I apologize for being MIA but I was at my sisters house for the holiday and did not bring my laptop. I see that there are tons of congratulations in order and I will try to catch up on personals, but there is a ton to catch up on!!

Ester - I'm so sorry that it didnt work out this time. I feel your pain and I'm hoping that you are doing ok.

Tammy - Thanks for thinking of me. Congrats on a great fert report and good luck on transfer day!

Karin - Awesome news!! How exciting!

Margi - Still praying for you girl! Keep your spirit up.

Congrats on the stimmers, the BFP's, the FET's, and the healthy ultrasounds! There are a ton of great news and it totally helps to read such great news. Its hard to stay down when there is proof that it works. :)

I haven't gone in for my official beta - it was moved to tomorrow because I was trying to get out of it. I started AF and have had negative hpt's since last Wednesday so I already know the result. However, they are making me come in as It is a requirement that they get the official results - won't even schedule a WTF appointment until I come in for it. So, I am mentally preparing myself for the I'm so sorry call. I love my nurses, but it would be great if they had good news once in a while. It's OK - no doubt it hurts, but I knew that it was a long shot with the ER/fert results the way they were.

So now, what to do??? I need some advice. I'm thinking that I should wait a month or two, try to lose some weight (I need to lose probably at least 20 lbs to be in the ideal range), get some acupuncture, and let my body get rid of some of these hormones. Oh, and maybe try this DHEA stuff that Rio pushes. What do you think is a good amount of time between fresh cycles? Better to wait it out a couple of months or jump right back in while your body is somewhat used to the hormones?

Also, do any of you have any healthy IVF weight loss tips? I know regular ones, but there seems to be quite a bit that us IVF girls can't/shouldn't do.

Cheri...Ugh, I am so so sorry. That really stinks that they are still making you come in for the beta, too. Hugs and prayers to you. No advice on weight loss tips specifically for IVF, but wishing you the best of luck. I personally, as you know, do cycles back to back since I am 42 and every month counts. Heck, in August we got 9 eggs, Sept 7 eggs, Oct 6 eggs, and in Nov 5 eggs...so no time to waste here at all. However, if I were younger...I'd take a few months off to lose a few pounds, do acupuncture, and dhea. Good Luck and dont be a stranger...stick around!

Ryann...Keeping you, your family, and your dad in my prayers tomorrow...please keep us posted as to when he gets out of surgery and everything. Will you be able to get online?

Heather....Woohooo!!! Awesome news! Glad my AF dancing worked for once! lol So what is your plan then?

Karin...Yes, we just did the PIO shot, oh lucky me. lol At my age...I was told that even with putting 4 or 5 embyros back that trips are un-heard of...twins are less than 5%, I think. I dont mind multiples...but that is easy for me to say...since the reality really isnt a reality for me. lol

Chelle...Hope you are having fun!

Rio...Thanks for the info...very interesting. 187 million is like WOWZERS...I even asked her again...did you say 187 million?! lol

AFM: So, get this...I am due for my mammogram on Dec 29th...so I called my doc today to see if there was any way possible to get one done now (yeah, fat chance, lol)...since it is close to a year and before transfer on Thursday. I lost my mom to breast cancer at 35...and my dad to cancer at 53...so I have been getting them done for years and am considered very high risk. She called my benefits and found out that as long as it is within 30 days before...which it is by 1 day, lol. So my doc called the mammogram place to see if they could fit me in and low and behold they have an opening that just came open for 2:30 tomorrow afternoon and Bill gets off at 2:00...so I will be there on time and not have to drag Zach with me either...and it is at a clinic that is only 5 minutes from here, too! Woohooo! Mind you appts usually take 3-4 weeks to get in. So, maybe the reason IVF hasnt worked these past few months was because I needed to get this done first, so that I can be pregnant, have a baby, and breastfeed and have no worries for the next 2 years. Talk about good timing, huh? :D

