Posted for you on the "only just here" thread but here goes again!

Fiona

I can totally understand your concerns - everyone else is posting about hearbeats etc and you can't.
6 wks and one day is very early - my clinic likes to leave it towards the 7-8wks mark as better and can see much more by then. There are so many cases of not getting a heartbeat at 6wks - this is no help probably but you should be absolutely fine! The sac is the right size and this can't grow without the embie developing and with a heartbeat (it's just you could not see it) and the yolk sac is there which is important. IT was just a bit early - it's only a tiny flicker after all. I remember Jules saying she did not get one when she was scanned for the twins and I think it was later than this - they thought one would not hold out at all - hers are 2 now so they were just fine and sure you will be too. The decreasing symptoms is pyschosymatic I am sure - you just think something is wrong so they are vanishing - they are all there really. Try to worry as little as you can ok?

Thank you so much for your kind and sensible words. Its prettymuch what my DP said but it's much easier to listen to coming from someone who has been there. I am trying some PMA although I haven't felt at all sick today. However, I never felt sick with Jake and only felt a bit sick for a short time with Gabriela. I should count myself lucky particularly as I have just been to see a friend who is 2 weeks ahead of me and she is throwing up the whole time. It's so bad she can't leave the house.

I do feel a bit peed off that they booked me in so early. I think I would rather have waited a bit longer and been able to see the heartbeat. Will just have to resort to more chocolate!!!!

You are very welcome as you should know! You also know all pg's are different and can't really compare them can you. You would not of course (unless I am being thick and getting my facts wrong) had a scan with your other pg's so would have not had these worries so early on in your pg. Plenty of choccie that's the ticket and loads of fluids. You will be chucking up soon enough or feeling nauseous and then I will remind you of this conversation.
Enjoy the weekend with your DP and remember that they deal with pressure a lot differently to us and it 's not their body either so they do tend to go for the half full mechanism in their glasses! Try and enjoy it and try not to worry too much for your DP's sake (not easy I know) but this is a first for him isn't it? HAve everything crossed but still think there is only good news to come for you!

Thank you for more words of encouragement. I did have early scans with both the others - one was IUI and the other IVF. I had bleeding with the first at about 7 weeks and they could see an empty sac as well as a full one. With no. 2 I had a scan at 6/7 weeks and they said the sac was a dodgy shape and therefore was not viable. She is now a very lippy six year old so the medical experts don't always get it right!!!!!!!!!!

DP is off to see his mother tomorrow and his children who live in Switzerland but are here for the weekend (very complicated). Think it might do us good to have a night apart. I can eat an entire packet of chocolate Fingers and bash my boobs without him giving me strange lookds!!

Off to do some retail therapy in London after that. Shame I can't fit into anything! Have a good one.

There you go then - you don't come out of the "straight forward book" at all do you? Looks like no exception - must be very worrying but look at your lippy 6 yr old and remember............
Hope you are still not stuffing choccy fingers and boob bashing. Keep us posted

Thank you for the reassurance. Had my scan yesterday at 7 weeks and saw the heartbeat so cue the tears!! Feel greatly reassured and am going to try and worry a bit less. As I posted to Bina, this bit is a endurance test though, to be honest, I held my breath for 9 months both times before. It isn't until you're holding your healthy baby that you breathe out. Still managed to talk a lot during the 18 months though!!!!

Have now got to register with a new doctor as I moved house 6 months ago and 'book in'. Have heard some terrible things about my nearest hospital - apparently you have to get your own breakfast from the toaster!!!!

I am of course delighted and not suprised - I am thrilled for you both - yep relax a bit but I know what you mean about always "worrying" TAke care and own breakfast from the toaster - register elsewhere immediately
