hi everyone!

franca - welcome to our thread! what a miracle story! did it take you a long time to realize you got pregnant naturally? after being in ivf mode for so long, i think if this had happened to me, i would so not expect it that i may not have caught onto the symptoms until a couple months after becoming pregnant! i guess that's also a lesson for all of us - that in spite of all our fertility issues, we probably should go back on birth control after our sweet babies are here, right?? everyone keeps telling me we may get pregnant naturally after having the twins, and i just keep on rolling my eyes, but maybe they are onto something... glad to hear your pregnancy is going well! elizabeth mary is a beautiful name! i understand what you mean about the c-section, hopefully you'll be able to get it scheduled as you hope!

kittymom - thanks for the feedback on the bras. i'll go and buy a couple sports bras to see if that help. i had been buying nursing bras - without wires but there is still decent support, and they get too small half way thru the day. i swear baby B is trying to move up in there :) glad your pregnancy continues to be pretty uneventful; no news is good news!

jenice - welcome back! i can't imagine how hard the holiday season will be without your brother, i am so sorry about your loss sweetie. so your little boy is kicking you like crazy? a soccer player in the making... 27 weeks, you'll get to meet him in no time! is your DD excited? have you picked names yet?

purple - 6 more weeks, wow! i did not realize how close you were getting! yay for healthy weights for your little munchkins! thanks for the bra tip - i'll also try one of those night-time nursing bras, i guess any support is better than no support at this point, and i really can't keep my bra on more than 2 hours without feeling like i am going to suffocate, so i end up without support at some point throughout the day. i even had to go unhook my bra when we were at the car dealership looking at mini-vans, how embarrassing (and it did not help me get a better deal, unfortunately :D ).

afm - we had an ob apt on tue, everything went well. the twins are weighing in at almost 2 pds. they were very active and we got to see them really well on the u/s. baby b was yawning a lot and you could see its jaw moving, it was so cute. they have been kicking me a lot, and started to do weird waves in my belly (i guess it happens when they reposition themselves?) it's pretty wild to see. DH got his blood type test back, he is b+ so i'll need to do a shot during my next visit b/c i am rhesus -, but it sounds like no big deal. i was also diagnosed with low iron and was put on iron supplements. they told me to take the pills "in between meals" which i can't figure out how to do that given that i eat ALL DAY LONG :) do you know what happens if you take them with food - does it make your stomach upset or decrease absorption? i started getting tired again, not quite as bad as the first trimester but my energy level is definitely lower (maybe that will get better once the iron kicks into my system). so this year i did most of my xmas shopping online as i could not find the energy to go into stores, and am 90% done. that's probably good habits to get into before the twins get here anyway! i am heading to baltimore for work next week, my last trip of the pregnancy. i am pretty excited to see my co-workers, it's going to feel lonely working exclusively from home for the nxt 6 months! i hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

and one more thing... on my very good friends gave us a lot of baby stuff yestrday - bouncy seat, exersaucer (sp?), swing, etc etc. there is now baby stuff in our house everywhere!!! she has been asking me over the past couple of weeks when would be a good time for her to drop the stuff off, and when DH thanked her for everything she said she was happy to empty her spared bedroom of all of it. well we understand why she could not wait to pass it on now!! our house is overtaken by baby gear!! and we are just getting started :)
good preparation for what's to come :)

Jenice - I am sorry your parents haven't been well, what a stressful pregnancy you have had. I hope that when you finally hold your little guy it is so much sweeter! I hope that Christmas can be fun and relaxing with time with your husband and daughter. Hopefully she will give you guys some much needed Christmas cheer.

Franca - welcome! Your story is wonderful, what great news. If your tummy is feeling tight and hard all over, then you are having contractions. They could be real or braxton hicks, but keep an eye on how often you feel them, and mention it to your doctor. I hope that your test results come back normal, but I am sure you will cherish your baby no matter what.

Kitty - I didn't know they made an H size bra either. If you plan to breastfeed, then they are going to get even bigger...
I the pain stinks! I remember it was much worse the first time, but now since I am already stretched and saggy it is not so bad=) I am having nipple pain though, it is very frustrating, I also am starting to leak (I didn't have that happen last time either)... doh. Otherwise I am feeling pretty good. I am feeling huge, but not too bad.

julia - I know ho you feel, I have toddler stuff and baby stuff. I swear my house looks like a daycare, but oh well, they are only little once. I also think toys reproduce secretly at night=) I am sorry you are having such a hard time finding a bra, what a pain. almost 2lbs is great! and how exciting that you got to see them moving and kicking, ultrasounds are so amazing. The RH - shot is no big deal, my mom had to get it when she had us, so it has been around a long time. If you take your iron with meals it just lessens the absorption. I take mine with a meal because otherwise it makes me seriously sick. My doctor said try to take it with a low calcium meal, because calcium can lower absorption too.

