Gender Selection Clincs in US?

Post by AnonymousJames »

Hi everyone,
We're very new to this site and the whole topic of Gender Selection.
We've already got one very healthy little girl and we are hoping to use gender selection to help us with a little boy.
As we're based in the UK the whole topic of GS is not really talked about and is not available at the moment, we are looking to the US and trying to find out where and more importantly any recommendations for suitable clinics that might provide this service.
Are we correct in assuming that we should be considering the microsort technique using ivf?
I would appreciate any help, guidance or advice from anyone with experience.
Thank you very much.

James and Alexandra

FYI we are in our late 30s and generally healthy.

hi, you'll find that most women here are doing IVF/ART because of severe fertility issues. There has been drama in the past with people doing ART for gender selection bring up the discarding of 'wrong' sexed embryos, etc. Maybe try to find a message board more directed at people also interested in gender selection. I know there is a bustling forum and lots of info on "in-gender.com"

best of luck

Lots of US clinics do gender selection. I don't know any that advertise it.

Perhaps you might choose a few favorite clinics and then call them.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

I think many/most here would be happy to get pregnant with a baby (either sex)...so this probably is the wrong forum for you unless you are suffering from infertility issues as well.

Hi James and Alexandra,
There's nothing wrong with trying to build the family of your dreams.
I'm going through Ivf for sex selection. I have 2 beautiful girls that where conceived naturally, and my husband really wants a boy. It's done here In the US, they call it" family balancing", they'll do it as long as you have at least one child of the opposite sex, and I will be happy to share with u how everything is going, where and how much it could cost. I took fertility drugs, got my eggs retrieved and fertilized, and had only 1 male embryo transferred. I'm lying down while writing this message, bed rest. And I'm very anxious to know if I am
Pregnant a week from now.
Plz wish me luck, and let me know if there's any way I can help,
Lana

Lana - like I said to the previous poster - sex selection is a drama filled topic on these boards. Most of the women here would kill for a healthy baby, no matter the sex.

Try "http://www.in-gender.com" -- there are message boards there for women doing what you are doing. Best of luck.

Personally, I am offended that you are trying to create a family based on gender selection!!! Having a family that is loving & supportive is all that matters!

I guess I am really shocked at the negativity here regarding someone's desire to have a baby regarding sex selection. Me and my husband are using sex selection to full fill our dream of having a son. What some of you fail to realize that people like myself are donating any embryos I have that I do not use to couples who cannot create healthy embryos on there own for what ever reason. I understand anyone's desire to have a baby and if I can help a couple with that then for me there is no greater gift. My desire to have a son versus a daughter does not make my desire for a child any less than anyone else here.

Possibly people should be more understanding and not judge anyone on there decisions, to each there own. Women come here for support, not to be judged.

Well, I am sorry you feel this way. But, this site is for those who struggle with infertility, hence the name of this site. It is wonderful that you are donating embryos as there are so many couples who are struggling to have a baby...& that is my point...a baby, not a son or daughter specifically. I am totally for those who are doing gender selection due to genetic issues, but just because you want one over the other is the equivalent of wanting certain physical traits. It shouldn't matter! As mentioned previously, you should seek out a site that deals with people who are interested in creating a family based on gender.

In addition, there was no judgment passed based on the words I used. I was not disrespectful. I did not use any names. I simply stated that I was offended (as I am sure many are also).

I too have struggled with infertility, went many years not knowing why I could not get pregnant when all my friends around me could, was not diagnosed until I was trying to conceive my last child. I wish you all the best in your pregnancies and hope everyone gets what they desire out of this process.
