Leora - I'm going to completely stay away from caffeine and any alcoholic beverage during pregnancy. I know they say a glass of wine is okay during pregnancy, but I'm completely against it. This is when sacrifices start for your loved one, right? I'll give up much more than just coffee and wine to have a bundle of joy in my arms! The hotel looks beautiful! Have tons of fun!

Lou - grow follies, grow!! No such luck with the dream again. I've been having horrible insomnia lately due to Lupron When I do sleep, I have dreams (rather nightmares) about negative labs and results. Maybe I should stop reading the loved and lost section of the board. It always gets me so emotional.

Amanda - yay on starting stims!

Sorry everyone I haven't been posting much... but I've been cheering for all of you to get wonderful cycles and amazing great news!!!
I see the board has been moving quite a bit lately!!!

AFM: no news yet... still haven't decided what to do... RE said best chance we have is to do a fresh cycle (now or after FET...)... DH wants a fresh one... I was ready for FET and calling it our last cycle no matter what... So still in limbo land!!!
Will let you wondeful ladies know what we do...
... For now... Lurking and praying for all of you to get BFP this cycle!!!

Hi ladies,

Went to RE for bloodwork and u/s yesterday. Have the normal cysts on my ovary and they were throwing off hormones so RE said one more week on Lupron. Already my body isn't cooperating! So, if all goes well, will start stims on MLK day. Waiting is the worst.

Mr. Right's swimmers were received safely by the RE today so one less thing to worry about. Someone asked what donor place I used - I ended up using Fairfax mostly because they had adult photos for many of their donors. I figured that my child will one day want to see them so I thought that was an important option. Most places only let you get baby photos.

Ryann - thanks for the story on giving yourself the injection. I am definitely feeling much less anxious about that now that I've done the Lupron so many times. I know the intermusculars will be harder but I think having the willpower is half the battle. Still considering bringing my sister in on my "journey" to help but haven't been that close with her lately so we'll see.

Lou - I am doing a fresh cycle. I did not make it to ER, although I do have 5 frozen ones, I am saving them for a rainy day lol jk. INS pays for 1 more cycle whether fresh or frozen. We figure we will do the more expensive and hopefully get more frosties for if it does not work, or future baby.

Kimber, are you going to go through all of this by yourself? You mentioned a donor facility in Fairfax.. is that in VA? I live in NC, but drive through northern VA every couple of months to go to MD where my family is and my work. I don't blame you about wanting the adult photo... everyone can look cute as a baby, but its what they grow up to be that's more important. Not that looks are everything, but they can account for something =)

AFM - Well i have been taking the pill called Microgynon for 2 days now
and im suffering big time with headaches im not sure whether or not to take pain relief
for this but i have rang the hospital to let them know and am waiting for someone to call back?
On the day i did get the phone call for day 1 of taking this pill the earliest app. she gave me
for a scan was 31st of January????? THAT IS 3 WEEKS away is this normal? She stated because
of the xmas period there were alot of calls and thats the earliest she can fit me in? Im not
impressed!!!! These headaches for 3 weeks . I am quite amazed though how quick
AF stopped its usually here for 5 days but to finish on day 2 again is this normal?

Well ladies if there is anyone i have missed due to not having my head screwed on properly

Jamie - I am so sorry about your chemical. The minute we hear "BFP", that child exists in our minds and hearts. I know this doesn't help right now, but it's a good sign that you got pregnant at all. Of course, the ideal is to carry a child to term and bring home that happy, healthy baby - and I hope your next cycle brings you that joy.

Lou - you don't WANT to know where I was in 1995 (2nd grade? ) I got married in 2005 - so exactly 10 years later than you! I'm so glad to hear that the stimming is going well....

Amanda - Snow? Of all things.... and in Alabama? Craziness. I'm so glad that they didn't do something stupid like cancel the cycle because you missed your baseline! Cool to be stuck in the hospital, at least hubby was there too!

Katie99 - I know you because I've stalked for a long time. Congrats on your son! My MIL was told my DH was a girl in SEVERAL u/s - he is 100% boy! So just think that one day, some special girl will thank goodness that u/s tech was wrong!

