Caz et al,
Yes, I'm so relived you're craving carbs as well! The stodgier the better - it seems! Am stuffing my face like there's no tomorrow (used to really watch my calories beforehand, almost obsessively so...) and as a result have the same trouser problem as Gem. Zips haven't gone up fully for the last week, so trying to cover the top with tops, but they tend to be quite figure-hugging, so it's becoming really hard to disguise. Considering I've got another 4 weeks until going 'official' I have no idea how to cover myself. Am ordering lots of drawstring trousers though (NOT attractive!), which can then grow with me.
Well, that's it - have been sick every morning for the last 4 days, so it's nicely settled in, which I'm thrilled about, because I'm obviously only 'really' pg if I'm sick...! Oh, Caz, last week I also felt really nauseous and sickly all the time, didn't want to eat anything, because it all made me feel ill. But that seems to have gone now - not sure what's worse, because now I'm eating really unhealthy stuff like a horse..!
BEST WISHES to everyone! enjoy your pregnancies!
Caz, not sure about my EDD of 9th Jan (my calcs suggested 4th Jan), but they based it on the size of the emby, rather than the actual dates....
Lots of love to everyone,
bina

Hello

Well I had my 6 and 1/2 week scan today and it was so emotional. One healthy heartbeat, 5.5mm everything as it should be.

I have been told to carry on two weeks more with the horrible pessaries.

I am also craving carbs but still have no other symptoms. I put on quite a few pounds from all the drugs before even finding out I was pg. But I am going to make the effort at least to do some exercise.

We go on holiday next week so I am going to eat so much!

love Tanya

Posted elsewhere - can't remember where am all over the shop  My scan post I think! Wanted to say congrats and well done and what a relief hey - so all your lot are ok - phew I can breathe for a bit until your next set of questions. Like Zoe says forget the pounds (the kilos will look after themselves! - only joking!) you have a great excuse and often it is the only way to relieve the sickness and then once that is gone you have stretched your stomach so much it expects more  You will then have a 12 wk scan and a 20 so bubs will grow loads. The pessaries are a sod aren't they - mine leave us on them until past 8 wks - 8-9 and god they drive me crazy but all in a good cause. TAke care

Hi everyone.

I also had my first scan today and am feeling very fed up. I am 6 weeks and 1 day so they couldn't see a heartbeat yet. The sac looks fine and the 'blob' is the right size but I have to go back next wed for another scan. Was feeling very nervous and haven't slept properly for a while. Was hoping that today would make me feel better but I'm still nervous and worred and I've got another 6 days to go.

Dp delighted and can't understand my concerns but he is of the 'glass half-full' variety and I am the 'glass half-empty' sort. I know I've been through it before and it was fine but that doesn't seem to help. Both times before I've felt as though I've held my breath for 9 months. This time, I said it would be different. No chance! So more knicker checking and boob bashing. Also convinced I have felt less sick today......

Sorry to be so down when everyone else is so cheery.

Congratulations Tanya and Tracey on your scan results and roll on Wednesday.

Fiona

I can totally understand your concerns - everyone else is posting about hearbeats etc and you can't.
6 wks and one day is very early - my clinic likes to leave it towards the 7-8wks mark as better and can see much more by then. There are so many cases of not getting a heartbeat at 6wks - this is no help probably but you should be absolutely fine! The sac is the right size and this can't grow without the embie developing and with a heartbeat (it's just you could not see it) and the yolk sac is there which is important. IT was just a bit early - it's only a tiny flicker after all. I remember Jules saying she did not get one when she was scanned for the twins and I think it was later than this - they thought one would not hold out at all - hers are 2 now so they were just fine and sure you will be too. The decreasing symptoms is pyschosymatic I am sure - you just think something is wrong so they are vanishing - they are all there really. Try to worry as little as you can ok?

Fiona - isnt that too early to see a heart beat generally? My clininc was really reluctant to do it before 7 weeks, they said at 6 weeks its 50/50, so it can be a bit of a waste of time. I really wouldn't worry (ha ha!!!!). Really hope the next scan comes around quickly - I just know it will be fine though. :) . Take care.

How are we all feeling??
I am less sick and feel less "pregnant" than I have done this week. I KNOW Tracey you have said the symptoms come and go and deep down I understand that but.....this brings me on to my new panic - and I'm sorry for asking this - but if I don't ask it here there noone I can ask....is it possible after a heartbeat is found for it to stop (I know this is possible although unlikely), and if you aren't pregnant anymore is it more likely than not that you would bleed pretty quickly?
I guess I'm just so scared that even though everything was fine at the scan a few days ago - something awful could happen and I wouldn't necessarily know about it until my next scan? I mean would you usually bleed if somehing had gone wrong. I dunno?
Okay I KNOW I've lost it - is anyone else going a nuts/ paranoid as me?!! PLEEEEEAAAASE tell me you are! :D

Anyway anyway....moving on, still very into carbs - YUMMMMMY!! Now can't tell if my rather prominent pot is carb driven or baby driven. Actually dont answer that.....I think at only 7 weeks - I can probably guess this one for myself!! Gone RIGHT of salad and most veg. O dear?!!

