Hello,
I have had 3 IVFs --as you can see from my siggie--with varied results, but obviously no baby. Since insurance ran out, we have turned to IUI despite my "advanced age". I am on my 3rd IUI cycle. The first two cycles I stimmed for 7 days with 150 Gonal-F, triggered with Ovidrel--and BFN. I had about 3 mature follies on my left side where I have a tube. I really pushed to do something different this 3rd go-round so he added Menopur--150 daily. After 4 days of stims, during my SnS today I had on my left side: A 23 (maybe leftover cyst? although the ones on my Right all resolved), 17,15,14, +8>10mm and 9<10mm. My E2 is 755.
When the nurse called with my directions she told me to continue with meds, return on Monday, but have sex on Sunday--in case I spontaneously ovulate before I come back on Monday. I, of course, questioned this and requested to be seen on Sunday, but she said they don't do u/s on Sundays, only IUIs and other procedures. I was a bit upset and pressed her further and she said if I ovulate on my own that "would be fine". I said, no, I really was hoping the others would have a chance to catch up before I am triggered so couldn't I get an antagonist to prevent me from ovulating? She told me I couldn't (is that right?) because then they couldn't trigger me on Monday if needed.
I told her I'd been through several IVFs and had taken Ganirelix towards the end of my stimming every time, but by then I could tell I was irritating her because then she just kept saying..you need to trust your doctor's expertise, etc.
So: My question is what is the chance that I will ovulate spontaneously this weekend? And, in my opinion, waste this cycle.
Is there anything I can do in the next two days?
Thank you--Ghost, and anyone else with an opinion on the matter.
