I NEVER get anymore than 8 eggs...6 being mature...and i've done over 6 fresh cycles! um...but most of my mature eggs end up being 5 day blastocysts...so yeah even though i get less eggs...they are of good quality. Seems like you're the same as me!!

So looks like you are doing a 3 day transfer???

Yeah im hopeful for maybe 4 eggs....like i said, i never get anymore than 6 mature eggs...but always get 3/4 blastocysts. All i need for this cycle is 2 blastocysts...so im feeling ok as long as i get my 4 mature eggs tomorrow...fingers crossed. We are also transferring 2 embryos, but 5 day blastocysts...on Saturday.

I've had a few slightly achy hours back from my ER and just had a call from the lab. Not a good call Apparently the donor sperm that we are using has "motility issues" and so the only way to save this cycle (11 eggs retrieved) is to go straight to ICSI. I don't know a thing about it, other than there's more intervention and money involved...

CeeBee - you've done a great job.....11 eggs is excellent. About ICSI - for me, since my eggs wont let my hubby's sperm inside, its hard for them to fertilise probably. We had one cycle with 6 eggs wasted as none of them allowed the sperm in...so only 1 fertilised and of course BFN.

I would do it......what it does is allow the scientist to select one good looking sperm and inject that into the egg. Thats all.......is it that much more expensive??? (i dont know as in Australia its only $500 more out of our own pocket....the government foots the rest of the bill).

Think of it this way...the cost and benefit of it...if it was me i would think they are below (you might not agree?):

Cost:
More money....
More science "tampering"
What if I lose all my eggs? none fertilised if we dont do ICSI as the sperm is not good? Then i need to do another cycle of IVF
etc

Benefit
i MIGHT have a higher chance of most of my mature eggs fertilising as they are choosing "good"sperms to inject
The cycle is not wasted...i still have a chance

Layla...i actually ended up freezing my embryos after my fresh cycle due to a progesterone mistake. Yesterday I had 2 of my frosties put back in...only 4 made it to freeze and they had to thaw all 4 to get the two for transfer. Down to 11 days until I test!

Hey girls! I was in the fall 2010 cycle group and after having a D&C and 6 weeks of BCPills, today we finally got to start STIMS!!!!! Our first IVF cycle! FINALLY! Our estimated day for ER is Dec 15th and then a transfer on the 18th or 20th. I would like to jump on back in here with the stories and support. This has been a long 7 months of one problem after another. Now we are finally here!

rypell1985 - what happened with your progesterone? My clinic gets me to start the pessaries the night after ER....11 days....i hope POAS next saturday will see two lines!!! were they blastocysts?

FET went great. Both embryos thawed beautifully. Hopefully they are neslting in nicely!

I really want to POAS already! This 2ww thing is awful! My beta isn't for another 2 full weeks -but I'll definitely POAS before that.... probbaly in a week....

Layla...I was supposed to start my progesterone the day after ER, but misread my directions and started the day before ET...RE didn't want to take the chance that my uterus wasn't ready, but after all my reading, I'm sure I would have been fine. My embies are 3- day, so they should be blasts today!

Leora-yay! Congrats PUPO!!!! Now let's keep eachother sane!!

CeeBee~ Welcome! What a horrible shock for you ! This whole journey is so crazy, when we think we've covered all oue bases then wham! I would do the ICSI because if not then you will loose them all right? But do what you feel most comfortable with, you know best! Let us know!

Hi ladies~
It sounds like there is some great stuff going on this weekend! My fingers are crossed for all of you that just had your ER's and ET's. My ER is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9:15!!!!!!! I'm so excited and nervous.... I'm just hoping things will go smoothly and we will have good quality blasts to transfer next Saturday. I can't believe this is finally happening! Looking forward to keeping up on everyone's progress.