I start heading to the doctor every week now, and right around Christmas I will start going twice a week. Time just seems to be flying by now (why couldn't it fly by during the 2WW). I am getting a bit nervous, but I am sure it will all be fine.

Purplefish- congrats on boy/girl twins !!! That is awesome. I wouldn't have minded twins in some ways but I'm sure it is

hard in the beginning.

Julia -Are you anemic ? Looks like I'll be joining you  Do you know what your lab was ?

Franca - Wow, that is awesome that you got preggo naturally after doin IVF. I always wonder if there is a chance for us still too. Maybe after this baby would could try naturally for #3. I did get preggo naturally 3 times but that was 6 years ago. Still don't know why we couldn't get preggo with 3 years trying.

AFM- I'm anemic and my blood sugar test was slightly high so I have to do the 3 hour glucose test, YUCK !!!!!!! I have been really tired this pregnancy and I don't even work with this pregnancy. I hope my sugars aren't high, I already have high blood pressure I do take meds for.

Hey Ladies

Thanks for the warm welcome. I didn't find out i was pregnant until over 6 weeks. I remember feeling neausea and my husband who is a Doctor (GP) saying its depression and i should see my own GP maybe for some meds. (i do suffer with depression) I had constant heartburn too and period pains. Like i have been doing for years i went out and bought a preggo test thinking when i see i wasnt pregnant then the next day AF would arrive. I never had a period after my ms all i had was the bleed from the ms. I weed on the stick and walked away then u can imagine the rest. First thing my husband said was but we don't have a milkman lol! We don't really have them here in london anymore everyone just goes to the supermarket and buys it. So there you go it really does happen, so be prepared for natrual pregnancy girls lol!!

Mine are actually due January 28th, but close enough. I am due with my second set of twins, and I am thrilled! We transferred two blasts and they both took. This was our second journey through infertility, we also had trouble conceiving our first two. I have seen the heartbeats twice and I will be transferred to my OB in about 3 weeks!

Hello Ladies! I hope this finds everyone doing well. I can't believe it's Dec 9th! I can't believe I'm in my 31st week! :D

Let's see if I can catch up on some personals:
julia_78 - I traveled to CA for Thanksgiving and I agree that the travel wiped me out. I was as prepared as possible bringing my own pillow, wore compressions stockings, wore my belly brace, walked around often and drank plenty of water but still so uncomfortable and exhausted after the trip! I have had rib pain since 2nd trimester so I stopped wearing bras a while ago, I realize I'm lucky that I can do that - I was barely an A cup prior and now I'm a full A cup so support really isn't an issue for me and I can get away with wearing tank tops under my clothes.

purpleFish - You're so close! And it sounds like the twins are doing well, head down and all! At my last US before Thanksgiving our two were about 3 lbs each and both were head down, it would be great if they stayed that way. We'll see them again next Wed. I can't wait.

Franca - Welcome to the thread! Congratulations on the pregnancy and how exciting for a little girl, I like the name Elizabeth Maria. My husband is greek and the tradition is to name your children after their grandparents so for our boy it is Emmanuel after my dad, and for the girl, Angeliki, after my MIL. We have nicknames already so Emmanuel is Manoli or Noli and Angeliki is Jelli or Angie.

Jenice - I can't imagine how tough the holidays must be for your and your family. To no longer have your brother with you must be heartbreaking while at the same time trying to prepare for your litle one. My thoughts are with you.

PA_FA - Sounds like you're having some challenges as well with your mom and her MS? I hope that you are able to help her while also taking care of yourself and that little baby in your belly. I'll send some good vibes your way too.

kitty_mom - My pregnancy twin! Can you believe how far along we are? I started freaking out about two weeks ago. We're finally taking our labor/Great Expectations class this Saturday so maybe I'll feel a little more prepared mentally after that. However I am not looking forward to sitting in a classroom for 8 hours :(

zavonrayenz - Welcome to the thread! Though this is a February Babies thread, I think there are a few of us that will be delivering in January considering all the twins we have on this board! And this is your SECOND set of twins - AMAZING!

AFM - I am nervous, excited, and sleep-deprived! LOL The babies room is close to done, the cribs are up and we got a ton of stuff from our Babies Shower a couple of weeks ago. We'll probably try to close out our registry in the next week or two to make sure we have everything we need to bring the babies home. Double stroller should be here in about a week and glider recliner chair should be here in one month.
We are having more frequent OB and US appts so it's nice to hear and see the two so often.
Most of my pregnancy has been really good but these last couple of weeks and I'm assuming for the rest of the pregnancy will be filled with lower back pain, rib pain, and that weird itchy, burning feeling with my skin stretching. I've been trying to stay committed to prenatal aerobics and yoga but I'm definitely starting to slow down now!

