Hi,
I have started IVF at age of 43. I met my husband later in life and now we both want to try IVF. My ovarian reserve was ok. So here we are with our first cycle. I also found out I have a blocked tube and it looks like there is some scarring there which I found out on the ultrasound test I had the other day. I have had my first ultrasound and blood test Friday. The news wasnt good with only 4 follicles and low oestrogen level of 258 on day 8 of tx. I am having the same tests done tomorrow. The nurse said that my tx maybe cancelled depending on the test results. So I am feeling terribly sad about it but have plan B which is donor eggs. Thats where I'm at.
I have a question what is normal levels of oestrogen at this stage?

Welcome!! I can't remember what the numbers are supposed to be at that point, but I think they are directly related to the number of follicles you have. It would make since that it is kind of low. Do they have a minimum number of follicles to be willing to do transfer? I know I had 6 one cycle and did transfer. We got pregnant from it, but had a miscarriage. If you do have to turn to donor eggs, you will love the baby just as much. We just had our first baby through embryo donation and it doesn't bother us at all that he is not from our genes.
