Hi Ladies,

I went for the baseline us & blood work this morning. I have a 3.2 cm follicle already of the left ovary & we haven't started the stims meds yet. My nurse said she would call this afternoon to let us know if we should start the meds. I have been taking DHEA. I wonder if that cause the follicles to be get bigger? PLEASE PLEASE don't let them cancel my cycle.

amanda, the 3.2 cm follicle must be leftover from a previous cycle - maybe a cyst. They usually like those to be gone before starting meds. As far as I know about dhea, and hopefully someone else will chime in also, they help produce more and hopefully better quality eggs, but I don't know that they make them bigger. The royal jelly does the same, more and better quality. Good luck and I hope this cycle is a go!

Hi Girls - Just wanted to pop on and say hello - I am in stalker mode but I read everyday & laugh, cry, jump for joy & mourn with you all. To all the newcomers welcome this is a amazing group of ladies who have been so caring & supportive of me through all my grieving. To all the regulars - just wanted to pop in and say hi & let you know I am still here and catch up on your stories daily. I just don't have much to say right now - just on BCP's waiting for my first monitoring appt on the 28th then the FET on or around the 15th. We are still really shaken up by the miscarriage but seem to be dealing with it better now. I am of course scared that it will happen again and that is my greatest fear - but we are moving forward & hoping for the best......

Just know I am here praying for BFP's for all of you and will be back on soon. Katie

krcaja - Thank you! I did all day 3 because they advise not to go to day 5 if you have less than 6 really good embryos on day 3, I never had enough to freeze or go to day 5 but that's ok, what counts is that you have few but good ones. So don't worry about the numbers too much, a girl on a past cycle only had one fertilized egg and got pregnant! Yes, I was on baby aspirin, and medrol.

Amanda - Were you on BCP? I took DHEA and was on BCP and had a big cycst which is a follicle (call them cysts when you don't want them and follies when you want them!) because on DHEA I ovulated right through BCP! So that could have happened to you, they postponed my cycle for a month and I did no BCP. So next baseline everything was clear and my AFC was higher!!! DHEA does not cause bigger follies just recruits more antral follicles. If you have to postpone your cycle to get better results don't be bummed. Yes it stinks to wait more but to wait for better results is worth it! I got pregnant on my no BCP and DHEa cycle so it works!

CJin NC - are you on DHEA also?

Well the nurse called looks like I am going back Friday for another us & blood work. My FSH was slightly elevated also. We were told not to start the meds and keep taking the estradiol for now. I am disappointed but hopefully come Friday it will look better.

Carol - Yep, Fairfax is in VA, but they recruit from a few different states. I'm on the east coast as well...digging out from the latest wave of snow today. Oh, the joys of being single (ugh). Having to shovel your own snow and er...purchase donor sperm

Rio - Mr. Right is definitely cute. Not knock you off your feet gorgeous but he's very tall and has broad shoulders and very curly blond hair. Great smile and friendly eyes. His baby pics are adorable and as he got older, he got more handsome. Definitely someone I would be attracted to. Although, that wasn't why I picked him. I really like his audio interview and his essay. Plus he's studying to be a vet, so he's compassionate as well. I love animals, especially my doggie, so having a child who shares my love (and no allergies to them) was important to me. I know it's not a given, but I chose someone that I thought I'd really like as a person. So now we'll see if we're actually compatible for baby making!

Hello All! We have one beautiful healthy baby! We heard the heartbeat = 125bpm. What an amazing day. I am currently 6weeks/2days and am due on Labor Day, Sept. 5th! I just can't stop looking about the u/s pics. It was all so amazing. So I have 3 more weeks of PIO & baby asprin and I'm free! We have our first prenatal visit with our OB on Feb 2. So excited.

Sorry for the lack of personals. I am beond exhausted and it's only 7pm here!

Just checking in tonight on everyone. Called the clinic today since I started af on cycle day 21. I stopped taking birth control last Monday, since I'm getting ready for laproscopic surgery. Didn't realize aunt flow would come just two days later, and I used to have regular 28d cycles, but apparantly- all the hormones will do this to you. Hopefully the surgery will outline if I have that mild case of endometrious and also check to see if the D&C surgery last Spring was taken care of. Regardless, it will give us peace of mind...

By the way, Bakersbaby, congratulations on the good news! Glad to hear everythings healthy so far so good!

Hi Amanda, I'm still a newbie here, so not sure if I understand DHEA, was told it's used for testing healthy embryos- Please elaborate. Regardless, did you ask them if they would cancel the cycle or just thinking that? It can vary from each cycle, but many more follicles will grow in this cycle with the meds at a different pace. Plus with all the ultrasounds, they will monitor you closely and alter the meds accordingly. Well that's my 2 cents worth! Sunshine1576

Hi ladies

Quick question and I really need feedback. Did any of you have extreme irritation or just plain crabbiness after your egg retrieval? Im not sure if its just nerves with my transfer coming up and not knowing how my embies are doing, frustration with my mail order pharmacy/UPS which has still not delivered my POI which I need to begin tomorrow, or my DH's relaxed attitude about everything!!!! I am so irritable its not even funny. I feel 10X more just nasty than I did while on all those hormones. Please advise!!!!

Hello all,

I am a newbe here and this is my first IVF cycle praying for a first time miracle as we all do! I had my first u/s this morning on day 3 of stimms and had about 18 growing but my E2 levels very low (82) not good. I had been taking 4 vials of Repronex each evening and the doctor has more than doubled that to two seperate doses one in am one in pm of 5 vials each!! Lord willing this will do the trick and get that E2 level up there. I go back again friday morning to check on my progress. Wishing everyone a success cycle!!!!

okay - absolutely NO time for personals - as I'm on my way to the airport to GREECE! No internet for 4 days - I'll 'talk' to yall on Sunday evening! Only good news until then, okay?

Some really bad news has happened around here --- I'm sitting here crying. People have been PMing me for my advice/experience on losing a baby at around 20-24 weeks. I hate that I have advice/experience....but I hate even more that other people need to ask. For those who don't know, SD's SIL is in the hospital in PTL at 23.5 weeks. Tess69 had her anatomy scan at 19w and was told that the baby had abnormalities incompatible with life and she is terminating.... my case is unique since I had a crisis pregnancy (when something goes really wrong, like PTL or pPROM) *and* made the 'choice' (it's never a choice. No one *wants* to) to terminate for medical reasons (I wasn't in labor on my own, we had to induce because we were told there was no chance our babies would make it and the longer I stayed pregnant, the more my own life was at risk).

So now I start my vacation in tears just thinking about these two women and knowing what they are going through..... hopefully a nap on the plane will clear my mind.

Nothing but good news until I come back - okay, y'all?

There are times when we need to cry with others and laugh to but again at the end of the day you have to think of yourself and what is best for you. so take this time to forget this board just for 4 days so that you can enjoy your vacation. we will be waiting for you here coz we know you will return to us and keep providing the support we need.
sdtry-i hope your sil will find peace in her decision on what to do next. will still pray for her and family.

Okay...I hate to ask but what does PMA and PUPO stand for?

I hope everyone is having a good day. I am praying for the women who are going through such terrrible losses. I just cant imagine their pain and hope they are able to hold on to family and friends through this trying time.

As for all the expecting mommies I am really praying hard for healthy successful pregnancy!!!!!!!!!

For the rest of us I am praying for us to join the expecting mommy list very soon!!!

I hate that I have to wait until tomorrow to find out how my embies are doing! I am hoping to make it day 5 but I have this gut feeling it will be tomorrow (day 3).

Well Im going to try to keep my mind busy and concentrate on the positivity...thank god I have acupucture today!
