We will most likely be trying for number two this summer and it makes me kind of nervous. Our little guy is eight months lod, and the last eight months of not thinking about getting prgnant, or being pregnant, have been wonderful. It took us five years to have our ds, and it is kind of intimidating starting that rollercoaster ride again.
After 7 attempts (2 negatives/3 miscarriages), we have TWO miracle boys!! If you would like to hear our story, please visit http://www.ivfsuccessstories.info. Never give up, it can happen for you!!
i will be trying for #2 in january. my son is 9 months old. ideally i would probably wait a little longer - but given my age and the fact that it might take us a couple of tries to get pregnant ( it took us 2 tries last time) i am getting going now.

I have a two year old & am on my 2ww with #2 maybe #3 too right now! I like that she will be able to help me out with some things - she is pretty helpful with my friends 4 month old. I hope we didn't wait too long - I am 41 but we did have 8 viable eggs - two transferred & have 6 on ice. Heres hoping! I will have this one just shy of my 42nd birthday!! Yikes!

I would have tried sooner by much little guy really struggled with weaning. He's almost 2 now but breastfed until about 16 months, it was way more challenging than I thought it would be.
Good luck to everyone!
Wow! mine on the other hand refused the breast at 3 months. I had to pump the milk and give it to him in the bottle. he would only take the bottle. so the weaning was up to me. i switched to 100% formula at 8 months so that i could do this again. i would have liked to keep going to 12 months, but what can you do.

My little guy is eight months old. We will be trying in the summer, the sam time we got pregnant with number 1. So, if it worked, they would be exactly two years apart. I am faily young still but my DH is 40 and he thinks he is getting old . Not being able to wean is a good problem to have in my eyes. I was set on breastfeeding, and did for three weeks. He lost over a pound and I was not producing almost any milk. I continued to do both until he was eight weeks old, but it was exhausting doing both when I knew he was getting so frustrated with the low milk supply. It was a horrible experience!

We will be trying for #2 in March/April. We have a DS that just turned 2. Wanted to try earlier but it just didn't work out. We did do a FET in November that resulted in a Chemical Pregnancy..booo...we have 3 more frozen embies. Decision will be to transfer 2 or 3. Now going to focus on me for a few months and exercise, lose weight, etc. Last time we did the FET my company did layoffs 2 days before my transfer. Stress stress stress. Now DH is having major shoulder surgery at the end of Jan and he won't be able to lift for about 4-6 weeks..so after we can help me again we will go ahead and try again...
My baby girl just turned 1! What a year it's been. I thought trying for number 2 would not be stressful at all being that we're so blessed with our daughter. But just the thought of the IVF process is giving me major anxiety. I know I don't want to wait too long though. It took us 3 tries of IVF to get lucky. I'm thinking after the summer we'll try with out frozen embryos. Wonder if I'll get lucky!!??!
Me: 35 no known issues, DH 35 low morphology (2%) and low motility, bilateral vericocelectomy
IUI with clomid #1-#3: all BFN
IVF#1: BFN
IVF #2: M/C at 8 weeks
FET #1: BFP! DD 2 yrs old!
Trying for #2 soon and anxious again...didn't think I would be.
Sthomson- I know how you feel about bring anxious about #2. I think I am just dreading starting the whole process over again. It took us 6 cycles!! It sure would be nice if God would let us be lucky on the first try this time we have four frozen envies, if they don't work we will probably be done.
Our little boy is nine months and I really want him to have a sibling.

We hope to be trying again for #2 in 2011 - possibly the fall. I was blessed to get have my daughter with the first try at IVF and she is now 16 1/2 months old and I love her dearly. Luckily we have 4 frozen ones just waiting for us I am so scared since I was so sick during the IVF procedures and then I ended up with HELLP syndrome when I was pregnant with my daughter and had to have an emergency c-section at 37 weeks. Everything turned out okay but I was so sick after delivery - my doctor told me I more then likely will not end up with HELLP syndrome again but will more then likely end up with pre-eclampsia (sp?) My daughter is worth it and I love her with all my heart, I just hope one of the 4 remain with us also or we will be satisfied with just our one miracle. I already told my DH I couldn't go through another round of IVF on the FET and then I will be done ; o (

SDtrying - looks like we have a lot in common, our son just turned 2 and I breastfed him until he was 15 mos and had a hard time weaning, he never took to formula or milk.
I was lucky to have our son in our 1st IVF, then when he was just under 2 we did another fresh cycle and I had an ectopic pregnancy. On our 3rd fresh cycle we were lucky again and had two babies show up with heartbeats at 7.5 weeks. Unfortunately one twin lost his heartbeat but the other one is strong. I still worry everyday and I thought going for #2 would be easier than #1, but I don't think it was.

was sucessful with my first IVF and had a beautiful baby boy NOV 09. Tried a FET in SEPT with BFN. WIll try one more FET in JAN/FEB and that will probably the end of my journey. Have 2 more frozen embies. Hopefully this will be a BFP otherwise most likely it will be the end of our journey. I am now 41 and I know that the odds are slowly, or quickly rather going against us!
RIO: I was pregnant with twins also and lost one of them at 6 weeks. Gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby. While sometimes I still think about the loss, I thank God everyday for my miracle. So stay positive! Others in my group had similar experiences.
Nancy - I hope your 2 frosties bring you a BFP. Thank you so much for what you said. I am so happy for my baby but I didn't think the loss of a twin so early could be so tough emotionally. It has been two weeks and I only saw him/her once with a HB. Thank you again for what you said!

I have been trying for number 2 for 2 years now. My dd Ella is 2 yr 4 m right now. We were lucky to get pregnant with her on our first ivf. I thought it would be easy to get pregnant a second time b/c the dr knew "what worked for me" the first time. I was wrong. We tried a fresh cycle when dd was about 10 months old, it failed. FET a couple months after that, chemical/fail. Then we were halted by finances from those 2 tries. Here we are almost 2 years later and I got a new job that gives me full coverage. We just went for our consult last week and are planning 2 tries for the summer. I also am dreading the thought of the needles, emotions, hormones, etc. But I also feel like I know it's what I need to do and I just want to "get it over with" as quickly as possible. DD is just perfect, easy baby, very good toddler and I wonder sometimes if we should just stop. But then I think about how close I am with my brothers and I want Ella to have that too. So I will just keep going. Good luck to all of you going for number 2!

CT-Michelle--I think I cycled with you when you got pregnant with Ella. Wow I can't believe she is over 2 already! I stayed away from the boards for a while after so many miscarriages and negatives, it was beginning to get really hard.
Most of you ladies got pregnant really quickly through IVF! It took us 6 cycles to have our miracle baby; we have 4 frozen embies left to try for a sibling. If it doesn't work our little boy will probably be an only child. Good luck to everyone!