I'm attaching a picture of my hubby and I from our babies shower. A friend captured this precious moment, and I'm so glad she did!

Hope all is well! :)

mev- I LOVE the pic of you and DH. So sweet!

zavonrayenz- You are due Jan 28, have only seen the hb twice and will be transferred to your OB in 3weeks???? Really???? That math just does not add up. Sorry. You'd be in your 3rd trimester and would have been seeing your OB for months. Do you have the right month here?????

AFM- Went to the ob today. I gained 1lb in the last month. I really thought I ate more turkey than that. :) So I am still down 3lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. My Dr is happy and I start seeing her every 2weeks now. :) I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Hey Mommas-
How's everyone feeling???

Mev-Great photo how sweet. I wish that I was feeling remotely photogenic and I know I'll regret it later I just cant let anyone near me with a camera!

Rio-Again so super happy for you :) :)

Purple-Hope you are feeling better. Cant imagine being sick while pregnant with twins never mind with twins already at home too !

PA-Hope things are well with you. Glad to hear you are feeling better. We are getting closer to meeting our babies every day!!!!!

Franca-I was having BH contractions and didnt even know it for over a month. I only found out because I was in for a non stress test and the nurse told me that I had two while I was on the monitor. Since then I have been able to recognize them. Mine feel like a super tightning in the belly and my stomach actually comes to a "point" (for lack of a better word feels like they are smushed tightly together). They come with a tiny bit of pelvic pressure but then again I always seem to have pelvic pressure!

AFM-Have an appointment with Maternal Fetal Medicine and my OB. Cant wait to see my babies again. The doc told me that starting next week (32weeks wow!) I will go for a non stress ever week and then starting at 36 (if I make it that long according to the MFM nurse) I will go twice a week. I keep telling all the docs I dont care if I have to go to the hospital every day I'll be there. I'll do whatever I can to help these two stay safe! Cant believe how close we are getting. I was looking through all my ultra sound pics and cant beleive the progression of them it is truly amazing!

Hope everyone is well :)

PA - ugh! I don't know how you are dealing with being sick for so long. I can take a cold, but 14days.. yuck. My kids have been sick for about that long and they are finally almost over it, but they still have a bit of residual coughing. I am on day 8 of this and it is kicking my backside. Wow your weight is amazing... I am up 40ish pounds at this point. How are the bi-weekly checkups? I just started those too!

mev - 31 weeks! Awesome!!! 3lbs is great, and I bet you can't wait to see them again. I agree head down = awesome! I hope they stay that way too. My Dr. said that my presenting baby really can't turn anymore, her head is in the proper birthing position and it would be really hard to wiggle out of it. I love your names, very cute. Ours are Lindsey and Russell. How did your class go? It is normal to slow down. Hopefully you have a minimum of pains, but I have to tell you my back is killing me=) Otherwise though, I am still feeling pretty good, a lot better than last time=)

jenice - how did the 3-hour glucose go?

kitty - you should make sure to get a few shots of your belly. You will regret it if you don't have any. I did that much fetal monitoring the first time around, it was annoying and reassuring at the same time. It was nice to know that everything was okay, but I didn't enjoy being hooking up for a half hour every other day on the uncomfortable exam table. This time around my doctor said they have revised their protocol a little bit. Since I have no complications, I will start fetal monitoring at 36 weeks and then only once a week, unless they see a problem. Let us know how the ultrasound goes, I bet it will be amazing to see them again. You can make it to 36 weeks!! I have faith!

Franca - I have been having braxton hicks off and on the past month. I feel them now more that I am farther along. For me they don't hurt, my belly gets really hard and tight and then releases. It is almost like flexing a muscle. It is normal to have them, my doctor says if you feel more than 4 an hour he likes to know about it, just so they can do a little monitoring.

afm - got the greenlight to go ahead and try a VBAC! I am so thrilled. The first time around I knew from around 32 weeks that the presenting baby was breech and probably wouldn't turn, so I never really bothered with learning about labor=) Now I am madly reading up on labor and delivery. My doctor did let me know I will have to deliver in the operating, just in case. I am crossing my fingers that I won't have to have another c-section, I really didn't care for the recovery, but obviously if I have to I will do it again!

I am so excited for all of us. I can't wait to see all the baby pictures!

Also ladies everyone make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water! Being properly hydrated can help prevent preterm labor!
