Scan today......UPdate

Post by helenlouise »

everythings great!

She didn't scan for very long, but took all the crucial measurements and when plotted both twins were very much in the middle of the 'average' charts. They are both head down and unlikely to turn over, so good possibility of a natural birth  and they weigh about 2lb12oz each which is great considering in theory i still have 11 weeks left to go. So all looks good and apart from hip and back ache in bed at night i am surprised at how good i feel.
I am finishing work this Friday, which is the earliest i could leave (29weeks) and will be putting my feet up a lot and making sure they stay put for as long as possible. Despite 'seeing' them today i still can't beleive we have 2 little people in there.....am amazed when i think of it!

Good luck Tracey for tomorrow and everyone else who is waiting for a scan.

helen & boys !!

Helen,

glad to hear everything is looking good. My clinic don't scan again after the 20wk one so I feel a bit left out!

I am surprised at how big and cumbersom and tired I feel, I thought it would only be in the later stages that I would feel knackered but the last couple of weeks I have felt exhausted.

I am not due to finish work for another 8 weeks but not sure if I will last that long. We get 26wks maternity leave in my job and I want to have as long off with the baby as possible.

Take care of yourself and your little chaps!

Love Julie (and her little chap!)
xx

PS Any names yet?

Helen

good news with your scan, its amazing what they can see and tell you isn't it. I really started to feel tired and aching after 30 weeks so think you are doing the right thing by finishing work and putting your feet up.

Take care

Helen,

Great news about the scan and the fact that your boys are head down - should make things easier. The weights sound quite similar to my two and they were a nice healthy weight (each just over 6lb) at birth.

I think you're wise to give up work. I gave up work at 28 weeks and the rest at home definitely helped me make it to my elective c-section at 39 weeks.

All the best.

Hi Helen,
Just to say I am delighted you had a good scan and that you are doing so well! I know what you mean about not believing it, I often wake up and forget I am pregnant (until my bladder reminds me that is) and only when I have scan or when they kick can I believe fully in the reality of it!
love,

Hi Helen

I am so glad your scan went great and fingers crossed for the natural birth. I have been busy shopping for the last two days and i am just getting caught up. My pram gets delivered on Tuesday and i am so excited. Only a couple of little thing left to buy, it seems so real now with all the baby stuff lying about. Nursery is finally started yesterday and hopefully the furniture will be here in three weeks.

Enjoy your maternity leave and rest, rest, rest not long now.
