appt next week with OBGYN on Wed--so exciting. You will be graduated soon for sure! Stuff your face--you are eating for 2! and enjoy the day!

Image

Ester: Keep up the PMA!! Symptoms are so confusing...but I am hoping that it will be a BFP for you! Just a few more days!
Image
Lauren: Glad to hear from you again. Glad that acupuncture went well. When is your follow-up appt? Keep up the PMA!

Karian: Praying for a great rise for you on Saturday!

Tammy: Sounds like things are going great this cycle. I hope that you have a nice Thanksgiving dinner and good luck with SnS on Saturday. I am sending prayers for your friend’s son. How very scary.

Leora: I am hoping for the best for you with this FET, despite your lack of positive experience with them. I really think it would be a great thing for you this month coming with all the negative “anniversaries” you have coming.

Heather: So very sorry that this is an especially difficult time. That was a very generous thing that you and DH did. Praying for peace of heart for you.

Karen: Whoohoo!! Couldn't have asked for a better rise!! Congratulations!!

AFM: Thankful for all that I have...and keeping up the PMA as I wait for my turn for BFP! :D

lou71 wrote: Nancy - I understand your decision. Is your frozen a blast? Blast FET's can have great success rates.

AFM- Dh's procedure went well. We'll know in a few months how well. My HSG showed a blocked right tube. I'm tentatively scheduled for a laparotomy dec 12th. I'm really upset about this. If my next ivf works then I don't really need the surgery... But if we have to try on our own for a while, then i want the best chances. I would wait til after my next cycle but doing it before the end of the year saves thousands as my insurance is changing for the worst.. Ugh, what should I do? Other than that, my birthday is sunday. ****. I thought I'd be pregnant by now. So sad right now.
Lou,

So sorry to hear about your blocked tube. That totally stinks. On the other hand, I'm glad you know now -- it still totally stinks though!!!!!!

Yes, my frostie is a blast. Uggghh such a hard decision. My dh really needs to have rotator cuff surgery the first part of the year. I suggested to him today that we go on with the FET (we are going to do the FET at some point anyway so we either spend that $$ now or later, you know) Of course, I pray we that would be our BFP but you never know. If it's not a BFP, then we re-group and decide after that what to do and in the mean time, he can have his surgery. An FET doesn't put me out of it like a fresh cycle does (no lifting over 10lbs from the time I start stims, then the ER then ET etc..) Y'all well know all that is involved so not sure why I'm typing it all out. My point was I would be better able to help out where needed while he's out of it for surgery and recovery if we do an FET first.

Really his only objection to that is that if the FET is negative and we choose to do another fresh cycle that we need to do my fresh cycle now to get eggs harvested NOW. I didn't really think a few months (Jan vs April or May) would make that huge of a difference in eggs. My birthday is in October and I'll be 40 then. What are y'all's thoughts on that? Will 4 to 5 months make such a huge difference on eggs that that should be a factor in our decision?

I hope everyone has had a nice Thanksgiving. I have a very pregnant sil so it was a bit hard with that but otherwise, it was very nice.

Lou - My birthday is tomorrow - 36 - and my 3rd anniversary was the 17th. I thought I would be pregnant also. It sucks!!
Glad Dhs surgery went well!

Tammy - my AF was so ridiculous last night and today still. TMI - huge clots every 30 minutes. I had to get up like ten times during the night. Change pants and underwear...sleep with towel under me etc. At 3:30 I put a super tampon in and a giant pad. Woke at 530 to everything overflowing. RE had me start doing vaginal estrace yesterday. I spoke with the on call RE today and she told me to do another today and then two more tonight! She said she will call me tomorrow to see how it is. I have had some very bad bleeding this year with 4 IVF cycles and 2 D&Cs but this takes the cake. She did say this should not affect my cycle so that's good. I really hope it works for both of us this time.

Sonya - I am so happy for you! I have followed your story and I know you must be thrilled!

AFM - s&s Wed showed low E2, not surprising, and nothing regarding follicles. I stim so slow that they never see anything at 1st US so I am not worried. I go back on Saturday.

