A Christmas Miracle!

Post by lt81 »

My husband and I underwent our first cycle of ICSI in September and sadly it ended in a BFN. We saw our consultant again at the end of November and he told gave us just a 10-15% chance of IVF working for us (reduced from 40-50% chance before they started the first cycle).

My cycles have been a bit erratic since the IVF cycle so I wasn't too concerned when my period was late. On boxing day I was trying to remember how long ago my previous cycle had been (so erratic not worth trying to plot them!). I realised it was the start of November. So I took out a HPT from the back of the cupboard (just to rule it out) and thought as usual I was wasting my time and money. The type in the cupboard was the more expensive digital ones so imagine my surprise  when before I could even flush the loo it came up with a BFP. And we did it all on our own. No dr's, no injections, no drama. Absolutely amazed. DH rushed out and immediately purchased 4 different brands of test and they all show BFPs.

For all those girls that have been there doing tests when you are just a day late and waiting and waiting for the three minutes to be up to see if it showed anything or not. This time it was straight away - no waiting no hesitating.

Hopefully a good news story for all those out there struggling :D
