Thank you for the warm welcome, this was quite the surprise!

Karen - Sunday! Post pics! I have a pooch too :( my OHSS left me with a 6 month belly now that I have to try and hide. Love your tree!

Happy bunny - what a jerk, I agree that you and baby come first!

Sonya - oh my, can you cancel her coming on Xmas? You really don' tneed this right now. Sorry you have to deal with crazy and it seems like you handle her pretty well. Glad DH recognizes she is crazy. I can't believe it is all about her when you are pregnant with her grandchild!

gina - I don't think ours are identical I think I saw two sacs but they were back to back. I had pressure on my cervix with my son but not that early on, please have them check!

Babyblu - excited and terrfied is what I am! I want to try and bfeed both but also supplement with formula, how about you?

Amanda- when is your next US?

mellow - good to see you here. Good luck hiding it for teenagers! I swear they notice everything you don't want them to, but none of the stuff you want them to! ;)

I went to my OB early because of my contract with RE being over, he scheduled me a 1 1/2 hr appt. Yickes! So what is the norm on twins, do they check you every 2 weeks? He wants to do another US next week. I also heard there are different types of sharing the sac besides twins just being identical or fraternal. Something about when the sacs fuse? I was worried because mine seemed really back to back and not separated like other fraternal twin US I have seen, I was 6w4d so they are both measuring right on. Any thoughts? Thanks!

rio - Awesome pic of the twins!! Woo-hoo, I am soooo excited for you!!

Sonya - I'm so sorry you have to deal with such a horrible woman. I'm glad DH sees her for what she is and I wish she didn't have to stay with you for Christmas. What a horrible way for you to have to spend the holidays when you should be happy and cheerful.

Barbara - I don't blame you for your rant, I'd be ticked off too! What a jerk!!

AFM, pretty quiet here. I looked at the calendar and realized this week was my first "doctor appointment free" week since the week of September 5th! GEEZ!! I go see the MFM on Thursday for a regular OB check & u/s, then I'll have my first trimester screening (b/w and NT scan) on 12/27. So I'll get those 2 things done and hopefully have a confirmed date for my TAC surgery (should be 1/3 or so.)

I'm DETERMINED to breastfeed my twinkies! I have a handful of ppl that are bottlefeeders saying it doesn't make that big of a difference... I BEG TO DIFFER! One woman at work had twins 20-some years ago and she laughed at me saying there's no way I can do it with two. WATCH ME! Unfortunately, I'll only be able to do it for 6 weeks because of my job. I won't be able to pump at work, so I'll start weening around 4 or 5 weeks. :(

In identical twins, there are a few different things that can happen. Two sacs, two placentas. Two sacs, one placenta. Or one sac, one placenta. My RE described these various situations like the babies having their own "bedroom" (amniotic sac) and their own "kitchen" (placenta). Made it easier to picture and understand the different risks with each. Are yours identical or fraternal?

BEAUTIFUL PIC!!!

Sonya - I'm so sorry to hear about your DH's looney tune mom. My older children's father's mother is a head case, so I can sort of relate. Their father is a momma's boy, so it was a battle I fought alone (one of the MANY reasons we broke up years and years ago). It sounds like your DH has a reasonable grasp on his mother's "issues", so that's good for you. Good for you for standing up to her! I personally feel as though giving in to behavior like that makes it worse. Is it possible for her to stay somewhere besides your home for Christmas? If not, I hope it'll be a super short stay. I have a feeling she'll be trying HARD to get under your skin. Hang in there, and don't let her get to you. Not only do you and baby not need the stress, but it'll piss her off that she's not hitting a nerve in you! Keep us posted, we're here for you to unleash pent up fury.

Stephanie - I breasfed my son exclusively for 6 months then up to 15 months. My only regret is that I didn't give him a bottle here and there. People scared me so much about him wanting the bottle more than the breast that the complete opposite happened to me. He absolutely refused a bottle, with breast milk or formula! To this day he had a total of 3 bottles in his lifetime! When I went for gallbladder surgery 2 mos after he was born it was a huge crisis. I had to store enough for him and then my DH had to get him to take the bottle, then I had to pump and dump. So I agree on breastfeeding but I also want to try and supplement with formula to get them used to it, and have an emergency plan! I hope I can have enough milk! I am pretty sure our twinkies are fraternal, it could just be the angle that shows them too close and back to back. Of course I am still worried about everything! Especially the vanishing twin. How often will you see your OB? I am huge already!

Hi ladies! Just wanted to jump on here real quick and say congrats to you all!!

