Hi Everyone,

I figured I'd jump over to this board as there is nothing going on with the twin board, congratulations to all of you on your BFP's. We are expecting twins on 6/23/10. I'm sure they'll arrive a little earlier as my last 2 were born at 36 and 37 weeks. I have had a really scary week, woke up last Tuesday to a huge bleeding episode, my husband dialed 911 as there was blood from the top of my pants to my ankles. I was so absolutely terrified, went to the ER had an u/s and still had 2 heartbeats, thank god! They said I have a subchorionic hemmorage, which is not uncommon(I just wish it wasn't so scary!). After some IV fluids and monitoring I was sent home on bed rest. Went to my OB the following day and still heard two hb's. I have been cautiously optimistic as I am still spotting and having some cramping. We are just praying that our twins will survive this episode.

Gina- Congrats on your twins!!! It's going to be so fun! I'm sorry to hear about your SCH. My last pregnancy was twins (fraternal) and I had this. Actually had 4 episodes of it...one that really scared me like yours. All occurred between 6.5-10 weeks. In most cases it resolves itself. I don't know why, but it seems that mine happened at night each time. It seems so much worse than it was (in the amount of bleeding) b/c it had pooled in my vagina since I was laying down. And when I stood up...a heavy flow came out. But it in fact was not flowing heavy, it just seemed that way. Each time mine went away completely after a few days...with the red bleeding going away within 12 hours. Then it was just brown old looking blood/spotting. So I hope this gives you some relief. My pregancy was healthy except that my cervix was weak (didnt know it until I was pregnant). You are doing the right thing by resting as much as you can. Hang in there! :)

I can tell you as a former twin mom-to-be, a twin pregnancy is stressful. I guess it was worse for me b/c I found out I had an incompetent cervix...so my cervix couldn't handle it. Most of the twin mommas on my previous pregnant after treatment board had complications of some sort. Of course that doesn't mean some don't breeze right through it like it is nothing. B/c of all of this, I only transferred one embie this time. So rejoice in your one healthy beautiful baby. So happy for you! xoxo

Hi Karen, thank you so much and we'll definitely rejoice in our one little one! Incompetent cervix is exactly what we were worried about when we found out there were 2 sacs. We're still worried about it of course, but we were doubly worried when pregnant with twins. I've had laser surgery, 2 LEEPS, and a cone biopsy on my cervix over the years and we just don't know how the cervix is going to hold up while pregnant. It may require cerclage, bedrest, or it might hold up just fine - it's anyone's guess at this point. I haven't been released from the RE yet, but I was able to get in to see a new OB/GYN Wednesday a.m. and we'll see what approach they think we should take with it.

I'm sending you a PM about this...

I'm so glad you've got your TAC in place this time and one beautiful embie growing away in there! Can't wait to see your first u/s pics!

Gina welcome to the summer thread - I'm so excited to hear from you! I can't imagine how scary bleeding would be. I know that the progesterone supps I'm on cause me to be (or something is) to have a lot of watery discharge and I get freaked out a couple times a day because things feel pretty moist down there.

I am glad you got everything confirmed on ultrasound - what a relief... how many embies did you have transferred? Is this your first pregnancy?

Karen - Thank you so much for the PMs!! I'll keep you posted on all of that!

Gina - Welcome to the group! Sorry you've had to deal with the scare of a SCH but I'm glad the babies are doing well! Hopefully the SCH will resolve itself soon and you can enjoy your pregnancy with a little less worry. (There's always some worry, isn't there?) :)

karenthescorpio- Isnt your US coming up soon?? I know we were pretty close in date on the Nov Cycle Buddies Board and cant wait to see pictures from the first US. When would your due date be?

Gina- Congrats on twins. Sorry to hear about the SCH but glad to know things are still looking good. Keep us posted.

klinger- Sorry to hear that one of them wasnt doing as well but its great news you have one healthy heartbeat. Ive had the LEEP/Cone and am hoping that it doesnt affect the competency of my cervix with pregnancy. I guess we will just have to wait and see how things play out. I will obviously do whatever it takes to make it work though- cerclage, bnedrest etc.

happy bunny- What a great picture of your little one. Soooo exciting to see how much they grow in just a couple of weeks. And congrats on graduating. Im not sure how long the RE plans to hold onto me, but since they are more hands on I think I will probably feel neglected once I switch to the regular OB.

