Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone has or is having treatment at the Lister Hospital and what you thought of it and if you would recommend them.We are considering going there for our next IVF treatment but hoped that someone out there might be able to give us some advice on the unit.Thank you very much and we would appreciate any advice you can give us.Wishing everyone lots of luck at least we know from this site that miracles can and do happen.Hoping for lots more little miracles for all of us.

Well I am curently on my 2ww and have had my ICSI treatment at the Lister - I can thoroughly recommend them - all the consultants I met (which were 3) were lovely but my main consultant was Dr Raef Faris and he is an absolute angel - I had my first treatment back in March cancelled as I had not reacted well to the drugs and I was devastated but he was lovely and put it all into prospective. In fact the first time I only produce 2 follicles and this time round produced 15 so they know what they are doing. It can get very busy in there but everyone is more than pleasant. I had all my scans with Liz and she is great, really puts you at ease. Dr Chan did my egg collection and he was also really lovely! The ward nurses are lovely too - in fact, I am so pleased that I have had my treatment there and wouldn't choose anywhere else.
Good luck with our future treatment Nicky, all the best
Love
Nickie

Hi. I have been watching this site for nearly a month and found it on my 2ndWW. Unfortunately, my computer has been playing up so I couldn't reply until now - very frustrating. I had my EC on 28 April and Et on 1st May at the Lister and had a +ve test on 12 May. Am now feeling very tired and sick.
I think the Lister is fantastic and would echo everything already said about it. My consultant is also Dr Faris and Liz also did my scans. Everyone is very kind, helpful and professional.
I would also recommend them because my 6 yr old daughter was conceived through IVF there, which is why I went back there even though I live 100 miles away now!! Give them a go and good luck.
Thank you both very much for replying. We are going to go to their next open evening on Monday 7th June and your positive replies have made us feel a lot more optimistic and hopeful.
Nickie-I really hope that you get a positive result.Sending you lots and lots of luck and good wishes.
Fiona-Congratulations on your pregnancy and hope that you will have a trouble free pregnancy and will be able to enjoy it.
Thanks again to both of you and best wishes to both of you .

Hi,
I have just transfered to the Lister for a frozen embro transfer. My consultatnt is also Dr Faris. My consultation with him was really good. I do find it all a bit busy and impersonal there as I am used to a smaller clinic in Bournemouth. The receptionist woman always looks a bit stressed and needs a chill pill. But so far so good, they are really flexible and certainly know their stuff.
Good luck .....

Is that the buxom girl called Arabella Bosoms ! or the one with the dodgy hair!!!! I agree with you about reception but the doctors were great and Liz remembers all sorts of things about you, including which clothes you can no longer get into..........!
FIONA - you made me laugh out loud at that one! I TOTALLY agree and funnily enough her nickname in our household is Arabella Titf*** who nearly got a piece of my mind on the our first encounter. However she did redeem herself (once) by actually smiling as I approached the ACU reception desk (I thought she must have had got lucky the night before until I realised she had an extra large packet of Liqourish Allsorts in her drawer)!
Anyway, Nicky you won't come across her on the open evening but when you have your first appoointment just ignore her when you get there - she's like that with everyone - xx

I have a beautiful baby daughter (7 weeks old!) following blastocyst treatment at the Lister, and can't recommend them enough. It was my fifth go at it altogether, but my first attempt at the Lister, under Sam, who is lovely. All the nurses, docs, scanners etc were lovely and made a traumatic experience almost exciting - does that make sense?!
Just thought you would like to know that I was at the Lister today for a scan and Arabella Big Tits was the most stressed I have ever seen her. So much so that she nearly came to blows with a patient who wanted to know why she had to wait for a blood test. It was very exciting. In the end tho, no blood spilt. My money would have been on Arabella, she does have 2 very large weapons.....!!!!
Fiona,
I hope everything went well with your scan and that everthing is fine.I am really looking forward to seeing the receptionist and it sounds like she certainly takes your mind of things while you are waiting especially as we now know what to expect.
Take Care,
Nicky
Thanks. Unfortunately, at 6 weeks and 1 day it was too early to see the heartbeat so I have to go back tomorrow at 7 weeks. Time is really dragging and I have of course imagined the worst. Still, it'll be lovely to see the receptionist again....
Fiona,
I really hope and am sure that everything will be fine tomorrow they just booked you in to early for your first scan it seems to happen to quite a few people who are on this site i don't think the clinics realise how much worry and upset this causes .Easier said than done but try not to worry and keep positive as i'm sure you will have nothing but good news tomorrow.Take care and let us know how you get on.
