AF has finally arrived. I start BCP & Antibiotic on Sunday!!! My suppression check is January 19 and possible ER in Feb 2nd ish. I am happy to get going again!

Good for you to move forward for the next attempt. I am still waiting for my AF, which should come next week. Did you do anyting special to soften the suffering of such long waiting? I made several consulations but they were not very helpful. Stared yesterday a diet with real fat and a lot protein and vegs. Hope to compensate the lost feelings.

Kerri-- no I didn't do much of anything different except eating a ton of sugar cookies I had just made! I was really surprised that AF came on time since it was the first cycle since my mc. Hopefully AF is right around the corner for you!

Hi- i am new to this. have read alot of postings over the last year but this is the first time i have decided to join. I will have my 3rd IVF in January.
a bit of my history- I am 38yrs old (almost 39). TTC for 4 yrs now. Over the last 2yrs i have had 1 chemical pg with clomid, 6 failed IUIs (1 with chem pg), and 2 failed IVFs. DH has excellent sperm, so no troubles there. I have a lot of conifdence in DR who has done all the tests... everything looks fine, good FSH, progesterone levels, ovarian reserve, etc. Absolutley nothing seems wrong, and this is actually more frustrating. I think it would be better to find something wrong that can be "fixed". Anyway, we did ICSI on both previous IVF.
1st IVF- 12 retrieved, 6 embryos implanted (3 were good quality). BFN.
2nd IVF- 13 retreived, ICSI with 4 embryos implanted (2 good, 2 medium quality) BFN. Both times using lupron, follistim, repronex, and progesterone shots. the only difference between 1st and 2nd IVF was a increase with follistim and lower amt of repronex to extend time for maturation of eggs. also started taking baby aspirin. Think i had an "almost" after first IVF because i expereinced "real" pg symptoms for about 2 days. And I say this bc it was different, after trying and waiting for so long, I know something was different but I guess I will never really know what went wrong.
Got the hysteroscopy test in december (hurt like hell!). This test was done to make sure my lining could retain a pregnancy. Luckily the result came out fine.
I am committing to some serious acupuncture this time around. Started the acupunture after 2nd IVF (october) when my body completely shut down (major hot flashes, no period, etc) I think it has helped so far and getting my body back on track. Just finished my week of agysten and starting the lupron shots now. This will be our 3rd and final attempt as insurance doesn't cover it. Needing 3rd time to be the charm!.

Hello ladies

Start Lupron on the 6th and have a suppression check scheduled for the 19th of this month. Just glad to get things rolling again. Funny, but I feel like I am really really relaxed this time around, almost too relaxed....

Hi everyone,
I know I have not posted in awhile, but I was in need of some much needed R&R. I am on day 7 of stims. I am taking Follistim 150 IU in AM & 75 in PM and 150 IU of Menopur. Tomorrow I will start adding Ganirelix. I have 8 follicles on both left and right currently measuring between 11 and 13. Estrogen level is good. Not taking baby asprin this time around, doctor stopped using it as part of protocol b/c studies have been conducted that shows it neither increases of decreases chances of pregnancy. I guess I am okay with that since my past 2 cycles were BFN so maybe trying something different will help. Who the heck knows with this process! I personally think that it is all in God's hands:)

Hoping for ER on Sunday and will likely do a day 3 transfer since that is what we have been doing in the previous cycles.

Hoping 2011 is a good year for all of us!

Hi everybody,
I just received my new schedule today. I will stop the BCP on 20 Jan. and start the shots from 26 Jan. My doctor had my medication changed this time: it is now Fostimon (75IU, 1x2 tubes, every morning)-Puregon (1x200 IU every evening)-Cetrotide (0.25 SC daily). I will start the first two shots on 26 Jan and the last one will only start when I am notified. Does anyone have tried a similar protocol? I had Puregon-Orgalutran protocol for the previous two IVF attempts but it resulted low mature eggs (6 and 8 mature eggs respectively). Do you think the new protocol will do better than the old one?

Hello ladies-
i am on day 3 of the stims. looks like my retrieval will be around the 18th. This is my 3rd and final IVF unless i get anything to freeze. we have decided not to do a donor egg or adoption. it just doesn't seem right for us. so i am really trying not too stress out too much right now.
hope everything is going well with your stimming tinkerbell and sunshine! lots of eggs

kerri- those are new drugs to me, but i am a believer in switching it up. also my Dr says that a higher dose of the follistim is better since it helps with better quality and maturation of eggs.

MY ESTIMATED RETRIEVAL DATE IS JAN 24-26TH! VERY EXCITED, BUT NERVOUS AT THE SAME TIME. I AM ON BCP TIL MONDAY AND START MY INJECTIONS ON THURSDAY. MY ONLY WORRY IS THAT A HUGE SNOW STORM IS SET TO HIT US MONDAY, SO I HOPE MY MED DELIVERY TO MY HOME DOESNT GET TOO DELAYED! IT SEEMS LIKE IT TAKES SO LONG TO GET TO THIS POINT BUT NOW THAT IT IS HERE... IT IS GOING VERY FAST, BUT IM GLAD!!!!

Got more information about my new drugs; it seems that I will be using the same protocol but differnt drugs. Fostimon is a urofollitropin form of FSH purified from post menopausal women. Puregon is also a FSH, with follitropin beta form, prepared from recombinant DNA. Cetrorelix is a GnRH antagonist, just like Orgalutron. No idea why they work different.

Hello everyone!

I am new to IVF & I am on my 4th day of Stims. I'm curious how do you all know when your transfer date will be so soon? I asked the nurse the other day, (granted I was only on my 2nd day of Stims) & she said that I should not even be asking her that question yet.

Layers - I wish you the best of luck on this next try! I applaud you for going through more than once. I don't know I can do this again if we are not succesful. It's painful!

Sometimes clinics give you an estimated transfer date, but don't stick to that date it often it changes based on the growth of follicles, when your egg retrieval occurs, and the number and quality of your embryos.

For those of us who have been through IVF more than once you get an idea of when your transfer may occur based on past experience. This is my 3rd cycle and I am pretty positive that we will do a day three transfer since that is what we have done in previous cycles. I have my ER tomorrow and will likely have transfer on Thursday.