DH gone to fotty today so going to have my hair cut and was going to have some highlights done - do we think this is okay?? Hey - tell me before 3 or it'll be too late!!

How is everyone else. Gem are you off work?? Are you loving it? what about you other ladies are you working or not? I have cut down hours a bit - usually have to be in by 7. yuk!!

Hope you all have fab weekends - sorry for my STUPID stresses. I think I will just always find SOMETHING to stress about!

Hello

Caz, those same questions have gone through my head so many times and I am not sure of the answers

However, since i saw the heartbeat I am trying to make sure I enjoy being pregnant and determined not to stress too much

I am also always craving carbs and have gone off salad. Although I am trying to eat some salad to get the goodness

I never do my trousers up any more and I think it is too early to blame it on the pregnancy> i was blaming on the pessaries which i have been told to take till 9 weeks. But it also must have a lot to do with no gym for at least two months and eating too much.

The other day my friend (who is a long ago ex) came round and said not long after seeing me, 'your boobs have grown, does that mean you're pregnant?' I just couldn't keep a straight face. I think that is down to the pessaries too , although I am not sure.

caz, you asked about working. I have been working a lot actually and have been pretty busy. But next week we go on holiday and that will be great.

I am going to try to go swimming in a minute, although I am feeling very lazy.

Still not feeling sick though

love Tanya

we are really looking forward to weds and are nervoua as well but I'm trying to be positive as if something was wrong wouldnt I start bleeding???

Sorry not been around - hectic bholiday weekend and now feel bolloxed - sorry Marcus so going to watch Timmy Henman and that's it!
Glad all ok apart from you Caz
don't worry honey - I was worried about exactly the same thing - I am no expert but my dear friend has just lost hers at 10 wks ( and don't panic - this is the 5th time - she has recurrent problems and is 44 yrs old - not IVF either but lost her baby at 32 weeks from cord around the neck just before my little Oliver died) She immediately stopped craving carbs and 5 days later started spotting - it normally takes around a week at this time but in excpetional cases can take longer. With me it was 20 weeks so did not know for 2 weeks as still had all the hormones. The symptoms do come and go I am afraid - I would make the most of it - you still sound very hormanal and are eating as you should - it would be rare Caz for anything to happen. A lot of this is pychomatic - I was the same - a few days after my scan I thought it had all gone wrong again. I am sure everythign will be just fine and please try not to worry if you don't feel very sick or something - sometimes even if you are having twins there is no sickness and at the moment it is all building up - I found 9-10 weeks was the worse and then got a bit better again but always in fits and starts.
Gem - glad all ok with you and you Tanya - not sure where bina is!

HI lovelies
Nothing much to report - just thought I'd pop on to check how everyone was doing. DH and I just had couple of nice nights away. And I'd say I only felt sick for about 60% of the time!!
Even tried to drink a glass of champagne but - errrrrrrr - its just like drinking with a hangover. No go I'm afriad. So I must have been REALLY exciting company! anyway we had a nice time.
back to work tomorrow :(
Think we might just slob out for the rest of today though!
How everyone else doing? Gem/ Tania - kind of pleased I'm not the only one having very paprnoid thoughts - but lets hope we can all put them out of our minds!
Tracey - as always.....you're a star. I know you're right I'd have to be VERY unlucky, but (stupidly) I feel like trying to anticpate the worst will make it not so bad if it happens. This is of course B*llocks logic and I think I will just try to get on with it!!

Hey Gem - are you having another scan soon? Is anyone wlse due for any scans soon. I have been offered one at 9 weeks which am pretty tempted by.

Anyone thought or know anything about dopplers - apparently they allow you to hear a heartbeat from 10 weeks - which must be amazing!

Hi everyone,
Yep, still here and (hopefully!) still pregnant - had parents over from Germany for the long weekend, so really busy!
Anyway, keep wondering whether I'm pg or not, then calling myselg half-pregnant on days that just feel 'too' normal...! Then again, have actually been throwing up every day for a week now!
So, had my first GP "signing in" appointment today, so am now officically a 'normal' pregnancy (as if - I don't think those girls have any idea, but that's a whole different thread...). Seeing midwife in 2 weeks' time (Gem, please let me know how yours went!), am also booking myself in for this nuccal gold scan to check for Down's etc., which I'll have to get done privately. That's it really -won't really rest until the 12 week scan (well, when I say rest I mean 'worry only 75% of the time as opposed to 100%)...
Hope you are all doing well - keep your spirits up and worrying down (like I'm practising what I preach, but there you go..).
Love to you all,
bina

Glad all fine with your orrible lot - only joking! Hope scans and booking ins all go fine.
One thing re dopplers - there is a movement at the moment in midwifery to recommend they do not listen to heartbeats until 16 weeks - used to be 14 - this is so they def get them - otherwise people panic - who us?
Just a thought on doppler - Caz - I think it was you asking - 10 weeks seems very early and can you imagine if you did not get it what you would be like. Personally I steered well clear but it is an emotive and individual thing. Just thought I would mention it.
Look at the Jane pushchair too - very blokey but also along bugaboo prices. WE have the intstep double from kiddicare - the single is good but there are fabby travel systems just not with doubles.
Have fun