Carol - sooo.... doyou want to be listed as "2ww", "waiting for AF" or "waiting for IVF/IUI"? I put you in the 2ww - there have been a few 'surprise' BFPs in the past month - I'm hoping you get one!

Sunshine 12 - congrats on being PUPO! I hate that you get to the transfer and the doctors pressure you about how many to transfer. I get a lot of crap from my doctors when I want to transfer 2 - because of my history, they want to transfer 1 at a time... at this ponit, I want to transfer at least 2 - and so tempted to transfer 3! Hopefully these two embryos will bring you the baby you are waiting for. Will you POAS?

Kristin - congrats on a great ER! let us now about your fert report tomorrow!

Hope - I totally get keeping away from everything (alcohol, caffeine, etc). And I love sparkling cider, so enjoy! (btw, Samantha (wannabeamum) called you "Ashley".... is your name Ashley? Do you prefer to be known as Ashley or "hope"?)

long timer - I'm sorry you are still in limbo land.... having a plan feels so much better that not knowing. Good luck deciding on what to do!

Kimber - I'm glad you are getting used to the injections. Even the IM ones arent so bad. I hope those cysts clear up soon!

Lauren 1711 - my system here in Israel pays for cycles (if you have frosties, you MUST do frozen) until you have 2 kids. Thank goodness my twins didn't 'count' as my kids for that (they were technically born alive, so the bureaucracy could have been really obnoxious).... I'm really hoping we end up having our second kid while we have a bunch of froties - a FET is much cheaper out of pocket than a fresh!

Samantha - I was 22 on my first cycle and transferred 2 as well - pregnant with twins. It's really up to you - what scares you more, twins or a BFN? After I lost my twins, we decided to transfer only 1 at a time. After a year of BFNs, we are going back to transferring 2. It's a really hard choice. (I'm 24 now).... I'm also on Microgynon (where do you live? it's a really odd brand BCP to take in the USA!)You can definitely take pain relief for headaches. I have the flu now, I'm popping advil like it's candy! Microgynon is a birth control pill - so yeah, it'll make your period much shorter (but you may have spotting)

Good morning everyone!

Just got the call from my dr. Only 5 were mature so they ICSI'd those. I'm trying to stay positive but I know that there is drop off so I am so scared that all 5 won't grow or won't make it to day 5. I really can't afford to do another fresh cycle so I was hoping to have enough to freeze as well. So I guess I am asking if you guys have experienced successful transfers with only 5 being fertilized?

Good Luck with everyone! I have been trying to read and keep up with everyone and get to know their stories. You ladies are remarkable...the strength and courage you guys have is phenomenal!! I am so glad I found this group!!!!!

Kristin...I wanted to pop on and tell you my story. While stimming it appeared I had around 24 follies, but in the end, only 7 were retrieved and mature. 5 fertilized and grew, but 1 stopped, which left me with 4 embies to freeze on day 3 (we froze all and didn't do the transfer because of a medicine mix up). So with 4 frosties I transferred 2 and am now 8 weeks pregnant with twins! It can happen-keep the faith! I will keep everything crossed for you!

Thanks to everyone who has been checking on me. I am having quite a rough pregnancy so far (already on bedrest), and just don't feel right posting about that when all you ladies need to be surrounded by positivity!!!! I read every day and am sooooo cheering you all on! And I am sending baby dust and PMA with all the might I have!

CONGRATULATIONS on your twins!!!! That is such a blessing. Yes, rest rest rest! My BFF got pregnant with twins through IVF and she was on bedrest alot during her pregnancy. She said it was a good thing because now that they are here (9 months) she gets NO rest
Thanks for the words of encouragement!!! I am very nervous and want this sooo badly! I am praying all 5 will grow grow grow and develop so they can transfer 2 and then we can freeze the other 3.

Kristin - you are perfectly fine with 5 my first IVF I had 4 mature eggs, they all fertilized and we put in all 4 and I had our son, the second time only 3 mature eggs, put in 3 and had an ectopic, my third time had 5 mature, 5 fertilized, put in 4 and I am now pregnant with one healthy baby, the twin didn't make it so yes there is a lot of hope for you! PMA!