Rio and Babyblu - Just wanted to let you know that my twinnies are now 5 weeks old and I am nursing them. You MUST MUST MUST get a twin nursing pillow!! I can now nurse one and diaper the other at the same time :D I had to supplement a bit in the beginning, and every time they hit a growth spurt, but other than that it was all breastmilk except for the midnight feeding my husband does (and that would sometimes be pumped milk). For some reason my milk started to dry up a few days ago, but I just started drinking the Mother's Milk tea and eating oatmeal, and that seems to be helping. I'm now needing to give them a few bottles a day, but I am trying to get my supply back up so I can keep up with the nursing a little bit longer. I recommend drinking it early on if you have a supply issue.

I personally find it easier to nurse them at the same time than bottle feed at the same time. I went into all of this wanting to try to breastfeed but be ok with formula (my first two were adopted and bottle fed and are just fine. My son is actually the healthiest kid I know). Now that I am doing it, I don't want to stop! The hardest part is not being able to do it in public. There is no way to tandem nurse twins discretely and I am not up for making a huge scene (and I'd have to lug that pillow around). It really hasn't been a problem, just when I want to spend the day at Disney with my family. Other than that, I'm very happy I've been able to do it. My SIL nursed her twins for 2 1/2 years (a little too long for me!) and another friend did it for 14 months or so. DO NOT let anyone say you can't! It's really a supply issue, whether your kids latch, etc...basically the same as with a singleton.

Oh, and I totally recommend introducing the bottle like rio said! My girls have had two different types of bottles, the breast, pacifiers, and different types of milk all with no problems. I am soooo happy they got used to all of it early and didn't have any confusion! I know all babies are different, but neither one has had any nipple confusion. Amelia struggled to latch a little in the beginning, but figured it out after a few days.

Good luck and congrats!

babyluv - thanks for the reassurance, I will definitely be looking for a that nursing pillow! Someone suggested it (MIL I think) but I have no idea where to get one. Can you find them at any baby store or do you have to go online?

We have really crappy weather moving in over the next couple days, rain changing to heavy snow. Great! And I hafta work in it!

I hope everyone else has a fantastic weekend!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. :) Glad to see my friend Rio was able to join with some fantastic news. :) So happy for you Rio.

I think it's finally hitting me. I am so super dizzy I can't do a thing...and feeling a bit pukey, but no puking going on. It just feels like motion sickness. Actually yesterday I had some sharp pains in my side, so I am going to try and get it earlier to see if everything is okay and where it's supposed to be. Hopefully Monday, but DH is outta town...I hate to go alone. It's been an emotional and stressful week...one that I am glad to have over with. We had our court depositions for the case against the hospital and pediatrician for the loss of our son...terribly emotional, and 5 hours of questioning for just me...2 more hours for DH...exhausting. Glad it's done, but holy cow, what a thing to have to re-hash. Nothing about it is easy.

Hope you all have a wonderful and uneventful weekend. :) And again, thank you for welcoming me in to your group.

Ryann - The story about busting one of your kids with candy had me CRACKING up! I just know you're safe to join, but fully understand being hesitant and cautious. We're down by Champaign-Urbana (University of Illinois). Last Friday, we were predicted to get 1 to 2 inches of snow and it turned into 6! So, I don't trust the weather people right now and feel like it's gonna be a nightmare tonight and tomorrow at work.

Mellow - Depositions are tough to get through as it is without having to sit and recall details of the most horrible experience of your life. For what it's worth, I admire your courage and strength. I pray for the healing of you and your family's hearts and for the exceptional health of the little life you are carrying.

Sonya - I'm curious about how the Prometrium situation ended (if it did?). I spoke with one of my former RE nurses and she said I could taper off of mine to put me more at ease. I was on 3 a day this whole time, which seemed like a lot after reading what other woman were taking. But, I did 2 a day for the last 4 days and will do 1 at bedtime for the next 4 then I'm finished.

Babyluv - congrats on your twins and thank you for the tips, if you have any more tips on having twins and toddlers, I am all ears!!!

Ryann - welcome! And congrats again on BFP!

Baby blu - My RE already gave a tapering off calendar and I am completely done by 10weeks, wonder why they did it so slow?

Mellow - I posted for you on the other board too, so sorry you had to relive this all. Glad to see you here, if you are having apins you should go make sure your beans are where they should!

I got two wordds for me, tired and hungry and when I am not that I am hungry and tired ;) I had gestational diabetes with our son and I am worried that I might have that again, I had to take insulin and everything, it was really stressful.

Baby; I just ended the progesterone... I was told to end at 9 or 9.5 weeks and I went to ten weeks... I've been even more sick than when I was on it so I'm sure the placenta is taking over. We've been able to pick up the baby's heartbeat with our doppler which is SUPER reassuring!!!

I'm SO HAPPY to see so many cycle buddies here... should we start an 'important date' ticker thingy like they have on the Fall cycle? How is it done? Just copy and paste the last one? How about we start our own... and post it on the first page.. (I'll edit it)