I have to say that I feel so sorry for your niece... it's a shame that people around her think her baby is no less important or amazing or will be less loved or taken care of because of her age and situation... poor girl! At least she is having the baby and didn't get an abortion. And for you... what a wonderful, amazing gift you gave her..... you are an amazing person and obviously a woman of great strength. I'm sorry it was a tough day - but I'm inspired by your actions.

Karen - CONGRATS on the super fabulous 2nd beta!!!    When's your first u/s?

Heather - I can't even image the pain and heartbreak you're going through... I think you did such a wonderful, amazing thing for your cousin AND yourself. To help her out when no one else cares... brought tears to my eyes. I just know what you did for her is something that she'll never forget. I'm sure your DH is right, your daughter wouldn't have had it any other way, either. I pray for you to find comfort in all of this, and for your heart to heal. Thank you for sharing your story.

Margi - Thanks for the links! I'm gonna check them out as soon as I finish posting. :D

Tammy - I kept your friend and her baby in my prayers today. I don't understand why things like this happen to the innocent... Please keep us updated.

Hope everyone ate their share of the food, and then some. I know I did! Goodnight everyone! Lots of prayers and babydust for all!

CONGRATS KAREN ON YOUR NUMBERS!!!!!

Thanks everybody for all your kind words! They are greatly appreciated! Made me feel better!

I need some advice, the numbers that my Doctor went over with me on Monday have me perplexed.
Im 37 with pcos, type 2 diabetes, one frosty a 5 day blast grade 4 AB
DH is 42 with low count. For the last 10 years his 5 or 6 semen tests have been 11 million and under. We had one IUI in 2008 that was positive but because I went undiagnosed with Diabetes I miscarried at 11 weeks. Then decided to do IVF and now just left with the one blast. When I went for baselines last month, we also did a repeat semen test to check to see where DH was after a big weight loss, stopping tobacco and no alcoholic beverages the last 2 years. Well to our shock it came back 63 million. So my doctor said we could do IUI and probably be successful again. So I guess what I want to know is if thawing one blast has a 70% chance of survival and because of my age and only 1 blast I have a 30% chance of getting pregnant, why would I transfer the blast if I have a better percentage with IUI then the FET? UGH!! What would you do?

Re: Fall 2010 Cycle Group

Post by Karian »

Happy thanksgiving to everyone!!! (better late than never!).

My next blood test is tomorrow, but I already know what the result will be. This is harder than what I thought. HPT after HPT says the same, only one line. :( but I guess Im still waiting for the definitive negative.

Why is it so hard to get the elusive second line?... Is it too much to ask?...

For the last 4 years I've kept track of every time I got my AF. Every month I've thought this is the one!. It took a lot of effort to finally realize it was not going to happen the regular way and we decided to embark in the IVF program. We decided to go straight to IVF since it has the highest probabilities of all the available treatments and our insurance covers only 10K in a lifetime. My husband passed all the tests with flying colors and so did I. I thought what could go wrong?... We just need a little bit of help and we should be pregnant before christmas.

I was so wrong! this is a lot harder than what I thought it was going to be... I feel broken... there is something wrong with me and no one can tell me what it is. My family has been very supportive but none of them knows what it feels...

I'm grateful for this incredible group of women that have been supporting me and cheering me all the way!. I feel blessed to have found you!

I'm sorry if i'm down today, but I just wanted to express what i'm feeling. I know I wont have the strength to write tomorrow, but I will let you know after I get "the call" (which I'm not looking forward to). We will keep praying and trying the regular way, but I won't be able to do another IVF round for now.

Thanks for listening!... Love you All!

Heather,
I totally understand the decision before you! I, too, just have one frostie. Mine is a blast. My RE said it's a very good grade B -- not quite an A but a "high B" LOL I got the exact same percentages as you on thaw and pregnancy. Unlike you though, IUI is not an option for us. RE recommends us do it ASAP and hopefully get more frosties from that. Obviously we would hope to get pregnant w/ the fresh embryos and have frosties too but we'll see what happens.

Anyway, I'm no help at all but just wanted you to know that I totally understand.
