OMG I just totally screwed up. I took 225 units of Gonal-F when I was supposed to reduce it to 150. Has anyone ever done this? I hope my doctor doesn't get pissed at me. I will have to call first thing tomorrow. :(

Kat- dont worry, there is always a solution to the problem! Id ask Ghost until you can ask your doctor tomorrow. At least thats what Id do to help get me through the night. On the other hand Id page my doctor. Most cases they will make you come in tomorrow and do an u/s to see where you are at and then do a very small dose the next time. I'll say a pray for you! Just remain calm! Everything will work out! ~~ Heather

Thanks Heather. I just spoke with my gf and she did the same thing. They didn't have her change anything except make sure she took correct dose the next day. Which I already changed my dial on my pen so I wouldn't forget again. I will relax until tomorrow.

By the way who is ghost?

Sweetpea- i did that too! Your fine. just make sure you correct it tomorrow. they will still monitor your follicles so closely that that should not make any kind of impact. When i was on the follistim i had sonograms every other day. I still ended up with 23 eggs! Wayy too close to OHSS. You will be fine! But when in doubt never hesitate to page your RE. I bug the heck outta mine

txcpforivf thanks. I did change the dial so I wouldn't mess up tomorrow. I have my next blood and ultrasound on Friday morning. Glad I'm not the only one who has done this. The DH goes I bet it happens all the time. :)

Lou: Sorry about work stress. Unfortunately, I know about it too well. Take extra care, maybe squeeze in an extra acupuncture appt? That helps me relax more then I ever could have guessed. And, is it time to be doing the AF dance for you?!? Let me know and I will get jiggy with it!!Image

Rio: I will definitely ask about the Mini-IVF when we go for our WTF meeting...although I am starting to rethink our clinic. But not sure about the alternatives....still on the hunt with researching!! How did things go with the endocrinologist? And---tomorrow is u/s day!!! Yipee!! Are you excited? I'll be thinking of you tomorrow...let me know how things go!!

LongtimeIVFer: That is a difficult decision. I am not sure what your age is, but if time is a factor you might want to go ahead and go with a fresh cycle. Having the extra snow babies could be used for siblings down the road?

SD: Welcome back--to this thread at least! ;-) Glad to see you moving on the list!!

Kat: I agree with Leora, DH should try to use a medical excuse to get out of jury duty. See if RE would write one. Regarding your “oops” I think you will be ok...just make sure RE knows and be extra careful with next dose.

Leora: FL trip was for pleasure...it was supposed to be celebratory of our BFP :-( Ah, well. It was nice to get away to a somewhat warmer climate. Yes, it stinks that $$ gets in the way of our dreams...we shall see how we might be able to overcome/get around it. Somehow...someway...I am hoping we will find a way. I've been sending out inquiries with different agencies...thanks for the guidance. Our WTF appt is the same day as your HSG, btw. And, I love the image of you cussing a cabdriver in Hebrew! I guess after going to Hebrew school myself and learning mostly prayers, etc, the image seems so incongruent!

Jamie: Welcome!! Congratulations on...Image..did you say “patiently waiting” ?!?! What is that? I have never heard of such a thing...lol...maybe that is because I am just neurotic. Best of luck to you!!! Are you POASing?

Riya: Sorry about the negative HPT. But don’t give up hope...2 more days until beta? Right? Still time to get your BFP....how many dpo are you? You are still...Image

NwQuiz: Grrrrrrr....I am so upset for you. I was so hoping that this cycle was it. I am so sorry. Lots of ((((HUGS))))). I am really excited to hear what DH said. What a sweetheart. Although this process is stressful and can cause issues and arguments, I think in the long run it strengthens marital bonds. I hope that you are able to get your loan and get moving soon. Keep me posted. If I can help any, I will.Image

leorira11 thanks for adding me to your list

Kat I also took to much Gonal-f also doc said it would be fine and not to worry to make sure I took the correct dose the following night and then I had an appointment the following morning. I am sure you will be just fine

Sorry to hear about the negatives....hugs to you....and lots of baby dust

I do have a question for anyone who can answer it for me. I am planning a trip in March right before egg retrieval and I will be on bravelle. Does anyone know what I should do as to traveling with my medication. With the way the airports are these days I didn't know if I should put medication in my carry on bag or how I should do it. I would put it in my luggage but heaven forbid something happen to it or my luggage gets lost some how. I would prefer to put it in my carry on bag..wasn't sure if I needed some type of letter my from doc so I could do that. Any help would be great

margie..good to see you back with all the blinkies..

sweetpea - did you contact your RE? i guess it should be totally fine.

SDtrying - yey for AF showing up on time..!you are 1 step close now..

hopeisallihave..good to hear that the bloodwork went smoothly for your husband this time..

longtimerivf - whether you decide to do FET or fresh cycle, good luck..let this be your miracle cycle..

lou - good luck for AF showing up on time…

riya - dnt lose hope yet..anything can happen in 2 days…

sorry if i missed a few…

AFM - i had another U/S today and having 1 more tomorrow..the doc told that they can see about 4-5 follicles and is not able to differentiate them with my endo cysts so is not sure about the count..i know its not a great number, but with my severe endo, i wasn't expecting a big number.. last time also they could retrieve only 4.. but i had 1 girl in that cycle, who just had 1 egg retrieved and got pregnant with that…so im counting on that story to increase my PMA.. ER is most probably going to be on sat (definitely not on fri) or even sunday.. will keep you guys posted…

Marg, I know it was a disappointment that the last IUI didn't work. My good friend that I work with did IUI with Follistim and it did work on the 4th attempt. In the last 6 months she went on a diet, but not sure whether it was the timing (with the med) or losing the weight, but anything is possible. They say over-weight or even being under-weight can affect fertility. Our doctor tells us my dh and I would only have a 5-7% success rate with IUI, thinks I have symptoms of Endometerosis, but never been tested. Tomorrow I'm on a conference call with RE to talk more about this, and see if laproscopic surgery might be needed.

