SD, so sorry to hear that your RE wants to push you back another cycle. What is typically the reason for this, do you know? So sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy, as well, but like you said, try to keep your chin up. It will happen!

Karen - nicely said. Science has come so far that we do have treatment options. Imagine even 3 decades ago - we would not have had this wonderful option of IVF. We should really count our blessings that we at least get a chance..

I'm new to this board so I'm not familiar with all that you ladies have been through, but I can surely sympathize with you all. My first time using this phrase ---> lots of baby dust to everyone!

I just got off the phone with my case manager not too long ago, and she predicts that I'm most likely going to be a February cycle, too. It's only because they were not able to tell me ahead of time that I was supposed to start my BCP's on cycle day 2 for the cycle that just ended. Ugh, now I have to wait a whole another month! Frustrating, but oh well.. Let's see when the next AF plans to visit.. she pays such unpredictable visits.

are we supposed to take BCPs from CD2? I started taking mine from CD5. I hope it's ok.

sunshine, that is what my case manager told me. She was out sick the entire last week, so I was not able to get a hold of her when my AF arrived. She called back on CD7 and when I asked her when I should be taking my BCP's, she said, I should've started close to the beginning of my cycle, like CD2. She sounded a bit out of it, so I'm going to try talking to her again or even my doctor tomorrow. I'm scheduled for my saline sonogram with mock embryo transfer tomorrow. can't believe the process is about to begin! Were you told to start taking your BCP's on CD5? I'm new to all this, so wish I had more information..

HI SD, Karen and others from the NOV board. I am here with you gals now to just got AF from a BFN. We wee really hoping for a Dec cycle but the clinic is closed for holidays :( So we are trying to keep a PMA. For all the ladies i don't know from before I am a surrogate for a couple. He is 54 and fine as far as his sperm quality. She is 43 and has lining issues and egg quality issues so we cycled with a donor for a fresh transfer and got a BFN. We will be doing a Natural/unmedicated frozen cycle in Jan. Hopefully this month goes by fast for all!!

Just an update: had my saline sonogram today. RE said everything looks good; no polyps or fibroids seen. yay, finally got to hear something positive! DH's labs all came out normal too, including the standard chromosome tests. I'm either going to be in the LATE January group or EARLY February group. Until I know for sure, I guess I'll lurk around both the threads :P

It's a bit intimidating being here though.. sounds like everyone knows each other around here.. i'm just a newbie. :?

sunshine, how long are you doing your BCP's for? I'm so annoyed that the other nurse who was covering for mine while she was out sick told me to start my BCP's in January. I asked her specifically when I should begin my BCP's on CD3, and she said not until next Jan. I didn't know any better so of course I trusted her. I saw my RE last week and asked when BCP's should be started and she said CD2 or 3, sometimes even CD4. So I could have already been on my way! grr.

anyway, trying not to dwell on that, and focusing on the positives. We have a phone appointment with a genetic counselor on Monday to see whether we require any further testing, especially because of a rare genetic disease on DH's side of the family. And then we're scheduled for an IVF class next Thursday. I'm hoping my AF doesn't arrive too late. It feels like such a long wait already! I had a dream last night that my AF arrived on CD 14.. which is what I'm currently on. I was ecstatic to start taking my BCP's, lol. I'm that anxious to start!

Come back from my appointment with the doctor. She cannot really do much for me:-( I had IVFs twice with her. She used the short protocol for both IVFs because of my age. The first IVF resulted in 6 follie. Among the follie, 3 were mature eggs, 1 fertilised and transfered; outcome: BFN. The second IVF resulted in 8 follies. Among the 8 follie, 4 were matured, 2 fertilised with ICSI and transfered; Result: chemical. She did not recommend DHEA, Coenzyme Q10, Fermara or any supplements to help increase number of eggs. According to her, the stimulation went well, in spite of low number of matured eggs, I had perfect embyos. It sounds illogical to me  She will do hysteroscopy to check again my uterus. We could follow the same protocol again in January. I somehow feel helpless. Is it all right? or I should change a doctor?

Meanwhile, I am still waiting for my period to come naturally following the chemical last month.

Oh, Kerri, I am SO sorry to hear about your negative outcome. Is this doctor well known? I have not gone through an IVF cycle yet, but my doctor came recommended by a lot of people. I did a lot of research to find a good reproductive center in my area before settling. I'm loving her so far as she seems very knowledgeable and sweet, but we'll see how good she really is when I start my IVF. You just need that one really good embryo to make all the difference. I know it sounds so unfair that even with all this laboratory help, that some women have such a hard time getting pregnant. Don't give up though and do not lose hope. Keep trying! I would recommend just looking into different clinics and finding out their success rates. Sorry I do not have much experience with this, so maybe the other wonderful ladies on here will be more helpful. *hugs*

kerri and hopeisallihave.. good luck for getting your AF asap.

and talk about dreams..today morning i saw that, i get 4 eggs fertilized, all of them of poor quality, and so they decide to put them all back in, even though they were not very optimistic about outcome..i hope i get to see good positive dreams in future..

i was put on BCPs for 3 weeks, and i am little concerned that they only asked me to start it on CD5. last time i remember starting it on CD4..anyway, i hope it is not gonna affect the cycle much..if everything goes as per plan, i will start my stims on 27th..

Hope- My clinic is not the best well known in my area (the largest hospital of the country is in 15 min walking distance and the hospital where the ICSI was invented can be reached within 30 minutes by car; it is the advantage of a small country) but it was recommended by an old gynaecologist friend. I was a bit surprised that he did not recommend the teaching hospital he is working but this small clinic. Anyway, I trust him for the time being.
Sunshine – So do I; I will be in January.
I had a new hysteroscopy check-up today. Everything was fine, no buds, nor endom. I asked the doctor whether she would change my protocol for the next IVF. She hesitated and replied she had to consult other colleagues, though she may change the antagonist I used for previous treatments. It is fine by me. I am curious about what she will come up. I had a brief discussion with another doctor about my protocol before my last ET. He said I had the newest medicine for the protocol (Puregon + orgalutran) and my hormone responded well to the stimulation, plus I produced perfect embryos; he did not see the reason to change protocol…. I have the feeling like a lab mouse being tested by all kind of medicines.
Talking about dream: I dreamed a kitten with cocktail green, dark blue and white chest, just like the bird I saw recently. I think I get crazy by our cats; I cannot figure out what they want.
