Whew! I cant believe how flipping tired I am! How can someone so tiny have the house and everyone in it completely upside down? I finally got the Christmas tree up and icicles up outside, but how are you supposed to shop with a little one who wants your attention 24/7? I'll say it again - Bravo to all of you twin mamas and your energy! Anytime I tell Chris how wiped out I am, he says 'and you wanted twins, just think of how tired you'd be then"! Ummm, I hate when he's right, lol. So Ryan had his first blowout diaper today, for those of you who arent familiar with that term it means when the poop is EVERYWHERE - like up the back, seeping through the clothes, totally covering his genitals, going down his leg - ugh. And I caught it right when it happened too, can you imagine if that was during the night? The only way to clean him up was to get him in the tub right away, but I still worry about all the bacteria going up his urethra. So that was ummmm, fun? Oh, and guess what he's started doing? I have to get a picture of this, he makes a frownie face that looks exactly like an upside smile complete with his bottom lip pushed out. Where did he learn this one from? I see that face appearing later on in life when he wants something - haha. he's been smiling quite often and funny enough, he does it when its appropriate in a conversation - sometimes I just look at him and think - 'you do know what I'm saying dont you"? His sense of timing is something alright. Now if he'd only believe in napping sometimes... It seems that he's decided that the only place fun to nap is on our shoulders - so forget getting anything done, of course if he's been screaming after awhile its too easy to just give in and sit down until you can get him to fall asleep, but dont think of putting him down, or his eyes pop right open and you have to start over from the beginning, ah fun, yes? And the bouncy chair? umm, he still will only put up being in it for 10-15 minutes tops then wails til you get him out of it. I think that one of the best things that we got for him was like 14 dollars at walmart, its a projection toy with music, it projects a picture onto the ceiling (well theres only 2 pictures to choose from, but what do you expect for $14? ) but he is fascinated by it and will sleep in his crib while looking at it, so hooray for that. He's pretty fixated on the Christmas tree too, but that just reminds me that I'm super late and havent even started shopping yet - sigh. but really, who could think of shopping when sleep is a precious commodity in such short supply?
Hazel - Thanks. If Ryan gains control of hias hands by 7-8 weeks it wont be soon enough, he cries when they grab his face, eye, cheek, nose, but he also cries when you tuck him in tight and he cant get to his hands, it would be comical if it werent accompanied by wailing at the top of his lungs. Girl, I cant believe that you're brave enough to get on a plane with a newborn - you rock! tell us now Mum, how many bags did you end up having to bring?

So glad that your Mum will be staying with you all for awhile, she sounds so sweet and having everyone together will bring some much needed healing - much love xoxo
PA - Aw, honey, I love the pics, thanks for posting them! How great that you got to see her cute little face before getting to meet her. You definitely got lucky with her showing her face to the camera, I've heard of quite a few mommies to be that tried a few times and - nothing, I guess theres lots of camera shy babies out there.

aw, honey, what you're going through with your mom is just too much, you give her everything you can. I think that lifealert is a grand idea, hopefully that will cut out some of your worry. Now if only she would listen to the nurses/ aides and let them help her... I feel for you honey, you've got alot on your hands with her and being her only caregiver? its definitely like being between a rock and a hard place. On a high note, you've got like 11 weeks or so left! That little one will be the best Valentine's day gift ever! - xoxo
Angela - Ugh, honey I know the waiting is just awful, but thankfully it wont be too much longer now. Gabriella will be in your arms soon! the last 2 weeks or so of being pregnant for me was soooo slow feeling, like as if time werent moving at all - then when it does happen? its like time moves super fast, you'll see what I mean soon. I was told that if you're concerned about amniotic fliud or confused as to which is leaking - to smell it, no I'm not kidding, urine obviously smeels like ammonia but amniotic fliud is said to have a sweetish smell. Yes, bizarre I agree, but if its late and you dont want to call your on call, if it gives you peace of mind, then so be it, right? How are you faring weather wise? its been frigid here, but so far just flurries and nothing major - yet. try to relax and rest up as much as you can, you're so close now - xoxo
Gi - How are you and little ( ok, the not so little haha ) Kayla doing? I'll bet that by now you're staring at her sleeping in wonder that this perfect baby is yours and that she's finally here - enjoy her. ooh i love your new ticker too. I know the feeling, I thought that when Ryan's cord fell off that he looked more grown up too, crazy isnt it? Say hi to your Mam - xoxo
Steph - Argh!! You need to get some rest too! And if that means that Andrew has to lose some sleep sometimes, well thats part of a daddy's job. If mama isnt happy, then no ones happy, right? You have the sweetest neighbor ever, coming over to help you clean up the house as a surprise for you, theres just not enought people like that in the world these days. Well you've got my vote for best mom of the year, I just hate to hear that you're so exhausted and not getting the help that you need. I'll be right there with you this monday when Chris starts this horrible schedule that will mean he's gone for 18 hours a day til Chrismas eve - except that you've got double the babies wanting your attention. Note to Ethan & Angelina - Please hurry up and start sleeping through the night guys, your mama is wiped out! much love to you twin mama - xoxoxo
Claudia - aw honey, she is too precious! I'm glad that you're home and healing, but sorry that your labor was so long and painful! And to have gone through all that without a working epidural? Eeeeek! Thank God its over and you both are safe and healthy. I have to say that as scared as I was for that c section when I was still thinking that I was going to deliver vaginally I must have asked twice if they were sure that my epidural wasnt going to run out and they just kept saying of course not, then I her that yours did and get irritated, didnt they realize that you being in labor for 18 hrs meant that your lines should have been checked often? i'm sorry that happened to you, but little Madelyn makes it all worth it, I know. Good job mama! - xoxo
Babyluv - How's are other twin mama holding up? I cant imagine that you're getting any more sleep yet, but I can hope so, right? have you still got your parents there to help with Alex & Scarlett? You've got alot on your plate honey. but on the other hand, you've got 4 gorgeous children too! yes, its frigid here. like 22 degrees at night - brrrrr! and the days are only getting up to maybe 35-40, so its officially winter - ugh. I lived in Fl for a few years and GA, AL also, and boy do i miss the South, maybe not in the heat of August, but right now? YES! Ok, so try your best to get as much rest as you can they have to sleep through the night at some point right? although some nights I'm just convinced that Ryan is nocturnal - sigh - much love twin mama - xoxo
Karen, Sonya, Natasha, Franca,Jamila, Ronda, Lou - i'm thinking of you all and hope that you're all doing well, but I cant keep my eyes open anymore so dont be offended that I grouped you all together - I'm sorry but I'm sooooo tired! - hugs & prayers to us all - xoxoxo