Dandme- I know what you mean about the waiting feeling like a lifetime. Since we havent had our first US yet I am still so scared and nervous any time I feel the slightest cramp or twinge. I think just seeing something on the screen will help. Cant wait to see what your little one looks like on Wednesday.

AFM- Nothing new to report. Extremely sore boobs and I constantly feel full after a few bites. So anxious to see the US and know that everything is ok. At this point I am still scared that something will happen. Debated on taking more tests at home but realized by beta levels were high enough that even if something happened it would still show positive. Oh the anxiety associated with all this waiting. When do they usually schedule the 2nd US? My first one is friday and I think I would be 6wk3d, hoping to get another in before christmas.

Hey ladies! Just dropping by to check up on my fellow preggos!

Waiting to hear back from OB/GYN department... we've graduated from RE but haven't picked an OB yet. So, it was weird calling someone to ask a question, but not knowing who to ask for...

I'm need to know when I can resume normal "activities" after being put on pelvic rest after the SCH bleeding. No one said anything except that the clots were breaking up and I could see they were much different looking than when we first saw them. Then they sent me on my way. Maybe it's the pregnancy or maybe it's the fact it's been FOREVER but I woke up from an exceptionally vivid dream this morning and decided it's time to call somebody regarding this "situation". Waiting for the call to be returned.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what I should expect to hear from the nurse... I don't wanna get my hopes up. It's been 3 weeks since my bleed.

Sorry if this entire post was TMI... I'm sort of dwelling on this and thought it was worth a shot to ask.

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for all of the well wishes! Bleeding is getting better, we were told it could last up to 2 weeks. I have been having alot of pain in my lower abdomen, not really cramps, just pain. I'm hoping it's just stretching from the babies growing. I asked my neighbor who had twins and she says it's a good possibility. We have our Nuchal Scan next Wednesday, can't wait to see how the little ones are doing. My belly is definitely growing although I lost 5 pounds over the last week from all of the stress. I feel like there's so much to do with the holidays coming so soon, I've done no shopping up until some online stuff today, at least my kids will get a few gifts if I don't make it to the stores. :)

DandMe: We transferred 2, lost one, then the other split. So we're having identical twins. This is my 4th pregnancy and I have 3 children 17, 10 and 7. We wanted more but were unable to for 7 years. So now we are just waiting for our little blessings. :)

I hope you all have a great week!

Blair; I know what it's like to wait... trust me.. it's a bit easier after the first ultrasound but even the second is pretty freaky. I feel pretty good most of the time which I loath, until I feel really tired and crappy and then I want to feel good again. LOL You are right, though, seeing that heartbeat on the screen will make a world of difference. I know you're scared, but you wouldn't be normal if you weren't. All you can do is distract yourself and wait it out. I think you will be delighted on Friday - take your time, ask your questions and most of all, get a photo so you can show off your little 'worm'! I think all clinics are different, I was actually surprised to get another at 9 weeks. I think they want to make sure the placenta is developing so they can take me off the progesterone. I had my first one at 7w1d and my second will be at 9w1d. I'm so excited as to what the changes will be!

I'm not sure - and there's no such thing as TMI!! LOL

I know that I've had a few vivid dreams as well and well... I can't wait until the first trimester when I can relax a bit and have my body back. My DH and I kind of just take things really easy and know that for now, my body belongs to bebe until everything is totally fused and we are sure things are working. If you are still bleeding I'd be careful but there's nothing medically that I can think of to back me up! Waiting to see what the result of the callback is! :)

I'm so happy your bleeding is better! What a relief that must be. Is the pain when you move? If so I bet it's RLP... I've had it since before my BFP! I thought it was because I had twins, but it's just my uterus growing. I am also the same weight but my pants were a little snug today in the tummy. I'm a thigh/butt girl so having things tight in my tummy was ODD! Amazing story about your twins.... Identical twins from an ivf cycle... what are the odds. :) Good luck with the scan... I wonder if/when I should get mine??

DandMe: the nuchal fold scan is done between 11 and 13 weeks. My Maternal Fetal docs want me to do other testing for Downs Syndrome. I told them I'd rather not since we are keeping them no matter what. The nurse was not pleased with my answer. I guess they really wanted me to pay for the extra test.

I may also look for a new OB, I call and leave a message b/c I have a question and don't get a return call. Its kind of getting annoying. On the other hand my doctor delivers at a hospital with a level 3 NICU which would be great when the babies are delivered.