Cheri - sorry you have to go for official beta anyway :( Image They say the ideal BMI for IVF is under 25. So my first question is are you out of pocket or insured? If you are out of pocket you might want to consider paying for another cycle this year so you can deduct anything over 7.5% of your adjusted gross income from your taxes. With that said if finances are not an issue, I would take 3 to 4 months off. I would do acupuncture, DHEA 25mg 3x a day, COQ10 400 a day for you and DH, put DH on vitamins such as www.bluebonnet.com the men's health vits, no drinking for him for about a month, no tight undies, no spas. I would also give up all non fat and low fat dairy since those impact fertility negatively (google fertility diet on TImes). I would try to eat helathier, not drink and exercise (walks). I did those things in my 6 month break between my ectopic and fresh cycle and my eggs increased from a max of 7 to 14! My RE added Femara to an antagonist protocol for 5 days. Laso all my hormone tests, prolactin, FHS, TSH and Estradiol were much better than even 3 years ago! Hope this helps!

Heather - good thing the AF dance worked, I was getting dizzy!

Karin - I am with you I just want a healthy baby!!! :) and that's what we will get!

ChelleImage yeah what are you doing online?

Tammy awesome news on the appt! It is great to know all is well before all of this, sorry you lost your parents so young :( my dad died of cancer when I was 19, it is devastating. Yeah that was a crazy number of spermies!

Rio - yup - we do ICSI, but have never done AH. I'm not sure why. I've asked and the doctor said its irrelevant in my case. <shrug>

Karin - MF (or MFI) = Male Factor Infertility. Nothing wrong with me - just DH's sperm count is way too low (in the hundreds, not even the thousands! Most men have millions). Don't worry about botching my name! At work, when I talk to clients on the phone and they ask for my name - if I say "Leora" I always have to spell it (and explain it!). So I just say my name is "Laura" - much easier! :)

Lauren- Yeah for AF stopping! I hope they let you go ahead with the cycle. It's sooooo frustrating when unrelated matters start to affect the stupid IVF!

Krys - congrats on being PUPO! We will all go crazy together!

Heather - YAY! For me (I don't have to suppress before an FET), it's just starting oral estradiol tablets on CD1 or 2, weekly SnS, and then starting progesterone a few days before the transfer! easy-peasy. Good luck

Tammy - yeah! 4 embryos! I hope your friends son is doing well. So scary that even after they are born and healthy things can go wrong and hurt our babies.

AFM - officially 1dpo! Margi - I'm drinking whatever Kool-Aid you are selling! I keep thinking about when I can POAS, and I haven't even transferred yet! I had another accupuncture session today. I'm not sure how much I believe it will help, but it makes me feel better to be doing SOMETHING.

HAPPY HANUKKAH EVERYONE! :) Tonight is the first night

Krys - Congrats on being PUPO!! When will your beta be?

Tammy - Great fert report! Hope the embie report continues to be excellent and you can transfer all 4 tomorrow! And awesome news about getting in for the mammogram quickly to get that out of the way.

Cheri - I'm so sorry hun. UGH!! What a pain that you have to go in for an official beta. Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

Margi - Still hoping and praying for your BFP!

Amesy - How did your appointment & u/s go last Thursday??

Leora - Congrats for starting your 2ww! Only a few more days until your transfer, woo-hoo!!

kynlee - Hope your doc appointment goes well!

Heather - YAY for AF finally arriving!

Lauren1171 - Great job sending AF Heather's way...you've definitely had enough! Hope you're on the mend and can keep on moving through this cycle!

AFM, I've got lots of appointments the next 2 days. I meet a new OB/GYN in about an hour and then see the RE for u/s # 3 tonight. Then tomorrow I have an appointment with a MFM that's an expert on issues with the cervix so I'm really excited to see him to see what we might have to do to make sure this baby stays put until it's really ready to come out.

Amanda - not that I don't wish it were so - but I think you accidentally added Krys to the bottom of the BFP list instead of the PUPO list. Hopefully in a few weeks!

Just had S&S. 9 follicles on the right over 12. My left is always hidden so she saw only 1, but I am sure there are more. I really hope I am not cancelled! I have been eating iron foods and taking the pills. I am not freezing cold all the time, but I am still pale and out of breath if I walk down the hall. I don't see why I won't be better by the weekend though. I also hope ER is in Sunday so I don't miss work lol.