Morning ladies- i feel much better today than yesteday. it was rough not that i dont cry in pain silently. But like we all say we have to be strong to make it. thanks for all the support.
Imbella- I have travelled with meds before on a carryon bag. the most they can do if its alot they will check the prescription to match with your name. They even let me use a little cooler with them so dont stress you will be fine.

Margi-Girl thanks i need it all the hugs i can get. Dh was so kid and he cried yesteday coz we knew that was it for us. This morning he shows me all his plan and wants me to go ahead and go for baseline sns already. mentally am not ready. i just dont know why and am scared i may have left over cysts as usual and it will still cost me 244 for an ultrasound to be told to stay out a month. Yes money should not be coming before our dreams. i wonder when someone will look at making infertility a medical necessity. Maybe if more men were faced with it they would push it.

Sunshin-Grow follies grow.

Katieb1231-Thanks for much for the offer. I just dont use lupron i use ganirelix instead, gonal.follistim and prog support.
Rio-let us know how that bean is doing. i bet grown like a weed. all the best on your ultrasound. i envy you at this point so much. Enjoy you deserve it all.

All the other ladies all the best and good luck in 2011. we are in this together.

jenn... I traveled by air with my follistim a year or so ago. Put in your carry on bag - preferably an outside zippered compartment so it is easy to access - and be sure to add a little gel freezer pack to it. When you go through the airport security, be sure to tell the people searching your bag that you have refrigerated medication in there so when they find it won't be a surprise. You may want to bring along either a prescription or note from your doctor, or the protocol sheet they provided you, just to prove that it is yours and you need to use. It shouldn't be a problem. Diabetics fly with insulin shots all the time. You just have to be prepared. They may make you toss the gel pack, but you have a right to the meds.

tcx... 23 eggs? wow... but why were only two fertilized? Were there alot of empty ones? That is what I am afraid of for me. Just wondering.

Jmbella: I travelled earlier this year while still on Lupron injections and a whole host of pills. I placed the Lupron in one of those insulated lunchbags with a freezer pack. I carried the prescriptions labels with me in my carry-on, including the one for the needles, and had no note from my RE. No one in security ever asked a question on either leg of the trip. I don't think you'll have a problem. Placing your meds in your checked bag is a disaster waiting to happen. That will be the one time when your bag gets lost or damaged. A carry-on will be fine.

I'm slammed at work so just want to let you all know quickly that I did call RE and she said it was no big deal at all and to just make sure I took correct dose tonight. Told her I already changed the dial. Phew. Thank you all for responding and making me feel at ease.

Jmbella- I agree with everyone else to put it in a carry on. An insulated lunch bag is best with a little freezer pouch. I will definitely watch the news though and look for "breaking news woman arrested possible explosive chemicals in carry on;) "

Sunshine how are them follies?

Nwwhiz- I have 5 doses of Centritide which is same thing as Ganirelix just differant brand. If your doctor ok's the use of the differant brand name I will ship to you. Insurance paid for mine so I don't want any money and I didn't respond to it so I will not be using it again. Sitting in my fridge.

Margi- I sure hope he can use that as an excuse. But hoping when he calls the day before they say he isn't even needed.

I hope I didn't miss anyone. Sorry if I did. Hope everyone is doing well.

Katie -- Awesome you have blasts to transfer. There are plenty of success stories from FET's.

Margi -- Good for you on being healthy and taking wheatgrass and DHEA. Are you having any levels done while on DHEA? It can only help. I've got acupuncture tonight and then will go twice next week since I'm (hopefully) starting stims. Start dancing girl..... and bring out all the crazy moves.... I need AF by Monday 1/10 to cycle this month.

Riya -- I'm so sorry. I know how difficult it is to get a BFN.

Rio -- Hello my dear pregnant friend...lol. Dance away!!! I need AF by Mon. :D

longtimerivf -- I think I would go for the FET. If they were frozen as blasts with vitrification then your odds of the FET working aren't much different than a fresh. Do what your heart tells you to do.

SDtrying#2 -- I'm a pharmacist and work as the Clinical Manager of the dept in a large hospital. How did your baseline appt do today?

HopeisAllIHave-- You're too funny! But seriously... try not to psych yourself out too much. If you're worried about taking BCP's then I'd hate to see you when you get to injections. My AF is due 1/9 or 1/10.

Leora -- I'm with you.... #6 for the win!!!

nwquiz -- I'm really sorry hun. How many ivf's have you done? Is iui an option for you?

Sweetpea -- Yesssss.... good idea. A relaxation massage is just what I need! Now if I could find the time to do it.

Jamie -- Welcome. Your 2ww is almost over. Wishing you the best.

Sunshine -- Even though your number of follies is on the low side... your age should mean good quality and we all now it's quality over quantity! I've got my fingers crossed for you. Good luck on your next u/s. I hope a few more pop up!

CJ -- So tell us... how did you land a 31 year old "stud" anyway? That's awesome if you can help nwquiz with her progesterone.

I'm sorry if I missed anyone.... I know I'm a bit behind.

AFM -- AF due 1/9 or 1/10... start dancing girls! Still really buried in this project at work. I was given a ridiculous timeline. I guess it might make the 2ww go by quicker when I get to that point, right? Good luck everyone!
