AFM - Was totally exhausted today which I saw as a good sign so I napped while DD was napping pretty much all afternoon. When I woke up I noticed some brown discharge like old blood - OMG I am freaking out - two positive tests in a row and now this! It is so typical of me I get excited & relax a little then my body smacks me back into reality - UGH. I know it could be nothing but it really feels like the beginning of my period - I will keep everyone updated I am having a hard time staying positive this has happened so many times before -

txc, wow, that's a good number of embryos! Good luck with the 2ww! It's natural to worry, but try to remain calm and enjoy the feeling of being PUPO!

Katie, sorry you're dealing with a scare, but could that not be implantation bleeding? I'm hoping for a positive outcome for you.. keep strong!

AFM... sadly, again I have to say it was a BFN... my RE called personally to tell me the bad news... he sounded really bummed... I have had a very sad day... Maybe 5th fresh IVF is the charm... ~sigh~.... BUT... maybe I won't need a 5th...

.... ON A VERY POSITIVE (and quite shocking) NOTE...
I just got a call that a birth mother just had her baby yesterday and is considering us to adopt her baby...
I'm crossing everything I can and praying ... maybe this is the way DH and I are meant to be parents...
Let me tell you girls... neither road has been short or easy... (...sadly ... you all can relate!!!...)
but any way G*D wants me to be a parent I'll take it and be happy...
and will try to make my future children as happy and as good as possible...
~~~not sure if I'm crying of sadness, happiness or nervousness in anticipation...
If anyone has prayers available to help this birth-mom decide on us... please send them our way...

I'll send BFP vibes to everyone...

and may we all get the miracle we're yearning for in our hearts!!

longtimerivf, I'm praying with every fiber of my being that the birth mother picks you and your DH to be remarkably wonderful parents to her child! So sorry to hear about your BFN, but maybe this is the way it was meant to be? SO SO hoping and praying for a positive outcome for you!

cshell- im sooooo sorry. there's nothing i can say that will make it better. Just concentrate on "what's next on your plan"...

jen- as i have only just suffered a m/c about 2 and a half months ago - i know how you might feel. my baby stopped growing too.....the low progestrone levels were a worry. But then i was spotting for almost 2 weeks before i lost the baby...so it was a hell of a ride.

ryann - your numbers are doubling REALLY well - i might bet on twins!

easley - what a strong first beta! well done...either early implanter or twins?

AFM - tomorrow is beta day....actually 8 hrs time....then i find out maybe 5/6hrs after the blood test. God im nervous.....this is so hard. This being our tenth IVF attempt since our DD - i've gotten so numb to everything, thinking if i think of the possibility of being pregnant, that it might not come true. I'm scared of jinxing myself........i hope to god that everything is ok............

Bad news for me too... Beta was negative. It's no surprise really, but it hurts just the same. We are truly heartbroken. We are trying to schedule our WTF? appointment for this Thursday so we can figure out the next step. I am 99.9% sure that we will be moving onto IUI with donor sperm. We tried IVF for severe male factor and, in hindsight, it wasn't the best idea for us. At least we know that we tried everything we could.

Cshell -- So sorry it's bad news for you too. This is so painful.

Longtimer -- A PBM! That's exciting!!! We too have an active adoption profile. We have been "on the books" for seven long months with no contacts.

Jen -- There are really no words. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope that you can find peace.

Lay -- Wishing you tons of goodluck today!

Hello Ladies - As some of you know we adopted our DD - so this is something I know about - LongtimerIVF - I am praying with everything I have & know that this birth mom picks you if she only knew what a wonderful & amazing mom you would be to her little bean. The waiting is the hardest part once you know there is a baby out there and you are being considered the waiting almost put me over the edge even after she picked us there was a day that she was still on the fence until we went to court I was a complete & total mess.

As for the rest of you considering adoption - I think probably most of you are going through the usual resource which would be an agency - we did too - however we ended up adopting privately - the best advice I can give you all is to tell every single person you know - and tell them to tell every single person they know - then hire a lawyer! We kept it quiet for so long because we were scared of jinxing it but as soon as we told everyone someone came out of the wood work and said they had a friend of a friend etc... whose niece got her preggers and was looking for adoptive parents she choose us. I am not saying this always works but you never know and it can't hurt to have all those people sending positive energy your way. I still had to jump through all the state & federal hoops home studies, back ground checks, federal background checks, medical checks etc....but I didn't have to use the agency which can sometimes get very expensive because they set the price where you adopt privately you work directly with the birth mom. I am happy to answer any questions on anything having to do with adoption I am not a expert but I know how to work the system a little bit Adoption is a beautiful thing but like IVF it is a difficult process & will test you in ways you didn't think possible and when you come out from it, it will only make you stronger.