Amanda...Wow...you do have a very busy day! I hope you have a terrific day of ultrasounds and appts! I saw a MFM from the beginning with Zach and will again...if we ever get there.

Margi...Hoping and praying for good news soon! Keep up the PMA!

Karen...Just one more sleep!

Karin...Cant wait to hear all about your next beta tomorrow!

Leora...I can just feel your excitement as you get closer to transfer day...yayyy for technically being PUPO! lol So do you technically pronounce your name Lee-or-ah...cause that is how I say it in my mind. lol I really like your name. As far as AH...you probably just dont need it...if your embyros hatch on their own...why mess with a good thing. I plan to poas 11dpo at 5:30am before Bill leaves for work...so Friday, Dec 10th. You're what 1/2 a day ahead of me or something like that, right? It is 8:47am Wednesday here...so if I am just 1 day ahead of you in the 2ww...maybe we will be poas at the same time?! Kinda cool. lol  Happy Hanukkah Leora!

Heather...there are different protocols...but for me, I would have a baseline today (day 2) and start estrace...and have transfer in about 17 more days from today. If I remember correctly I also would take medrol, antibiotics, estrogen patches, and pio shots somewhere in there too. Call and try to get in for a baseline today or even tomorrow should be fine...if you want to get going right away. I think you are doing the right thing...bringing home your blast...errrr baby!

Lauren1171...Sounds like a great amount of follies growing! I am really excited that things are looking up for you now that AF has stopped and that you are starting to feel better, too. Keep us posted!

Ladybugg...How are things going? I saw your post on the Nov board. Hoping and praying for you (and them).

Kynlee...In the past we have done vitamins for fertility like L-Caratine, L-Arginine, Selenium, CoQ10, etc...but since we ran out...I just put him on what we had left in the cupboard...a multivitamin, Vit C, Vit E, Fish Oil, and Selenium. I hear the GNC's Mega Mens Vits are great for fertility. Glad your appt got moved up 1 day...let us know what they say. I'm sure with the holidays...6 weeks will fly by for you.

Ryann...Hugs and prayers coming your way continuously. Please keep us posted...and try try try to stay calm and happy through all of this.

Cshell...Good Luck on your SnS and trigger today.

Rio...It is rough...but I am doing everything to try to not worry about it happening to me and stick around for Zach, too. I've been doing regular mammograms for 10 yrs already...cause I was 14 when my mom died and 27 when my dad died (though he left and moved away when I was 7, so we only saw him few times over the years). My grandparents raised us/adopted us for less than a year when they both died within 1 year and 2 days of my mom...and so my 2 wonderful aunts took over raising us 3 kids. Zach calls them both Grandma now. No wonder my brothers and I have our fights once in awhile, but still try to stay close, huh? Bill lost both his parents and 2 brothers (they led rough lives) to heart disease...so he gets checked regularly for the heart and I get checked regularly for cancer. Poor Zach. I cant wait to hear how many you have in there tomorrow!

Cheri...Sending you more hugs today.

AFM: Just waiting on the phone to ring with our fert report and time to be there tomorrow. Ring phone ring! lol

ETA: Well, we have 4 embryos growing. 3 with no fragmentation and 1 with lots of fragmentation. I asked her to compare them to last months and Septembers...and she said they are better than last month and almost as good as the ones in Sept...even though Sept's was just different for alot of reasons and it is hard to compare them to Sept's...she said that these ones are somewhere in the middle of both months for quality. I got pregnant/miscarried in Sept...so was hoping that they were better than both Sept and Oct's. She said tomorrow will really tell the story. Last month they fell apart between now and transfer...so I'm really nervous now. Our transfer is at 2:45pm...and we are transferring all 4.

Sorry ladies I didn’t get to post yesterday…a lot of sex and sperm talk yesterday…my oh…my!

Krys: Congratulations on being PUPO! :D Sorry about your one embie that didn’t make the thaw. I know that even if you tell yourself it probably wasn’t going to be viable, it is still sad. You are human. Glad that you have 2 frosties left for siblings, though. Hope that you are taking it easy.

