Hi ladies! On a rare occasion I get time to check other threads on this site and just popped on this one tonight. I've been on here since Aug. 2009 when I started IVF. I am on the thread with Angela-we are on the Winter thread in the pregnant category. There are so many inspiring stories in our group, Katie, Gi, and all the other ladies. Katie and Gi both went through 7 attempts and are now home with their beautiful babies. Angela has experienced such heartache with a loss of babies but now has little Gabriella. Pop on and read when you have time.

I can share my story: I am 33 and my husband is 36. After having a daughter naturally we could not get pregnant again. We tried for 5 years. We found out I have a low ovarian reserve of eggs and my husband has low count/motility. We went through 4 failed IUIs and 2 IVF attempts (I didn't produce enough eggs and both cycles were canceled). We went to donor eggs and it worked. I now have 5 week old twins-Jake and Delaney.

This is such a rollercoaster-I felt hopeful one second and so devestated the next. I can tell you that everyone on here is supportive and helpful. They share and provide much needed comfort. Just thought I would share my story. My husband and I ttc for about a year naturally before going to the doctor. We were told that we had male factor infertility and that we should go straight to IVF. We did, and the cycle was a complete bust. I was only 22 at the time but I did not respond well to the meds at all. Second cycle we got pregnant and had an early miscarriage, third another BFN and fourth another miscarriage. At this point I was starting to beleive that we would not be able to have kids. I started researching the internet and heard about embryo donation. My husband was uncomfortable with the idea of donor sperm, but felt like donor embryos would be a good option. (We would both have the same connection to the child--kind of an even playing field.) Within a few months of hearing about it we had found a couple through Miracles Waiting, and were receiving 8 embryos. We did our first FET not long after and had another miscarriage. I couldn't beleive it, I thought it may be impossible at this point. A few months later we did our second FET and had our baby boy this past March! He is wonderful and we would never regret having him the way we did.

I hope your success happens sooner than ours did, but never give up. If you get to the point we did embryo donation is a great option. Good luck!

Brit/Rayof sunshine- Thank you both for sharing your stories...I ahd Two FET since my Fresh got cancelled due to ohss... I am starting up again JanFeb and hoping for a fresh cycle... the first 2 bfn got me bummed but I am getting right back up and not giving up due to stories such as yours... i notice some people get pregnant right away and others took a few shots, I must be one of the ones that will take a while but I am sure it will happen for me... Thanks again for taking the time to share your stories

Hi Kynlee - Angela just had her baby girl so you can find her in the "pregnant after treatment thread" I think she also replied to a thread of is there hope, and early US results on the IVF side. Statistics say that it normally takes 3 cycles for someone to get pregnant so I think your 3rd will be the charm! PMA!!!

Rio- WHen you say 3rd would that only mean fresh cycles??? Cause I have only had 2 FET no fresh yet, but I know this time it will be Fresh cause I am starting gatorade the day I start the meds lol NO more OHSS for me, or so I hope I will have to look Angela up I love success stories

kynlee - I think they mean 3 transfers whether fresh or not. Yes, please be careful with the horrible OHSS, lots of salt, protein, keep your feet up (blood clots since your blood gets thicker) and tons of gatorade. Your next cycle will bring you your miracle!!! Google up OHSS I think there is a medication they can give you ahead of time to try and avoid it! And thank you so much for your good wishes!

Rio- Thanks I will have to look into the medicine before hand for OHSS ANd thanks for the tip on leaving your feet up they didnt tell me that last time, I didnt know your blood got thicker... Thats scary!

Hi ladies:

We did fresh cycle with donor eggs and are now 12 weeks 2 days pregnant with twins, and everything is looking good at this point. Had two previous miscarriages at 7 weeks prior to this pregnancy, also with donor eggs. Decided to switch donors, and got pregnant with fresh cycle. Good luck to all of you.

Hi Ladies-
Well I guess it has been almost exactly two years ago that I starting coming on here due to starting my first round of IVF treatments. We were told that do to male factor infertility it would be extremely difficult(if we at all possible) for my husband and I to ever get pregnant on our own and IVF was our best shot at ever having a child. Well we are a military family so we didn't know how we were ever going to afford IVF. It just so happened that a few days after we got the news I was listening to the radio when I heard a huge fertility center, the second largest in the US in my area was giving away 20 free IVF cycles for there 20th year anniverisary if you wrote a essay on why you wanted to become a parent. Well anyway, out of hundreds of applicants my husband and I found out we were winners of one of the cycles! I ended up getting pregnant on our first round with boy/girl twins that I gave birth to in January 2010! Well to our surprise a couple months after giving birth to our twins I got pregnant again on our own and in December 2010 I gave birth again to a beautiful baby girl, yess 3 babies in 1 year!!! So now two years later we became a family of 2 to a family of 5. Life is a dream come true. Honestly the whole IVF treatment/cycle seems like forever ago and is almost a blur to me know. It will happen, have faith in god he knows exactly what he is doing. Wishing everyone good luck on there journey through IVF.
