We couldn't stay on it long enough to get a measurement but the RE said it sounded nice and fast. That baby's CRL measured 6w2d and we're 6w6d but RE wasn't concerned about that.

The 2nd sac though has not progressed at all. It is a lot smaller than A and has no evidence of a fetus at all so they think that one's eventually just going to be reabsorbed. Sad that the second one is most likely not going to make it but having a singleton would be a lot less risky with my questionable cervix. So we're taking it as "everything happens for a reason".

Next Wednesday I have an appt in the a.m. to meet a new OB/GYN and then another 7:45pm appt with the RE so we'll get more peeks at the little one next week.
Klinger I was only just now able to check the boards. I'm so happy you got a heartbeat!!! I'm sorry that the other sac was not promising... how awesome that you have such reassuring news - does it make it all that much more real? I hear you on the risk factor.... I would love twins but it would be double the worry as well. For you it would be very stressful...however... no matter what happens you would be amazing - one or two babies! Huge congrats... the late night appointments are a bit of a bummer, though!! Can't wait for a heart rate and report next week. YAYYYYY!!!
Thanks so much Sonya! Yeah, we were sad to see the second sac so small and empty but we both know deep down that maybe it's the universe's way of making sure we come out of this with one healthy baby. And yes, seeing that heartbeat really does make it more real! :D I mean I know we're never completely out of the woods, but I just feel like I can definitely breathe a little easier tonight. We saw that beautiful fluttering on the screen, it sounded nice and fast, and wow it just bolstered my PMA a ton.

I'm still a bit wary about the next ultrasound... I figure this trend will continue for about the next 7 months. :)

blairwh58 wrote:Hey guys- I know its still early for me but I thought I would hop on over here and say hello. I am still nervous that something may happen but since I have no reason to believe anything is wrong I need to stay positive. I have checked in a couple times to read the posts but never said anything. I just had my first beta last friday and it was 317 at 11dp5dt, then I had the 2nd beta yesterday and it came back at 944 (14dp5dt). So I go for my first ultrasound Friday Dec 3. Dont have too much going on- sore boobs, get full really fast and then a little nauseated after...but nothing too bad. I will keep popping in but it sounds like everyone is a little further along. I think my estimated due date is July 27...but the RE hasnt mentioned it yet. Excited to be here finally and cant wait to share it with you all.
That's AWESOME news Blair! Enormous congrats to you!

Hi, thanks and Klinger sorry to hear you are in the same boat but it you are nature has a way of making everything right. I just hope the embie gets reabsorbed easily if its not healthy. I'm excited about the other embie but also feel bad for being happy about it, just a little. Welll, I will know more next u/s so we shall see.

I can't believe that Christmas is 24 days away and I haven't even begun to shop. I'm just not feeling it this year so far. It might be because of all of this stuff going on or I might just be dealing with some holiday blues or these pregnancy hormones but I find that I'm very irriable and have no patience for anything. Plus I was so looking forward to these days off and I feel like I accompished nothing and am dreading going back to work. Ugh, can't seem to find that happy feeling.

Hugs and I hope you have a good weekend.

I know what you mean about christmas... seems the getting pregnant and staying pregnant through the first trimester has been way more important than anything else... I'm so tired....it's hard to find time to eat and even my evening bath (RITUAL) is often overlooked because I am simply too tired. I've been working 5/6 days a week so I'm exceptionally tired!

I've had what seems like a pre-menstrual bloat since mid cycle IVF; so far, it hasn't gotten any bigger or smaller.

klinger- congrats on one healthy heart beat. I know you must be feeling mixed emotions of sad and happiness since the other one doesn't look as good right now. I can tell you as a former twin mom-to-be, a twin pregnancy is stressful. I guess it was worse for me b/c I found out I had an incompetent cervix...so my cervix couldn't handle it. Most of the twin mommas on my previous pregnant after treatment board had complications of some sort. Of course that doesn't mean some don't breeze right through it like it is nothing. B/c of all of this, I only transferred one embie this time. So rejoice in your one healthy beautiful baby. So happy for you! xoxo

Hi Karen, thank you so much and we'll definitely rejoice in our one little one! Incompetent cervix is exactly what we were worried about when we found out there were 2 sacs. We're still worried about it of course, but we were doubly worried when pregnant with twins. I've had laser surgery, 2 LEEPS, and a cone biopsy on my cervix over the years and we just don't know how the cervix is going to hold up while pregnant. It may require cerclage, bedrest, or it might hold up just fine - it's anyone's guess at this point. I haven't been released from the RE yet, but I was able to get in to see a new OB/GYN Wednesday a.m. and we'll see what approach they think we should take with it.

I'm so glad you've got your TAC in place this time and one beautiful embie growing away in there! Can't wait to see your first u/s pics!