Lauren1171: So sorry you are still getting winded…I really hope you aren’t cancelled too. Are you worried about being too weak? Follies count sounds ok to me. And, I would recommend you take those softeners...the consequence isn't pleasant. Just my 2cents!

Karin1: Good luck on Thursday….we are all excited to see what numbers you get!

ChelleDe: Congrats on starting stims! It is exciting to be doing something when you have felt so helpless in the past. Hoping for a wonderful cycle for you…glad that you had a nice night ;-)

Heather: Yea! Finally the witch arrived.

Ryann: Lots of prayers for you and your dad today. Let us know when you can. Stay strong during this busy and important time.

Cheri: Sorry to hear that AF arrived. :( I guess procedures are procedures, but it does stink that they make you come in. (((HUGS))) I guess some women do bleed through a pregnancy, so they need to be certain. Regarding jumping in or waiting, I, like Tammy, am pushing the age thing, so no time to wait. But if you are young and have the time unless insurance or other factors make you want to hurry, I would take a few months and try some DHEA, lose weight, do some acupuncture, etc.

Kynlee: Glad to hear your PMA is up and strong and you are getting ready for next steps. Good luck with appt tomorrow with RE!

Leora: Happy Hannukah—tonight—well, it is later there isn’t it? I hear you on the name thing, people usually say “Margie” and write it that way. I’ve given up correcting anyone unless I am close to them or will be interacting regularly. 1dpo!! YIPEE!! Sorry for the crazy-juice! (not really) I would say, with a fair deal of certainty, that you might be a bit early to test yet. LOL. :P But I want you to test early, and test often!! Enjoy the acupuncture—it is so relaxing and it is “something” you can be doing.Image

Klinger/Amanda: Thanks for the well wishes. Not really feeling it, but I will know for certain tomorrow. Congrats on all the new appts. How’d it go with new OBGYN? How very exciting. :D

Tammy: Love the timing story! I agree…must be great timing for a great reason. I had an interesting “timing” story…I have recurrent UTIs and got one during my last IVF cycle. I went to see urologist two days after retrieval. He ordered an MRI (checking for stones) and asked if I could be pregnant. I said that depends on how you define “pregnant”. I have some embies growing at the moment, but they are not currently occupying my uterus. So—off I went to MRI! Technician of course asked the same question, “are you pregnant?” I told her no, 100% sure, but I will be tomorrow! She smiled and thought it was the coolest thing. She said she had never heard that before. I am excited for you...can’t wait to hear your fertility report either!

Tammy: So very sorry to hear about all of your loses. Yes, I bet that put a lot of stress on you and your sibs (to put it mildly). It probably also explains your strength and strong sense of self-advocacy. (Sorry for “2” posts to you. Wanted to separate the thoughts. I am not losing my mind—well, maybe a little, but that is irrelevant to this post.)

Rio: Thanks for being the research queen of the group yesterday! Very interesting information. Who knew all the information I would be learning…and love your cute smilies. You are still the queen! And just one more sleep before you get to see your bean!!! So excited for you!!

and Sonya: I suspect you are out there stalking...hope that you are feeling good and taking great care of yourself.

AFM: Thank you all for the support and well wishes. I am hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst. If I get a negative tomorrow--which is quite likely--I will really want to talk with RE about boosting up this next (and probably last) cycle...you ladies agree? I start right away, like probably Monday if not early--depending on AF. Tammy, you should be with me on this one--I am a year ahead of you. I just need one good (dinosaur) egg to drop...the more we have there waiting for DH's "SuperSperm" the better my chances. Right?

And with a lot of you ladies about to start the 2ww, stimming, ready for FETs....this is for all of you!

Tammy - wow. that is so sad about your parents and grandparents. I'll call my mom and give her an over-the-phone-hug right now. As for me - it's 6pm now! Wednesday is almost over and Thursday is almost here. My excitement is definitely going waaaay up. I hope I'm not super disappointed again...

My name is "Lee-oh-ra" - It means "my light" in Hebrew. Not a very common Jewish name (like Sarah or Rachel) but common enough that every religious Jew has heard of it. I like it too!

Knowing me, I'll probably POAS at 5dp5dt (and get a negative!) which will be Friday morning(Dec 10) here! I probably won't on Saturday but POAS again on Sunday 7dp5dt (Dec 12). Seems so soon and yet so far away!

I've already decided that I will lie to my clinic. My clinic doesnt do betas until 17dp"o" - which will be about Thurs Dec 16 (they are closed on Fri/Sat). I have *always* gotten the accurate answer from a HPT at 12dpo and 14dpo.... but if it's negative I spend the next few days obsessing over stories of women who have gotten BFN on HPTs but really been pregnant. But that's never me. So if I get a BFN at 12/13/14dpo, I'll call the clinic and say my period started and ask if I can get an early beta.... I just want it to be over ASAP. If I get a positive - I don't mind waiting for the beta! How weird is that? :)

Lauren- 9 follicles is great! I also realy hope they don't cancel.... that would suck. Fingers crossed for you!

Hi Girls

I promise I will try to catch up but this board is so busy and its a bit intimidating.

Leorira I love you name! and by the way I totally understand the whole "people can't spell it. My first name is Icee...yea no joke that is what my parents named me and Anna is my middle name. However only my friends and family call me Icee because I endured so many jokes for that name that on official docs it says Anna. I like my name though and I wish people didn't make fun of it. I always get asked if its a "stripper stage name" or a nickname or why did my parents name me that or even better if I am a cold person. Ugh some people never mature. Anyways I am so excited for your fet this weekend :D :D You are finally there!!! This is gonna be it for you I just know it. Any I am not Jewish but Happy Hanukkah to you too (my new brother in law is Jewish so we celebrate both Christian and Jewish holidays all together.

Ryan Same goes to you I am so excited that you are finally almost there. Keeping you in my prayers :)

Tammy you are so knowledgeable about all this stuff. I asked my RE what DH can do to improve our chances and he said "probably nothing" which stinks. I asked if not having beer and quitting smoking would help and again he said "probably not" So I will definitely try putting him on vitamins. I so wish he would take better care of himself but he works like 11 hours a day (programmer for a marketing department in his company) so he never works out or anything and I just feel like if he had the time it would help. Our only issue is his morphology is 10-11 percent so do you think the GNC viatamins would help? Do you have any other suggestions? Anyways good luck with the ET this week---sending you lots of baby dust :) Oh and by the way I can totally relate to the being careful issue. I had cancer 2 1/2 years ago (cervical- so short cervix and TAC) probably another reason why we have a hard time making a baby and so I have pap smears with my oncologist every 6 months...very stressful but cancer is all over my family so I try to stay on top of the tests.

Lauren1117 Good luck this week with the ER

Krys--YAY on being pupo and third time has got to be the charm!!! :) I think this is your 3rd transfer right?

For the preggers girls Rio, Amanda and Sonya congrats again and you girls continue to be an inspiration to me and because of your success I continue to believe that it will happen to us too.

Margi dear Positive PMA!!!! we have to stay positive as long as we can because positive thoughts create miracles :) I am right there with you. We saw RE yesterday and discussed all of our options and are feels that another fresh cycle would probably be all we need. However we need some time to save up money so our next IVF will probably be in late spring. As for now we decided that we would do iui's with Femera and Gonal F for a few months. A friend of mine who has been ttc for 5 years just got pregnant off of an iui with Femera and injectables and since DH and I have never tried this we figured doing something in the meantime is better than just sitting and waiting. Lastly before I left RE's office yesterday ( it was my cycle day 12) he did an ultrasound and I had a perfect follicle measuring 20mm and my lining was 13 and he said "hey why don't we try it this month even if it is completely unmedicated and so we triggered yesterday and will be doing our iui tomorrow morning. It is so interesting that my lining and everything was so perfect and in all previous iui's (3 of them) we always did clomid and my lining barely made it to 8 so I am a bit hopeful but I also realize that even if its not "it" we now have a plan. Ugh but I so wish it would work this cycle. I hate taking meds and it always looks like without meds my body works so well. Oh well I will do whatever it takes for us to get our little bundle of joy. So I will be joining in the madness of the 2ww as of tomorrow morning.
